Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?

Typical Band Instrument Stereotypes
มุมมอง 409K9 ปีที่แล้ว
A funny collection of our favorite stereotypes found in each of the sections in our high school band! Let us know in the comments what you have found to be your band's typical stereotypes :) Disclaimer : we know this might not be everyone's stereotypes, we just made this as a funny thing for our band!
Band Camp
มุมมอง 5679 ปีที่แล้ว
Band camp is over….YAY!! Here is the collection of jokes we put together from the crazy month we have had! It was a great one :)
The trumpet part is kinda accurate to some of the band I was in and the flutes are accurate as well
Timpani: "My parts are so boring & I never play the melody. I want it now!"
Personally as a trombone, that kind of felt relatable..... Read More
can we just talk about how mallet percussion is always forgotten (not the mallet percussionists who were percussionists but the og ones that started with mallets like me) like for all of middle school I was forgotten 😢 mallet percussion is always on the bottom of the conductor’s page :((
"Euphoniums play your part." Euphonium: okay- Me a euphonium: fair enough
But I am in tune 😡😡😡 (oboe)
Trumpets: *blasting* Clarinets: *SQUEEEAKKKKK* Trombone: *wOmP WomP woMP wOoOooMp* Percussion: *vibing* Tubas: *out of breath* Conductor: *needing therapist*
For my band, this was how it goes down: Flutes: literal prima Donas starting drama every single 5 seconds and almost always sharp or flat (this skit pretty much got it right) Clarinets: hardworking, talented, and care but at least have one squeak every rehearsal Bass clarinets: odd, quiet, and weird Saxes: chaotic in the best ways, can play their part, and are pretty chill, funny, and cool Tuba: …*plays a few notes every 10,000 rests* Euphonium: suprisingly normal and will play their parts French horn: *could probably fill up a bottle of spit if they had one with them* Trombones: always crazy, chaotic, and loud Trumpets: always talking, as well as crazy, chaotic, and ofc…LOUD Percussion: really great people that practically run a factory bc I look back to see what they are doing and you will catch them running all over the place to different instruments constantly only to play their one note solos…✨😌😝 we love it lol 😂 (I am a clarinet btw for those wondering)
"I'm a clarinet" how am I not surprised 😑
The flutes is so accurate as a clarinet but they do play in my band 😭🙏
0:45 My bestie has been playing trumpet since she was within the age range of 8-11 or so. She would put her pinky in the pinky ring, and now they're bent in a very uncomfortable position to look at. Please, for the love of music, DO NOT PUT YOUR PINKY IN THE PINKY RING!! That's French Horn specific (I think. It could be more than the French Horn that you do that with)
I play flute and literally nobody talks and we all are sitting there just listening to clarinet squeaky no hate it’s mostly this one boy in my glasses but I got to say most of them are really talented
As a percussionist, we barely get asked to play our parts during concert season. They just trust us to play it correctly.
Our flutes are so good and talented tho! Like they are crazy good. -Me, a trumpet
I’m a clarinetist and I was surprised that we weren’t asked if we were Squidward
Haha- love how bass clarinet isn’t even here. Pretty accurate to ur bass clarinet experience 😭
Bro didn't even have the mouthpiece on the saxophone😂😂😂
as a saxophone player, *yeah. the others in the section do in fact do that. it's annoying* and we're also too loud i play at pianissimo and the others kids in my section are playing at forte and you can't hear the melody at all and i hate it please i'm begging any other saxophone players out there Please learn to control your sound i am BEgging
The euphoniums: *literally just a tuba*
Oh, gods... The "Concussionists"... lawl Band was quite a bit different back in the mid-to-late 90s.
1:34 ok who did that 💀
"im underrated" me, a bass drum player, who has literally never seen a single video like this where the bass drum is included;
as a french horn : i relate
I've been sent here by the BSS (Band Slander Services) to say one thing ORCHESTRA IS BETTER
<-THE DOOR IS THAY WAY
@@StarlightWillow 😐 We do not care
I play percussion and im so supprised he didn't klick the sticks 100,000,000 times
I find these a little inaccurate. Clarinets don't want to play because they're 'too cool' they don't want to play because usually they are shy, or they play too quiet. Awesome video though.
you forgot that most trumpets try to drown out the sound of the whole band i said most ok
second guy is jack black lmao💀💀💀
As a euphonium player I’m just happy someone knows the instrument.
The flutes act like the clarinets in my band class lmao
im still here
you portrayed euphoniums(what my sister plays) as the only good instrument and mocked flutes(what i play) most severely. this shall not be forgotten
You forgot to mention the part where the trumpet says "sorry I need a new mouthpiece that's why I'm playing bad"
I’m actually the only decent sounding French horn player in my entire school and I can strongly relate because everyone else sounds like that.
as a percussionists i agree
It would have made sense for percussion to just be hacking the entire time
Trumpets are indeed the best instrument
As a flute player some girls in the section are pretty decent we only have four flute players including me the problem is two of them are complete idiots and just play whatever they want and don’t practice
As always the euphonium is forgotten, what a drag
That trumpet one couldn't be closer to true
I'm not like that flute player but I play flute I've been stereotyped
As an oboist, percussionist, and trombonist, I can confirm that somehow all 3 are accurate to me 😂 although I feel like the oboe stereotype is more like thinking that you are the worst person who ever picked up an oboe, but simultaneously thinking you’re oboe Jesus or something. Also, we have one percussionist in marching band who plays the tambourine part in one of our songs… I swear that guy is so zesty when he’s playing it lel. He often ends up getting off-tempo because he’s dancing while playing his part 😭
The trumpet one is real
BD: "Trombones, play measure 36" Tr: "uh where" BD: "36" Tr: "okay" Tr: *three different octaves, four different keys, and they're at the wrong measure* BD: "saxes, play your solo at 40" Me and my sax friend: "got it" *plays okay* BD to saxophone that's chatting with the trombones and not giving a crap thinking he's gonna get first chair: "Hey, HEY you gonna join us today?" That other sax: "oh, yeah, sorry, my bad" *pretends to play* Me and my friend: "oh yeah, you're definitely gonna get first chair"
not right at all
The tuba part is real
As a flutist I am now legally a girl that will never play her part by: A: talking B: drinking Starbucks
As a flute, No one acts like that besides my co-section leader. i am the more quiet one- and currently, we are at war with the trombones for some reason. (Even though im best friends with many of them.) And also, flutes are very very picky- in my place at least. we HAVE to be in tune and have good angles, and we dont gossip because that's like a law in my group lmao, the video part was very funny though! I'm very extroverted to other people such as my friends, the other flutes of my section are very rude like i think said before. (And everyone says drumline is like hating on us even though im dating a person in drumline currently.) BUT anyway, the video was actually pretty spot on/j. i enjoyed it!
Us oboes are just grateful that the band director remembers we exist
as a trumpet this is inaccurate. He didn't ask if he could take the part up the octave
As a trumpet, I act like that and sound like that (it was somewhere around 30 seconds in or sum)
