Uaru cichlids with 10 day old fry!
Ive got a 5x2x2 community cichlid tank with 2 adult uaru (8"), 3 juvenile uaru (5-6"), 5 spotted silver dollars, 1 plain SD, 4 geophagus altifrons (4-5"), a large rotkeil severum and a large red spot. Theres also a few tetra and a small royal plec.
A few weeks ago the two large uaru moved into one corner behind a large 20kg rock. A few days ago I noticed free swimming fry! Im estimating they are about ten days old. Ive just put a camera down the back, theres probably 20 plus fry, free swimming and popping up to eat the parents slime coat every time they swim past.
Parents are doing a good job protecting the corner at the moment...

Bi fan of Makita's tools; in this video Ive just picked up a DUR181Z LXT Battery powered line strimmer to take care of a small patch of grass we have! Plenty of power, simple and easy to use and obviously no cable! Cracking tool for those little DIY jobs around the garden!

Building and running an endless pool!
มุมมอง 142K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Bit of a boring video (sorry) that runs through my endless pool, how I built it, what it costs, what it can do, and how much it costs to run! Really did not need my own swimming pool....but I managed to justify it in my head as a cold water training tank for swimming the English Channel. Managed to save scrimp borrow...and put most of it on a credit card interest free for a long time and it was...
Makita DCM501Z Cordless CXT/LXT Battery coffee machine!

A coffee machine, that runs on batteries?! Yes please!! Here is my review of the Makita DCM501Z battery powered cordless coffee machine...plus you get a bonus review of the APD05 lxt battery USB adaptor to boot! The machine brews a hot cup of coffee (or tea) in about 4 minutes powered by the standard 18v LXT battery. It will also run off a CXT battery. I got four and a bit cups from a 5AH batte...
Makita DUC353Z BATTERY chainsaw verses Stihl MS181petrol saw, power and run time test!
มุมมอง 106K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I was very dubious of a battery chainsaw...but I read a good review of a Makita battery saw...and managed to pick one up for £159 (bare) so thought why not! Heres how I got on and critically, how long the 2x5AH LXT batteries lasted. Fair to say; amazed. Awesome bit of kit!! 100% recommend! Compared to the Stihl petrol saw, its about the same length, width, height, bar length is the same, tool-l...

I need an exercise pool for my health but I can’t afford to build a shed over it do you think it’s possible to have one all year round without in the uk? Any thoughts would be gratefully received

I used mine today I did 5 cuts on big discs of 55cm and was completely dead . I was expecting a bit better but I guess it's made for smaller stuff . I'd like to see it go up against the new 40v chainsaw

This is the FASTLANE that you can put in any pool ? And is the lowest speed model EP produce ? ( it look fast anyway ) I’m looking to buy one but I’m wondering about extra cost like Every 6 years you should change the motor

Only makes a half cup at a shot? No selection for amount? If you do a double shot, does it overflow the cup?

We are building a log house in Canada and have at the moment only access to a power socket from a friendly neighbors house. I picked up a second hand Makita coffee maker in Switzerland for around 50$ and brought it with me for camping and the building site. In my experience you can get two coffee mugs (160ml) out of one charge with a 4Ah battery -> depending of course also on the ambient temperature. It is more efficient to produce the second coffee cup right after the first one since the machine is already pre-warmed. Since I got plenty of 4Ah and 5Ah batteries the ease of producing coffee without a burner e.g. is a big plus in my opinion -> just prep the machine and let it run, come back later to a nice cuppa. I have to agree with James that the coffee is way too hot when it finishes the boiling though.. Coming from Europe I can attest that the Makita coffee maker produces coffee & espresso which is 10x times better than anything at Starbucks / Tim Hortons (I am going to get some Canadian hate for that one). Get yourself some good coffee beans and grind them to a size suitable for French Press or Mocca - the Espresso grind size is too small and makes a mess during the pouring of the coffee. During winter just throw the machine in your car and enjoy it in there. You can also use it to make yourself a cup of tea. I made a short video of how to prepare it and it got quite some comments also from family members and friends. th-cam.com/users/shortsgpXo9F_h4Zw

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

speeding up the video does NOT help - I need to see the actual time it takes to cut thru - when you accelerate the video speed it invalidates the experiment

  • @indrekmorell6615
    @indrekmorell6615 ปีที่แล้ว

4Ah is basically a toy, not a serious tool. Though the much higher efficiency of electric motor is able to compensate some of it as seen in video. Something like 20-30Ah battery in a packback would be a sufficient one. I did rebuild a BUC300 makita (brushed motor) chainsaw to a external 20Ah 24V battery 6 years ago and that already enabled to do some logging :) But once a while it did overheat and finally it did fry the armature (demagnetization also occured). Another great benefit accompanying external battery is the fact that the chainsaw without batter was only about 2.5kg or something and could easily be operated with one hand.

maybe a little off the wall but - has anyone considered heating one of these off the back of a wood-burning stove ? maybe linked to an underfloor heating loop - I live in the UK and am more likely to have access to cheap wood than cheap electricity ! Maybe I could go solar in summer and wood in winter....

Interesting. I built my EP kit (above ground) in 2004. Still going strong. However, two years ago I hired a pool builder to build a concrete inground pool with exact dimensions as the above ground shell. It looks beautiful now with blue tiles and a black tiled centre line! Just like the real thing.
