A lateral career move is needed if you've not been promoted in your current position for the last 3-5 years. A better opportunity may lie in another company also. Corporate leadership is based purely on nepotism and if you're not in the club in any one of the leaders in the company you work for, you have no future. Make moves to protect yourself now!

We have gone from "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words...." (which was preposterous) to "A leaf falling out of the sky is violence to humanity".....(which I guess is what preposterous ideas give birth to).

A career coach is a scammer. All of them. There are no coaches who tell you how they help you specifically, they present assertions of fake success stories which lack credibility and validation, you cannot check their claims.

What a sad story Korn Ferry is. False advertisement and terrible service. The coaches are not even available, and they don’t speak English. The Chat support does not work. Run far away! I’m cancelling my account immediately!

I found career coaches to be a very limited source of non actionable advice with very poor results. If you happen to be in a situation where you are pushed forward and liked by people you will never understand how hard it is for other people who have no support at all. I talked to many coaches explained my background my goals financially and what I did and what I thought is wise. I got zero advice. Most coaches suck, because I ask them, how did they help people in similar situations and how do they think that they will help me. Many do not even answer and demand the signature on a contract with generic buzzwords.

What's your opinion on a CEO that buys up smaller profitable companies, pays himself a big fat juicy salary and then flies around the world to all their locations, stays at the finest hotels, while putting on luncheon/dinner extravaganzas, purporting all the amazing synergies that will be created when the new firms combine forces... All the while, in the background, he is firing employees, shutting down departments and eventually closing down the offices, sending everyone to the unemployment line?... Now, the leftovers have to struggle to pick up the slack, with zero work/life balance?
