Here is my Tile Titan's Block 5 video. Tools include the Mini Multi Arc, Between the Lines Circle 1.5", Simple Circle Set 2 - 2.5" Circle, and the Curly Q 11.5" Wide and the 10.5' from Curly Q Set 2.
I have the mini multi arcs on hand as well as both the Between the Lines Sets and the Simple Circle Set 2. I can order the Curly q Sets for anyone that wants one. Check out my web store www.FabriKatedQuilts.com or message me for more information by using the email link on my webpage.
Other Circles can be used in place of the ones I have chosen to use if you have them of course. I really like the 1.5" size that is in the Between the Lines set.

    Newbie to FMQ. My first practice sandwich looked OK with same color thread top and bottom. I was able to get rid of the eye lashing. So I switched bobbin to a different color. Lets just say YUCK! lol I did end up taking about 1/16th of a turn out of the bottom tension as I was pushing over 8 tension on top. Now about 4.5 top with mostly good results all around. I believe putting same colors top and bottom will be almost un-noticeable. Now to work on a bunch more practice sandwiches in my future.

    Do you drop the feed dog? How do you regulate your speed as you quilt. Do you count in your head, listen to music what?

    • @katequinnoffabquilts
      @katequinnoffabquilts 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I listen to the sound of the machine actually. I call it the machine lullaby. If the sound is making me anxious and frustrated, I know the speed is too high. If the needle is dragging and feel like I am trying to push the needle, then the machine is too slow. I recommend starting with the speed in the middle and adjusting up or down based on the appearance. If the stitches look too long, speed up the machine and if they look too small slow it down.

    THE BEST! Starting ruler work & learned so much common, good technique. If I had someone ask me for advice I'm sending them to your videos! Absolutely loved the "listening & acclimating to machine speed" that is comfortable... because it's soooo true, I have experienced the rush of stress & mistakes that accompany the too fast whizzing or the too slow turtle machine sounds, because it truly does play upon our mind and actions of our movements! Thank you for bringing this to light & actually verbalizing it. I'd never thought about the machine speed sounds causing enjoyment or stress while sewing. I've subscribed & looking forward to every lesson you bring our way! Blessings to You and Yours

    • @katequinnoffabquilts

      The grip tape should go against the fabric. It makes the template “stick” to the fabric and then the template and fabric can move together more smoothly.

    Beautiful work! I am totally intrigued by the table you put on the machine you quilt on. It's a cutting mat, right? How does that work please? Is it glossed? My cutting mat is non-slip and full of scars from cutting fabric😀.

    • @katequinnoffabquilts
      @katequinnoffabquilts 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I spoke through the setting because my machine is very specific and it will not help the general public if they try to do it the same. Each quilt sandwiches and batting and machine will have its own quilts or requirements. The basic direction is that the foot needs to be as low as possible to stitch well while not preventing you from moving. If this was a Janome channel I would do that and have a video regarding that if you need it, but my channel is brand non specific so I did not do that here.
