Revelation 20:1-7 says, "Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a THOUSAND years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the THOUSAND years were finished. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a THOUSAND years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the THOUSAND years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a THOUSAND years. 7 Now when the THOUSAND years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison." Six times in the above verses it says a "THOUSAND" years. BUT NO! The Preterist in order to make Preterism fit says no it does NOT really mean a THOUSAND. It really means forty. Look, if you say a "thousand" is a metaphor for forty, that makes no sense. A metaphor has to shed some figurative or metaphorical sense on whatever you are speaking about. For instance: when Jesus is called the "Bread of Life" the metaphorical meaning is just like bread gives physical nourishment, so Jesus give spiritual nourishment. If you were talking about Usain Bolt, the world record holder in the 100-meter sprint and the 200-meter sprint you could "metaphorically" call him a cheetah and everyone would get the metaphorical meaning: just like the cheetah is the fastest land animal, so Usain Bolt is the fastest human. BUT what is the metaphorical significance of saying 1000 when you really mean 40? There is NONE.

The first heaven and first earth of Genesis 1 passed away in AD 70 (Rev 21:1) This was the earth that God laid the foundations of in the beginning. Like the old Covenant, the old heaven and earth God made in the beginning grew old and vanished away in AD 70 at the shaking of his hand and the consuming of his fire! (Heb 1:10-11, 12:25-29).

Romans 11:25 says, "For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved..." The point is WHOEVER Israel is, (some argue for national Israel, some for Spiritual Israel) they can't be saved UNTIL ALL the Gentiles that are going to be saved (the FULLNESS of the gentiles) are finally saved, and THEN will "all Israel" whoever you say they are, be saved. Are you saying ALL the Gentiles who will ever be saved, got saved in the first century? Then 1900 years of people professing Jesus SINCE the first century, were TOO late and are NOT really saved. That means you and me as well. I am saying, "NO the fullness of the Gentiles did NOT happen in the first century, and you and I did NOT believe in Christ in vain. AND I believe there have been 1900 years or 49 generations of people coming to Jesus Christ and being born again. Each person in the last 49 generations are fulfilled prophecy of people turning to Christ for the forgiveness of sin. If ALL Israel and All Gentiles were saved in the first Century, then ALL witnessing and ministry is a complete waste of time. Can you not see that is exactly what Satan wants: "Don't waste your time. It too late." Again, everyone fits in one of these categories: Jew (Israel) or Gentile. I believe prophecy is being fulfilled EVERY day: some Jews are being saved, and even more Gentiles are coming to Christ. I am assuming you are saved. Are you Jewish in your ethnicity? If NOT, then according to the Bible, you are a Gentile. Bottom line is this: IF ALL prophecy was fulfilled in the first century then NOBODY was saved AFTER the first century. ALL people saved are either in the PROPHESIED "All Israel" or the "Fullness of the Gentiles."

This is a weird interpretation of the kingdom's starting with Babylon, Persia, Greece, and then Rome. The Stone Kingdom is Israel and always will be. You people are kind of kooky.

A good study on Revelation is E. R. Elliots Horae Apocalypticae. Amazon carries it. The entire book is in 4-five volumes and is a very intense study of Revelation answering the Preterist question and the Futurist question. The Church used to know that Revelation can be understood by a study of the Bible and History together as Jesus said about these things about to take place and as we see in history that Rome rose to power as the Pagan Roman Empire, received a deadly wound which was healed by the papacy taking it's place as the Holy Roman Empire. "The use of "ginomai" (to happen) in the New Testament reflects a Hebraic understanding of God's active role in history and creation. It underscores the dynamic nature of God's interaction with the world, where His will and purposes are realized in time and space." Jesus Christ is the King of Israel, we sing about this around Christmas time..."Born is the King of Israel". Why do we sing this type of song instead of the antichrist Jews? It's because we are Israel and the Jews are liars as Jesus stated, "say they are Jews, aka Judah, but are liars. We sing to our Savior, the Redeemer of Israel and no other people. Why people can't understand this is strange to me, but I've been looking for the kingdom since 1975 and have found it. We are Israel, now called Christians first in Antioch, and heirs of the Kingdom and no other nation or people are heirs to the kingdom.

The only person Jesus identified directly as satan was Peter when he said, “Get behind me, satan.” Peter was an ardent apostle of Christ and a writer of scripture. Do we really want to have the word “satan” be a proper noun for the "super human enemy of God" or can we agree the word “satan” is a common noun?

Does the bible have no answer for all this rebellious sin against our Holy God? Does the Bible not prophesy that God and His Christ will win out and put an end to sin? Period? Hyper Preterism is blasphemy! 2 Peter 2:13 say, "Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells." You can't possibly think this world is a world "...in which righteousness dwells." AGAIN, we live in a world of murder, rape, child pornography, sex trafficking, drugs, alcohol, fornication, adultery, LGBTQ, and colleges teaching Godless Big Bang theory and Darwinian Evolution rather than "...In the beginning, God created..." This can't be the prophesied world ruled in righteousness by God and His Christ. It is either a false prophecy or it is FUTURE.

This is a great presentation of this critical aspect of understanding the one true eschatology. I have tried to share this aspect with futurists (i.e. denominational "churches", dispensationalists, etc.).....and they are blinded and cannot see the truth. Hopefully one day they are called from the darkness and into the light.

Thanks for another nugget. My2Cents is this... Futurism is inconsistent Christianity. Christians believe, Yeshua was born of a virgin, walked on water, paid for sin, rose again from the dead, etc. They do so without any physical evidence or historical proof. They unwaveringly hold fast to thise beliefs up until the last letter in the Bible. When they read Revelation all of the sudden they won't believe what it says. Soon, quickly, shortly coming to pass, at hand can't be true because they don't have physical evidence or historical proof in history that looks like, what they "THINK" those promised things should or would have looked like. At the end of the day... A Preterist walks by faith believing Yeshua did what He said He was going to do soon, 2,000 years ago. Preterists then look at history and THEORIZE about what events were Yeshua doing what He said He would do, when He said He would do them........ Non-Preterists don't see any physical evidence or historical proof that Yeshua did what He said He was going to do soon, 2,000 years ago. Non-Preterists then THEORIZE about why Yeshua DIDN'T do what He said He would do, when He said He would do them. The inconvenient truth is... If Yeshua didn't do WHAT He told the seven churches He was going to do, WHEN He said He would do them. Why would anybody think the "WHAT" that is said would happen is ever going to happen. What I know within me is that the 70th week was from 63 - 70 AD. James, the brother of Jesus, the bishop of the church in Jerusalem was killed in 63 AD, so I based my reckoning on it.

There's a Yoruba saying that translates as "Heaven shall fall will not be on one person's head," meaning a massive disaster will affect a massive number of people and not just one person. The only difference is I don't believe this is limited to only the original twelve disciples, but all Christian disciples even today and until the end times are complete. I also believe the sheep and the goats are all unbelievers and not just 1st century Jews.
