I found a “ How to win at Canasta” book by Oswald Jacoby ( famous bridge player) in my great grandmother’s lake house. I cost a $1, is dated 1949 and assures readers they will become addicted to the “ South American Rummy game sweeping the nation!”

The computer canasta I purchased is different. You only draw one card,and according to your score, you have to get either 50,90,or 120 points before you can even get in the game. You only have to make one canasta to go out. It's fun, but it has it perks. For example, when you have to get the 90 or 120 points to start playing, you may never get in the game before the other team yells, "Can I go out. Especially if you don't pull the jokers worth 50 points ,the Aces or the duce which are worth 20 points. I rarely get dealt spreads to begin with .So I see it's easier in person because there are no requirement points to start the play,and it looks like you draw 2 cards from the deck instead of one. Looks like the meld requirements are the same, though.

what is the reason for melding only 3x5's in the first round rather than 4x5's? and then in the second round the meld miraculously changes to a 4x5 meld. what is this bro?

This is not good. You haven't explained what the aim of the game is, so I'm just having to try and remember this long list of details you're giving me without knowing why I need to know them.

I liked the video. It was easier to follow the directions when Hoatian and William played the game and you (Kevin) narrated the game. I’m going to try and play the game with my son.thanks for showing me how the game is played and where it’s origins are.
