This video goes to show that if you got used to the old "easy" Tales games you'd suck at playing Zestiria unless you really study how to play it this well. But see, it's possible and other players can do it. When it's done like this, it becomes "artistic."
I would dissagree that the older titles are easy. In fact zestiria and beseria are way easier then say vesperia or symphonia or even xillia 2

How do you use so many rates at once
longest combo you've ever managed doing?. i know there's a mechanic called super armour, if you keep doing same arts over and over and that one is kinda in the way for combo :D.

even after watching this guy with maxed out stats, this game still boring af. weakest battle system in tales of series imo. Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia, Graces F, Xillia 1 and 2 all had a battle system that kept u going back for more fights. Zestiria is the first tales game that had me staying away from random battles since it was so unenjoyable. Also dont get me started on the bland looking artes and mystics ewwwwwww.
im currently having the same problem. Im like 18 hours in and really trying hard to like this game but its extremly hard. I loved Symphonia, Abyss and Vesperia. Abyss was my favorite though.
the thing about these games is the martial art system, the joy in playing these games are making an infinite combo that looks styleful, his combo with Sorey looked amazing dude, it takes literally hours and hours figuring out how to make a combo look like a beautiful master piece of art. also they've kinda been lazy with berseria, ''Elaneor has exactly the same mystic artes as Alisha xD.
Problem is, you get to do all these flashy things near the end game or on your next playthrough. For instance, you can only do the 3 hit combos in the start. Later on you can do the 7 hit combos. The game was designed with second/third playthrough in mind and completely ignored the first. Which ultimately resulted in crapy gameplay the first 20 or so hours and then the game opened up after you beat it. So many fights I would just armatize with Mikleo and just shoot from a distance because comboing wasn't worth it. Especially when you'd combo someone and you're in the middle of an attack and the enemy decides to get invulnerability frames and you're still in the middle of an attack and he attacks you breaking your combo and often killing you. There's no way to cancel out of an attack which is a big problem. In games like God of War you can cancel out of an attack and block whenever. I wish this game had a parrying system too. The dodge system sucked as sometimes I know I dodged but it wouldn't count it as one. Only the "super close" to getting hit dodge counts.
yes the reason he becomes immune is because you probably did same combo over and over there's a thing called super armor which is tedious, i don't know how its calculated but, if you do same attack animations way to often, Ai snaps up on it and gets a super armor buff, i think you're only allowed to do same move 2 times in a row then you need a break from those moves, for a cycle of 3 or 4, i've forget.
How does that make sense though. Lets say the enemy has a fire weakness. and im playing as sorey. Obviously Im going to try to use the fire move first, and follow up with the next attack. like if we're looking at martial artes only, that means I will hold analog stick right and hit circle twice so he does his fire move (now enemy has been hit by normal attack followed by fire attack) then I can do whatever combo after. Are you saying if i do right+circle x2 multiple times to initiate weakness combo they'll snap out of it?

+Fendi Roon Accel, reduces BG cost x1. I beleive he also enabled the Battle Action which reduces BG cost when you reach 30 hit combos.
this video proves me wrong that you can't do long combos with Edna and Alisha
who says?? if you stack a bonus skill until 16 stack, you can perfom an unlimited combo.. when you have 15 stack, the cost of skill is halved.. you dont know much about the bonus skill, don't you? edna use the blast cancel to continue the combo and she use "sacrifice 1 BG to recover 50 SC and continuing the combo" on the "battle action" . and 1 again, sorey sacrifice 1 BG to teleport edna in front of enemies.. Look carefully..!! i've been played this game 80hours, so i knew what "skill" or "battle action" he used and if you level up your skills to the highest lvl, the skill will cost less SC

yes and no, you can combo for an infinity of time, if you manage to always counter the enemy moves, but it requires a bit of luck to predict what for attacks they are doing, i've managed to get a combo hit solo on Alisha to 165 versus Kylern, in crucibles, but it was only lucky, most of the times the Ai have such a confusing attack pattern that it's almost impossible to combo thru everything and besides you can't use same moves and infinite amount of times cause you will reduce your stagger time by each time you make same art.
what controllers are those other than the wii one

+Mizzle Hizzle Are you pressing and holding R2 to Blast Cancel? That is what causes you to continue your combos.
+That One Azn Dude also, you need some Ekseed (or exceed) to use longer attack chains
NemesisKiller You can also stack 16 of the same skill from your equipment to get the Eternity skill for the longest attack chain as possible, as long as you have SC.
and sorey sacrifice 1 BG to recover 50sc then he able to continuing the combo,, an option is on the battle action..
