Remember when AI art used to be fun, kinda sucky at its job and mildly concerning cuz of the possibilities and problems it may cause and people didn’t hate it? Now it’s actually terrifying cuz of the whole fighting for our jobs thing and those worries have been realized but it’s still pretty cool to see it get good. All in about 2 years too

Just discovered these AI images for song lyrics. Few of the images engender positive emotions/feelings/impressions. This leads me to conclude that the underlying programming has been shaded by persons whose inner thoughts are less than benign. Sterling Archer may be an animated character and his preoccupation with cyborgs is played for laughs but occasionally satire is unintentionally ironic as in this case.

I imagine a sort of story to this. The story could be that a human girl lives pretending to be a robot in a robot world. She discovers there is a legendary Sandman, the closest thing to human left. It is omnipresent through all soil in the world, but currently lays dormant in a temple. The girl finds the temple and unleashes him. To thank her the Sandman promises to grant her a dream or wish. She wants to find another human that is in hiding like her, for some company, and the Sandman and her search around the world for a human. The Sandman finally finds him but the girl is on the other side of the world. She makes it her mission to eventually meet up with the man, and must tread through deserts and sail across vast seas to find him. In the end they get married and have children in a secluded forest, and they live the rest of their life humbly.

I feel like, to an extent, these pictures can actually tell some story. At least, with some creative interpretation. The 'Sandman' in this reality is a fearsome being of great power that lives in his own dimension, sealed away long ago in an endless desert to protect the earth from his capabilities. The powers in question? He can conjure living beings with his unique magic, and give them any visual appearance and a flimsy physicality by simply having access to any excess inorganic matter, like sand and dirt: the most convenient materials available. When he was sealed away, he could still tap in to the minds of and control all of his creations despite not being able to manipulate their bodies. However, he still could not puppeteer them to fight or really do *any* physical feats due to them being made of just loose matter. So he had to rely on the psychological manipulation of real people through his puppets. His ultimate goal? To break the magic seal that contains him- at the price of a willing human sacrifice.

This is absolutely frightening to anyone with any brains.

From a cute old song, to the stuff of nightmares. The “give him two lips like roses and clover” image is no, regrettably, burned into my psyche.

The thing about this song is that it’s so peaceful, it can be creepy I just think of this song is a nice song but some people don’t If you didn’t know they also use a hand pan throughout the song I think...

What scares me is that this is just the _beginning_ of AI capabilities. And that people are rightfully discouraged to learn to make art. Human artists will become a very rare thing.
