the only reason I'm watching this video is because Gazi scammed me into it.

Most Game Boy games didn't actually have a specific pallete on the GBC; this one is no exception. Rather it defaults to a background and a foreground colour. When booting up these games on a GBC, you can press a direction on the D-Pad as well as one of the face buttons to change between one of I believe it's 12 palletes.

There are a few clever puzzles where you have to let an X parasite survive to form a new enemy to get the item from the room; the secret room you enter at 22:50 is one example.

So the thing about sector 6 - NOC - is that it was designed for the original GBA screen - which doesn't have a backlight. While there's that little ring around Samus in those areas, within that ring is all the player would have been able to see, and death could be hiding around any corner, making the area a lot more tense than when playing on newer devices - like later model GBASPs or DSs or re-releases like this one.
