About 35 years ago, there was a couple who, along with their 3 girls and two boys ranging in age from 3 to 15, were active members at the church Kay and I attend. These were very conservative people, who homeschooled their children. It is well documented that homeschooled children are usually better behaved and do better in school than those who received a public education. The two oldest daughters played in the orchestra. All of the children were active in Sunday school and youth activities. All of a sudden, the family stopped attending. I bumped into the daddy at Walmart and asked if they were attending someplace else. His answer came right out of a verse in this song. "Our youngest boy (a three year old) has difficulty behaving in church. We're gonna wait until he's a little older to come back." His answer not only begs the question, it begs several questions! 1. How will a child learn to behave in worship services if he or she never attends worship services? 2. Does our church not have an active children's church? If it's a matter of wanting to make certain your child is well supervised, our children's ministry is looking for volunteers. 3. What did you do with your other four children that makes them so well-behaved? Unless the three-year-old has some serious emotional issues, I think any type of behavioral problem could be solved by good parenting. There are "church hoppers" who jump from one church to another, always finding fault and coming up with an excuse to leave.

Great guitar playing and song

I taught a Sunday school lesson on the excuses people give for not attending worship service. With the exception of my wife and I, none of the people were familiar with this song. I played it at the conclusion of my lesson and it not only brought the house down, it drove home the truth taught in the lesson.

About 12 years ago I used one of those JLD kits but I bought mine from the inventor who lived in New Mexico. I was repairing a 1939 Gibson J35 that was bellying up. He supplied me with some brass pegs because the device was supposed to be screwed through the D string hole (the peg ended with a screw end) so I could keep the guitar all original once the top settled back down. Blue book valve was $18k at that time. You could have darken the bridge with the old apple vinegar and steel wool mixture. Enjoyed the video and seeing your techniques.

It seems like the real problem for the belly bulge was the braces coming loose like that….got weak over time like there wasn’t enough glue from the build at the start of its life. Nice work by the way! I like those inside brace jack clamps.

The top was bulging because there was essentially no bracing. If the bracing was fixed first, there may not have been any need for a bridge doctor.
