    Hi Viktor, that is a Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar. None of the studio guitars (as far as I know) had body binding. I recently did a conversion of a 2010 Studio (with P-90 pickups) to a standard. I disassembled the entire guitar as well as removed the neck and fingerboard. I installed binding on the body as well as the fingerboard. I also refretted it and installed vintage correct inlays. As a final touch to the conversion, I also installed a mother of peal Gibson head stock logo.I reassembled everything using hot hide glue, and refinished it as a Gold top. I enjoyed your video, you have a nice Les Paul project ahead of you! 👍

      Hi jrumiano! 👍Thank you for watching my videos and the useful information! But I'm afraid that according to the previous owner and the new owner, it's a Tribute. And I asked the manufacturer based on the serial number. Then I read the related P90 pre-assembled series and based on that I said in the video. But despite this, it's possible that it's a Studio guitar! The guitar was brought to me only for repainting, which has a fixed value frame, I made the binding extra, so I have to include it in the expenses! So that's why I didn't remove the neck and the fingerboard! Maybe you made a video of the operation, I would like to watch it, ? Thanks again for the comment and I hope that you will like the rest of the series! I continue to wait for your useful comments!👍

    Are the pickups wax potted? Are they ceramic?

    • @lieszkovszkyGuitars1973
      @lieszkovszkyGuitars1973 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Andrew! Oh, I forgot to mention that! Yes, it's ceramic magnet, but it sounds better than the ceramic core pickups in Ibanez from the 90's! This EMG® RetroActive Super 77 Set is a great match with the 0.1 microfarad oil paper capacitor. This is the first ceramic pickup that can deliver clear highs, mids and lows!

      It's a matter of perspective! They only make a few pieces a year, and you have to wait years for them! You only come across one like this once, or not at all! A rare piece!

    I had one of these come to me for a faulty pickup and set-up, it turned out to be a faulty volume pot. I was impressed with the build quality, the frets were level and the neck was a perfect fit, the ferrules stayed in the body when I replaced the strings, the ferrules falling out is a common problem I find with import guitars. The only things I had to do with the setup was some slight adjustment with the saddles and intonation and a slight adjustment to the truss rod, the guitar had been factory set-up for 10 gauge strings, the customer was using 9 gauge, he had experienced some tuning issues, this was due to a badly cut nut, although this was not the factory nut, it was a Graphite nut but had not been precision filed or even cut to size, it was protruding off the edges of the fretboard, it had been fitted straight from the packet by the customers friend, it was so bad, the first fretted notes were all over the place. I replaced the pot with a CTS 250k, the customer was impressed with the smooth operation of this pot and later asked me to replace the tone pot with one and an Orange Drop cap. Although I have experienced lots of guitars built at the Cortek factory it was the first with the Cort name on the headstock.

      @lieszkovszkyGuitars1973 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Andrew! Great, thank you for the valuable information you provided! Unfortunately, I'm not a good video maker, but I also found a factory defect that I forgot to videotape, but I told the owner. This is a long-scale guitar, so 24 frets were put on it from the factory. So the scale length is 648 millimeters. But the rear bridge is placed in such a way that the E1 string must be set all the way back for the intonation to be good in both (12-24) octaves. Therefore, the A and E6 strings can no longer be adjusted, unfortunately. So the entire bridge would have to be placed 5-8 millimeters back to be good.

    I have this same guitar, I bought mine in 1982, I love it, the action is super low and no buzzing whatsoever, it didn't come like that though, I had it set up at the store I bought it from and had a Fishman pre-amp fitted with a strap button output and a bone nut and saddle fitted. Mine is in perfect condition, I have looked after it, I have some humidifier units that slip into the sound hole, but before I got those I used to put a wet sponge in a sealable plastic box with holes drilled in it and with two spring loaded rebated semi circles of wood that kept it held in the sound hole, it was a bit Heath Robinson but it did the job and I had great fun making them.

      @lieszkovszkyGuitars1973 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Andrew! So, can it be original Japanese? Congratulations, it surely bring you a lot of joy when you get your instrument to play! Yes, humidity is very important for the guitar! You did a great job! I recommend to anyone who has an acoustic guitar that the bathroom is the most humid place in the house. Therefore, you can leave it there for a whole night once a month and it will do it good! It will not be damaged, but rather good help of it!👍

    Hello Viktor! I have an 1995 Gibson Nighthawk SP-2. I want to equip it with a Floyd Rose tremolo. Which type would i order? Will any FRX tremolo fit? Thx

    • @lieszkovszkyGuitars1973
      @lieszkovszkyGuitars1973 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Daniel! First of all, thank you for watching my videos and thank you for your question! This is a difficult question because I don't have the guitar physically in front of me, but I'll try to answer it, which would require a lot of measurements! 1. Are the necks of the two guitars the same? So what should the pitch distribution be, the scale? 2. You need to mill the FR, and on your guitar it's made of mahogany. And it's a soft wood, you also need to insert a steel plate across it, which between the 2-piece support leg holds onto. 3. How thick is the guitar neck so that the strings coming from the tremolo (E6,E1) are at least 2mm from the edge of the neck. Because otherwise, when you solo, the string will slip off and get caught in the end of the metal fret. 4. The tremolo should not be too high or thick, so that you don't have to cut too much out of the guitar body, so that you don't have to adjust the string height too much. So the best purchase and installation is really the FRX. The distance between the E6-E1 strings is 52.1 mm. If it is suitable for the width of the neck, then it is good. The Special is 54 mm. I hope I could help. If you need further help, find me on Facebook, I can help you there in Hungarian too!

    Viktor What do you think of the Ibanez battery bass boost on some Ibanez basses? I have one on mine and love it. I love to really push the bottom end hard and somtimes have used pedals with variations for sound modifications. I like to have a little more than just a average bottom end sound. I know it's not something most bass players do however I guess its ok to be a little unique. ThankYou! Ray in the 🇺🇸 👍🏻

I also cut pieces from that to insert into the middle of the spring! Or I can get uw-resistant rubber tubing by the meter at my local hardware store and pull a couple of centimeters of it on. Or heat shrinkable black rubber tubing for soldering. But for 20-25€ I can also get coated springs,👍

Yes, to lower it, turn it counterclockwise, and to raise it, turn it clockwise! 2. yes, the black screws always have to be loosened before adjusting! 3. Thanks Daniel for the comment, Yes you are right! The owner asked for 6 strings because they are not only playing Rolling Stones songs, but also a massive 4 hour concert with about 10 artists. So the guitar has to meet other criteria too!

    Hemage is a German company and the guitars are handmade in Germany, it is strange that they are using the US Imperial size truss rods. You would think that them being a boutique company that charges a lot of money for their guitars that thy would come properly set up, over the years I have found the more I pay for a guitar the worse the set up is, I have bought guitars under £200 that have been perfectly set up from the factory.

Between the hospital and Tesco, there's a favorite of mine, the NADAO PUB. Great permanent band, large concert hall, cold drinks, good food and everything you need! It can be seen in another of my videos!

      Thanks Gary! Yes, many people like this neck radius. I've seen similar ones on PRS and ESP-LTD guitars, I think they work under a Gibson License. I used an angle grinder to do the belly cut and arm contour on a kit tele. I think it was much easier and quicker than what you are doing here! The body was made of poplar wood which is a little softer and lighter than ash which I am guessing is your body wood?

Unfortunately, I don't speak English well, but I said in the video that unfortunately I have now closed my rented workshop where I could do these loud operations, I am now doing this in the living room of my apartment. Since I live in a condominium and have 4 neighbors, I thought I would show you how to do this without machines! Of course, the most accurate way is to cut it with a CNC machine in 5 minutes! Also, I personally like the Japanese handwork line very much and I try to make every task in this way!

      Hi! Thanks for watching my videos and commenting! Of course you are right, but in this case the neck pickup is 15 Ohm and the bridge pickup is 20 Ohm. If after I finish my work and the owner tries it and is not satisfied with the sound, it is likely that the pickup will be replaced, which I will not do. So that there is never a problem, that's why I'm makeing it now!

    Viktor Wow! The Doctor is in the House! How do you get your chisels SO sharp? I was shocked with the powered color in water. I thought a oil stain is what you would use. I thought the color was too orange at first but was SHOCKED when it matched. I would have used a universal tint 🤔 a Raw Sienna. Good call. Viktor, is the cost of the repair exceed the cost of the guitar now? Because of all my physical ailments playing my Telecaster is very uncomfortable and almost painful so I understand the modifications. Fantastic work! A Master!!! Das 😎alll!👍😉👏👏👏👏

      Hi Ray, my friend! Well, first I sharpen it with at least P260 sandpaper, then grind it on a whetstone! I like to use water-based paints, but also the natural materials that surround us in the kitchen! Ex: Turmeric yellow, coffee, etc. I will present them in another video! Yes, you should always pay attention to the fact that water-based paints will be 3 times lighter after drying.The time and labor to repair the instrument never increases proportionately with the amount, so it always remains a semi-hobby. That's why a master instrument made by hand, be it a guitar or a violin or any other instrument, costs thousands of dollars or euros, while a cheap wood CNC-cut and stringed costs a few hundreds! Greetings my friend from the Alps

    Viktor Nice instalation and short diagnosis! What is a Bumblebee's function? I also like the rubber sleeves you put on the wires after a sodering and heat shrink for a permanent insulator wrap. So much better than electrical tape that ALWAYS fails with age. 👍👏👏👏

    • @lieszkovszkyGuitars1973
      @lieszkovszkyGuitars1973 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Ray Master! Well, the BumbleBee's is a capacitor, an oil paper solution from the 50's and 60's, which is still used today. Of course, the newer technique is the ceramic capacitor, orange drops, which is also good, but I like the old sound better! As a matter of fact, the short sinusoidal signals created by the string resonance in the pickup propagate in the form of a weak current, which can be AC or DC. This is stored and passed on by the capacitor so that it is always passed on in an equal amount. It balances the measure. Thank you very much!
