Great video. Not trying to be a hater, but no way that’s CAT III. On the forward-facing camera on the tail, you can clearly see approach lights around CAT I DH. I’d bet this was a CAT I autoland with a solid 2000 RVR. However, the condensation coming off of the huge wing would give the sideways-facing passenger the illusion of zero visibility, which I believe to be the case here because when the plane flares, the condensation gets worse, which it should with an increase in lift. Additionally, I noticed a lightning flash early on - and rain .... so this is a rain storm, not a fog event, and CAT IIIs are almost exclusively fog events.

I've never understood why commercial pilots don't make every landing, regardless of the weather, a CATIII landing. Why land manually when the INS can land the plane? I can see if there is a technical problem or if the pilots wanted to hone their piloting skills, but why should landing manually be routine? Considering that many accidents are caused by manual landings would not CATIII be a safer way to go? Of course if there is a comprehensive reason why CATIII is not used in most situations I stand corrected.

Why the clapping when this is totally routine landing. It's the pilot's job to make safe landing. Of course only changes are either it's soft or hard.
