Thanks for your take, Doc. It is true, violence is not always the answer. However when there are circumstances as pointed to by the young man, that the public has pretty much thrown the towel in frustration and disgust against a system that is practically shielded by legalities and political interests, at some breaking point, someone will have to stand up and say, "Enough!!!" It is only then that when such a significant act resonates with the majority of the disadvantaged that lawmakers are able to redirect their focus on the things that really matter to the public.
Greedy legislators are Not the answer either
I am not celebrating his death. However, I am not surprised that people are fed up with the lack of empathy and regards of these CEO'S, for the people who they're supposed to be helping. People, are not a commodity and they have no rights to be playing games with people's lives, just for them to get more wealthy; while others are suffering, unnecessarily. "What good does a man to win the whole world if in the process, he loses his soul." The Talmud. He, will be judged by his own personal deeds and by his own Creator.
Insurance companies shouldn’t be allowed to overcharge Americans 🇺🇸 while being able to maximize profits while ruining many families
Assassin? Where are your crocodile tears for the numerous people that died because of his policy s? Correction sir, legislation? Right. Harry Truman, FDR failed at their attempts because of legislation.
Corporate backside got some justice. There are consequences for evil doers in this life and the next .
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
You took an oath and we don't expect you to celebrate anyones death. We admire u for that. Most of us learn that it is taboo to celebrate snyones death, except in movies. But we can be glad that a a terrible scourge that affects millions of us has been exposed because weve had no advocates in government or otherwise. The ( non) health insurance game is the scourge
Thank you for kind words regarding this killing. We should not normalize killing. I want to chalange one statement you made regarding Anthem anesthesia payments. In my view there is coresion going on between the doctors and insurance companies. This is a snipit from Vox that explains. But this particular fight was not actually about putting the interests of patients against those of rapacious corporations. Anthem’s policy would not have increased costs for their enrollees. Rather, it would have reduced payments for some of the most overpaid physicians in America. And when millionaire doctors beat back cost controls - as they have here - patients pay the price through higher premiums.
True, violence is not the answer. On the other hand the insurance companies are saying "let them eat cake". And we all know what happened during the French Revolution. If it can't be resolved through peaceful means, which it hasn't so far. No one has stepped up and said the insurance companies are not necessary. So what does it take to get through to greedy psychopathic CEOs. Who by the way are padding the pockets of our politicians. What is the American public supposed to do? Health insurance companies are responsible for the suffering and death of thousands just so they can make a profit. It's sick. No one is hunting them down for the murder of thousands of people. Sure they are not killing people by gunning them down, but what they are doing is just as bad if not worse in my opinion.
Thank you
I was sentenced to a life of pain poverty & isolation. I had a life after many serious spinal lami/fusions, mostly emergent, cauda equina & other serious severe surgeries starting @ age 35 w/out injury. I was fit to say the least. I had a palliative doctor bcz of severity of my spine disease & cord injury bcz of ignored severe stenosis amongst other related new issues. I was living agn after each traumatic surgery & excited to return to my professional & personal life bcz i fought hard. I fought for my life. After insurance co's started the opioid epidemic (I know the numbers (& so do you) & roughly 89-92% of deaths never had a LEGITIMATE prescription for an opioid. Trump CDC included those who died of cancer & on an opioid even if only @ end of life. Also included self inflicted gunshots to the head to end their pain. Suicide bcz of suffering) After having my medication cut by 70+% w/no addiction issues, phys yes, of course. I now live in a bed in constant severe pain in need of 2 more spine surgeries to be completely fused & broken hardware they cant fixm& hv for yrs & they wont do them bcz they are so painful they say they cant control the pain. Yes they can! They just won't. I hv a huge tolerance. Im not trying to get high. Im try to live. My highs are seeing my family on holidays & being w/ fam & friends. Med mar doesnt help. They made billions on not paying for these nec medications. The govt (Trump admin) did this. I know how this has hurt good doctors like you & I'm so sorry. It's shameful & sinful. Its only going to get worse now if even possible. Individualized care & 1st do no harm! This is government & greed too! Thank you. Lastly, it's CARFENTANIL NOT FENTANYL! This man had & many others like him including govt hv so much blood on his hands
The jackals are the health "care" 😅 They play Russian roulette w/patient lives. DENY DENY DENY they w/legitimate life sustaining &/or sustaining claims. EVIL BEGETS EVIL. 1ST DO NO HARM. Evil @ it's core. How many people has this man killed?!
Thank you for commenting.
I've been following the investigation of Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare assassination, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly disappointed in the American society. I've watched hundreds of videos on the case so far and I can't believe the multitudes of people who are making a "hero" out of the assassin. This is NOT right. A man was killed. A wife was made a widow. Children are now without a father. A family has been devastated. Our society has devolved into depraved indifference. Our humanity has been discounted. In no way is this kind of behavior justified. And, it should not be elevated as being acceptable.
Every cent of profit for these healthcare vultures is a cent taken from patient care. The rich have always fed at the trough but now they want to open our veins and suck us dry. Capitalism with no checks and balances just makes us...well most of us....victims to the corruption and greed of the top 1%. I don't have any solutions so this is more of a primal scream than anything else. The assassin found his solution and while I don't want to ill wish harm to anyone it may be inevitable that this happens again.
They celebrated ever mother, father, son, daughter and so ons death by having meetings of how they signed death warrants for thous. People are tired of it,he was a horrible person.
CEO drinks coffee and eats cake while old folks don't get a wheelchair to leave the house. That's exactly why people are annoyed. 10 Mio dollar in commission for denying people's claims. They suffer !!!
REPEAT AFTER ME, Insurance is a PONZI SCHEME
Think of what led to this person doing such a horrific thing? Like many who lost loved ones because of these people, anger and grief controls their thinking. Yes, it has come to this. This has become the start of the French Revolution all over again. History repeats itself, sad but true.😢
How many people died because they could not get approved for a procedure.
Anesthesiologists do not get enough recognition.
Oh well. American people are fed up.
Thank you for sharing. This is some of the introductory information on specializations that should be taughy.
Well he wasn’t poor because he was denied medical care. Save Dark Robin Hood.
I understand the anger of a family member who is watching a loved one suffer from a painful, possibly fatal illness and has to deal with the expense of insurance, the coldness of computer messages from corporate insurance companies, the expense of copays for treatment, hospitals and meds and the frustration of finding a human to speak to for customer service. Add to this the uncaring coldness of the employer who provides crap insurance at a high cost or government insurance also at a high cost. My son has been ill since he was diagnosed at 24 with a rare liver disorder. He had a living donor liver transplant at 32 and is now 40. He has worked during the entire time and is fortunate to have a caring employer but his employer was sold the sold again and each time the insurance changed and the frustration of dealing with the new insurance, not better insurance, has been difficult. I was a benefits administrator for 5 years, taking grief from employers, insurance companies and employees so I know how it works. I cannot imagine your average person dealing with all this without an experienced person to assist them. My son is a brave, intelligent, loving man and I am there for him. I don’t know what the young man who shot the CEO has gone through but I do know he didn’t have the help he or someone he loved needed. His story will be important.
We’ve been pointing out the inconsistencies for decades. How’d that work out for us?
Well this aged poorly. The only thing this did was make the insurance companies change their minds about the anesthetic cap. The only thing this did was decrease insurance denials by almost 100%. Even if the insurance companies go back to denying 50% of the claims as they did before, each days' break will have saved lives and helped thousands who would have otherwise been denied. The fact that the investors just went on with the meeting once they found out he was not coming really shows them for the ghouls they are. This man technically saved lives. I think it is worthy to note that the oligarchy has noticed that the most well armed population in the world who lost pretty much every other right than the right to bear arms. Is about to use their last right against them.
What do you think the shareholders are doing? They are celebrating the death of policy holders when it makes them money.
If insurance is mandatory for every citizen to have health insurance, home insurance car insurance, it should not be a publicly traded company on the stock market. There is no way to do the best service for customers and be publicly traded. Buying Super Bowl ads and then raising our ratesabsolutely not.
Republicans robbed the American citizens by rejecting universal healthcare proposed by the Clinton administration in the 90’s
I don't agree with the CEO being shot but at the same time how many claims did he have a hand in denying?
Healthcare shouldn't be a source of wealth building for corporations. The path forward is to follow the European countries.
We don't have many choices when it comes to insurance. You are cheated no matter what in many cases. It's obviously contemptible to limit anesthesia in coverage of surgery, and that's just one example. CEO's of companies making millions and millions by denying coverage are evil.
2:50 “This poor man’s death”? You certainly don’t seem to mind all of the deaths he caused just line his pockets. The rich are being served what they asked for, Bon appétit 2:50
Anthem insurance reversed their plan to restrict anesthesia payments the day after the assassination. Clearly it was a related decision.
Brian Thompson was responsible for causing the death & illness of MILLION$ of sick people over his 20+ YEARS at United Healthcare (making it the MOST profitable healthcare by rejecting 32% of all claims - TWICE the industry average of 16%). He was bad as any war criminal or serial k*ller. And the Justice Shooter a/k/a 'The Adjuster' who happened to pull the trigger is a Folk Hero to the millions of Americans whose lives he destroyed. RIH Brian Thompson
the guys company in a leaked phone call was celebrating denying claims, laughing. thanks for your opinion doc...
Celebrating is when I pop champagne and cheer. I just give this guy a nod and a thumb up.
You can't fix the system until the "for profit" is taken out. Unfortunately, that's who is running it.
I wonder doctor, have you ever tried to get coverage for something that a person truly needs, that is costly, through their health insurance. I'm sure most of us have desperately tried to explain to our insurance why we need to be covered, should be covered.
The only legislation has been for the wealthy!!!
no more cold blooded than what the health insurance companies do.
We as human beings strive for justice. If the companies think they can buy themselves out of justice we strive for other things.
I do not celebrate but also I do not care much the guy was a killer that got kill.
Get it right... Delay, Deny, Depose.
All of this world is a can of worms. Or...Pandora's Husband's box- (it wasn't even hers)...and all of the contents need examined. Nice coat you have on-I'm certain it cost more than I could afford in 6 months! Certain I would receive a response to that comment would be I earned it. Wellll....your privilege of male/white/contacts/good schooling/more contacts/more schooling/ceaseless support provided the means. If you used your status/position/rank you could have perhaps fought for a level field where no CEO would sell of shares of of necessities such as medical coverage-let alone fight for restrictions of weapons. Pandora let lose sorrow, disease, vice, violence, greed, madness, old age, and death.....so was it Pandoras husband who opened the box-blaming his wife, just like we blame those stretched to the breaking point?
depose not de·ceased
I do not celebrate violence, but I can't find sympathy for this CEO. The shooter is becoming a "Robin Hood" and his act is going to change things. "medicine" in these modern times is not about health care but of profits. We BOTH know that, I am a 4th Gen Christian Science Healer (NOT scientology and I don't go to church). I haven't been doctored since grade school shots and I'm 72 and look 50. So I KNOW there is a better way.
This man’s death may go down in history as the initiating event for healthcare reform in the US… I’d be happy to celebrate a Brian Whoever day in the future if this would come to pass. We need a one payer system. Period. Compared to the healthcare in the other industrialized countries in the world, our system is barbaric.
