Just your average knife nut with a passion for sharpening.
I've carried a knife since I was a little kid, 6-7 years old, and that was 25+ years ago. Like many of you, my Dad taught me about hunting and fishing and the tools that are needed for those sports. At a young age I couldn't carry a gun everywhere but my Dad did let me carry a pocket knife; been carrying one ever since.
I taught myself how to sharpen a knife after damaging my fair share of good blades. Through the years my skills and my tools have improved. In the last few years (since about 2013) I started sharpening all my knives to a polished mirror finish. That caught the attention of my friends who are also a bunch of knife nuts and I started sharpening their knives. MIA Blade Works was born - Founded Jan 3rd, 2018.
Send us your knife for a fresh mirrored edge.

Emerson Super Commander Pt2 - Finishing the work Knife came in severely chipped. We had to start with 100grit diamond stones to remove material and get rid of the chips/nicks in the blade. This video picks up from 200grit diamond and takes you through completion at 4mu/2mu strops. Paper cutting test at the end to prove its sharp. Knife was sharpened using a Wicked Edge sharpening system. MIA Bl...

Emerson Super Commander Pt1 - Why Repairs Cost more... This knife came in severely chipped and required repairs. We normally start our sharpening process at 400grit. This knife required going down to 100grit in order to remove enough material to get rid of the chip/nicks in the blade. Check out part 2 to see the finished product. Short Review of Spyderco Endura 4 Emerson
Hey man I just wanted to say thanks and to tell you that this is a really really really shitty video on the reassembly of an infidel. You don’t have very good POV on the reassembly but, I did find it was easier to toss the springs in first then wedge the arms and the pivot pin assembly into place second. Figured I’d post this here incase anyone else is still struggling to reassemble their knive.
Show us how you sharpened the Emerson.
Nice! Best design Emerson ever made, just sayin
Great how to. I watched all 3 parts. Where to get replacement springs etc? Also, did you oil certain areas while you had it apart?
Hi! This is a shot in the dark here, but would you be able to assemble my Mini Infidel if I mailed it to you? Benchmade refuses to ship back OTF knives to non-LEO people, and I cannot find anyone locally who can do it. My knife is totally disassembled (it’s a long story), but I have all of the parts and screws. You would just have to put it back together. If you’re able to do this, please let me know. Thank you!
❤ my Inf otf.🥲/ my buck 110 auto is side 😂😂😂😂
I carried one of these for a decade as my daily carry, if benchmade still made them I'd be carrying one now
Directions unclear I cut my finger off
You almost stabbed yourself 😂😂🤣
The most overpriced otf. Cost 450 worth 250
I find that dry lubes like Hornady One Shot, or Finish Line Dry bike chain lube work best. Wet lubes tend to attract and trap dirt.
No help
thats like a $2000 knife , i have the smaller knife
Заебись 👍
Dude holy shit.. I regret getting this knife.. microtech all the way from now on.
I have this knife and Ive had nothing but problems with it. It often doesnt pop out smoothly and I keep finding that the screws keep falling out
Bro bought a Chinese truck stop knock off and is complaining😂
Send link please
Very nice!
I like my knife. Did have to take off the activator side and remove a small piece of debris that was causing poor opening. No big deal. Love the knife.
This is was benchmades hay day
Great video man. Beautiful mechanics in this knife
Microtech is 1000 times more robust and easy to maintain.
Man to whoever wants to get this blade i highly suggest you dont you dont unless you wanna deal with having to dissasemble the whole thing in order to get it to work. Iam gonna sell this pos. Iam just gonna stick to the recon-elite blades way friendly maintance cleaning and dissasembly. Unlike this piece of crap.
That's what he gets for buying an OTF. I have always said they are garbage and I will never own one. They have too many failure points, are high maintenance, and unreliable. A total waste of money.
that is a 100% counterfeit infidel
Great job on the sharping that’s real nice 👍🏻
Mine stopped working won’t deploy period not sure I am comfortable taking it apart it may never work again 😂
Wow just spent an hour learning the interworkings and tear-down trying to repair and this is all I needed to do. Amazing!
Very helpful video. For a brand new mini-infidel, is it normal to rattle a little bit?
Do yall still do this service?
That’s a fake fake infidel. Real ones are milled differently.
I lost some of my leaf springs and benchmade is ignoring me. Am I just boned?
I have the mini and the full size. I rarely use the full size but it occasionally doesn't eject right and feels loose compared to the mini which is very tight and quick to eject but also very difficult to retract. The trigger slide is super stiff and difficult to move. Do I need to take them apart and adjust them? Glad I found this video because I've been terrified to take these knives apart lol.
What size is the pin punch you use to extract the pins in the firing switch? I'm having a hell of a time...
Hello! I am desperate to learn the screw specs. Mainly the tiny screw at the base of the knife blade. Can you help?
Ok so I would get a microtech your welcome bye
Wow!!! Were you able to keep the chisel edge or did you reprofile? Also what sharpening system did you master to get that beautiful edge on a recurve? Thanks and excellent job!
What size star head did you use. Also do you know the size of the screws. I know one side is bigger then other. I strip a few of them trying to use a allen wrench ouch
This knife is not a full duty knife,it's self defense. Every tool serves its purpose. Use it like it was designed for and it will never fail you.
Can I send you my mini infidel for repair?
Ever try to put heavier springs in it ?
Do you still do repairs on these? I have one in need of one I can send you
Do you still work on these? I have one that needs to be fixed.
Kinda seems like it’s not necessary to remove the trigger/button.
It is... I've been trying to reassemble mine without removing the pins in the firing switch... I've tried every which way (including the way described in a comment above) and... no. I have to find a punch small enough now 🤦♂
What angle did you use
What kind of lube do you use?
Can I send in mine for cleaning and repair?
it would take a little oil also to the vocal cords
my dad gave me his benchmade 9700(?) auto knife with a broken spring and i finally got a replacement! .50 coil is what you need! but i’m so excited to rebuild this ive watched my dad use it for YEARS! this will help me a lot even tho it’s slightly different!
Just sent mine back to Benchmade & they repaired, sharpened & cleaned
