Kids need chores, responsibilities, skills, etc. “I’m bored” is a cuss phrase in my house. My kids have never said it. ONE time, I had like 6 kids over so they could all play and one of them had the audacity to come tell me she was bored. I gave her a broom and put her to work

Addiction is a challenge to overcome, be there for them, give them the resources they need, reassure them and provide them love and encouragement- but it is THEIR challenge to overcome. If you as a parent force them not to use devices or force them to go alternative routes out of fear and worry, you are ROBBING them of the opportunity to grow through their own accomplishment! It’s okay to let kids mess up or get themselves in awful situations, because they can trust you’ll be there to teach them how to get out of it Think about it, you would be teaching them how to be strong and resilient for when you can no longer be there so they can carry on the torch for their little ones
