It's like going to a playground or park you visited as a kid, a place once full of life and memories, and returning to it years later only to find it completely empty-no people, nothing, just you. It's that eerie vibe you get when you see the spots where those great moments in life happened, and there you are, standing in the same spot, but now the feeling you get is one of emptiness, with the phantoms of the past haunting you. It's unsettling, making you want to leave or try to bring life back to it.

When u said if u go back to an old game and see around f the maps and look at what u missed I’m gonna remember it but at the same time as a kid I would always walk around the maps before going to the objective it was so fun to explore and see how far u can go ( all cod games )

Some may find this unsettling or creepy, but for me I feel a sense of sadness and a little teary-eyed because I can't help but remember how lively these maps were and all the fun memories I have playing from this. Seeing how empty this is nowadays is low-key depressing to watch

In the Hangar map, 5:56, the room you're in has a dead soldier. If you stay long enough, you'll hear two voices, Japanese and American, and it sounds like the latter is being tortured.

When i was younger, i would do this. It's scary that you can hear whispers and a girl crying and other sounds in Asylum. Especially, when by yourself. When i heard it i would quit the game right away.

the F.E.A.R multiplayer maps are already designed to be unsettling never mind when they are empty

you think this is Wild you should try playing grifball in Halo and getting both teams to go peaceful for the match and see how that makes you feel when it actually happens. theres an objective, real people on both teams that could kill eachother instantly with the press of a trigger... theres so much to explain its better to just experience it for yourself a few times. im not sure if theres anything else so uncomfortably wholesome or wholesomely uncomfortable.

i hopped into a random battle field 3 server that hosted the aftermath expansion, it was empty and extremely unsettling, someone ended up joining an i couldnt seem to find him and he couldn’t find me, after about 2 minutes he leave an it was just me, the most unsettling feeling i got while playing a game in a long time

Because we expect a war game which should be full of people shooting but instead we get an eerie silence and nobody around, that's what makes it creepy

the sound effects.. the atmosphere.. but when you do this alone where you walk around in an empty map. you will start getting scared by nothing. and leave

Gmod is probably the worst game to play singleplayer. Youre not alone when you play construct by yourself theres living history in that map and its creepy asf

for me, why some multiplayer maps feel this way (even if it's still an active game, i just load some with bots or just to inspect) is because you feel like being watch, specially with maps that have somewhat historical feel, like CoD WaW. It's so silent, and all you hear is background noise and your own footsteps, but that emptiness is what makes it feels so creepy.
