If you take the oil filler cap I had a dip stick on it it will get more air to let all the oil out 😳

There is also a cup of oil remaining in the engine that needs to be drained. There is a drain plug on the passenger side of the motor you can reach from underneath.. Masks in 2016???

My 60's strat came with a red interior case. That's weird you got a black one. They should all be red to my knowledge.

Your guitar has layered koa back and sides in satin finish. And those screws that you've been messing around with are there to calibrate the ES2 system, so it's normal to not see any difference. You only hear it when it's plugged. You probably threw it out of balance now.

Standard 214ce has indian rosewood back and sides so not sure why yours is like that?

amazing guitar! I have the original 60's tele in lake placid blue. So happy I bought it before the significant price increase on the original series and then they discontinued the line all together. But I love the black inner case with that white guitar. Red is nice but Black is definitely better for this strat imo . Enjoy it for life!

I have the '50s version. Other than the 6th string being too close to the edge of the board, it is a FAB guitar. Gently turn the box upside down and pull the box off of the case! Your '60 is beautiful.

4 minutes of the box, 2.5 minutes of the case contents, and 40 seconds of the guitar. Perfect.

I'm no expert but It could be maple back and sides ? Ive got 214ce Koa back and sides. Nice playing man!

Enjoy your time with gramps they are awesome teachers from a era where they didn’t call people for help they learned to make and fix everything. My grandpa taught me everything he was my best friend.
