The ferry follows a fixed schedule mostly every day I guess and I think on Fridays it’s hard to get em. You can get these schedules at any guesthouses on local islands!

Whenever you shop for items with VAT refund you get a special slip about that. When you're leaving thailand you can show it at the VAT refund counter along with the items purchased to get a refund in cash after the security check at the airport !

In Cambodia you can withdraw USD from ATMs. USD, Riel and even Thai baht are widely accepted in Cambodia.

I flew from luang prabang to Bangkok for Almost 110$ USD but I just booked 2 days prior. But if you book well ahead you may find cheaper deals.

I think entry to Thailand can be done so but it depends on your passport strength. I didn’t try it but it might be possible.

You're welcome, I'll be sharing more info on Laos in the upcoming vlogs but a typical daily budget would be around 30-50$ USD/PP as Laos is extremely affordable. I was told by the Thai immigration to fly back to Thailand but my Kenyan friend who works in Bangkok usually travels back and forth by road, I think it depends on your passport. But flights would typically cost around 70-80$ USD to Bangkok.

I went here in march which is shoulder season with lesser prices, almost perfect weather. But the best season is from December to February. I suggest anywhere from December to March, but it may rain a bit in march.

I suggest skip staying in male altogether, 2 days maafushi (for watersports and cheap snorkelling tours ), 3 days fulidhoo. Another one is 2 days ukulhas, 3 days thoddoo, these 2 local islands have less crowds and very cozy vibes. Or if you want ultimate paradise 5 days fulidhoo and any nearby local islands

In my opinion the most beautiful beaches are in Fulidhoo and Gulhi, although someone was saying Gulhi is a bit polluted now. Snorkelling can be done on any local island like Fulidhoo, Gulhi, Rasdhoo, Ukulhas for free if you have the equipment. But my personal favourite snorkelling excursion is from Maafushi, they took us to breathtaking reefs and a stunning sandbank too, plus everything on Maafushi is the cheapest in Maldives, thanks to mass tourism there!

Sorry to hear that you had such an experience. I just filmed my own experience and documented it and it was very good when I was there. Maybe it depends on the season or maybe things have gotten worse. I feel may be a little more care and stricter administration would make these local islands a great alternative to the otherwise luxurious resorts. And thanks for sharing your experience, Thoddoo is a great local island in my opinion although my personal favourite is Fulidhoo.

They definitely shoud take more care of what they have! And yes, Thodoo and Fulhidoo were cleaner. All in all we had great experience travilling in the Maldives, we are lucky that could do it. Keep up your travelling habit and also sharing your videos! ​@@ciaokarthik

Such a hidden gem!

You can pay after reaching your guest house but talk to them before arriving in Maldives via WhatsApp or booking.com chat they’ll sort it out for you for a speedboat transfer . I just arranged the transport through my accommodation. Public ferry may take a lot of time and the schedule is kinda confusing.
