Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?

Typical Band Instrument Stereotypes
มุมมอง 424K10 ปีที่แล้ว
A funny collection of our favorite stereotypes found in each of the sections in our high school band! Let us know in the comments what you have found to be your band's typical stereotypes :) Disclaimer : we know this might not be everyone's stereotypes, we just made this as a funny thing for our band!
Band Camp
มุมมอง 58210 ปีที่แล้ว
Band camp is over….YAY!! Here is the collection of jokes we put together from the crazy month we have had! It was a great one :)
As I trombonist, I approve of this stereotype lol. We’ll play - and we love doing it - however we got a few existential crises to resolve first. ;)
The flutes and one percussion are the only ones that listen in my band
My band has such chill alto sax’s. No one plays careless whisper in the middle of the piece, almost everyone can play super quietly so that us 16 altos don’t make everyone’s ears bleed. Our flutes & oboe, clarinets, and lows are also chill. It’s just percussion and trumpets😭🙏
FRENCH HORNS BE LIKE: "omg.... WHOLE NOTES FOR 25 MEASURE, AGAIN?" *random 15 measure rest and then 16th notes after it* "guys we literally have the coolest part." "we are SO AWSOME. WHAT THE HECK. we always have the COOLEST PART" "I JUST WANT TO DIE. I EMPTIED MY HORN ALL 9 WAYS AND THERES STILL SPIT" "i hate my life. i hate my life. i hate my life. why did i choose this instrument" *DOES A RIP* "GUYS WE HAVE A RIP. HECK YEAH. I LOVE THE HORN" (5 minutes later) "I regret my life decisions." *in marching band* *starts raining* "F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK" "GUESS WHAT. i REACHED THE HIGH A!!!!" *trumpets glare in confusion*
As a flute section leader that’s literally what everyone sounds like
the trumpets should’ve loudly blasted
Flutes❌ Violins✅
🙃why was the baritone not there
What kind of fantasy is this! "Percussion! Play your part!" Pfft yeah right. 😅 My band director always says, "just the trumpets"
2:55 as a trombone player, this is perfect
As a trumpet I have to deny that I do not play the bad, I am always the best trumpet
Nobody: 0:33 Some random trumpet player in class when asked to play
euphoniums lowkey being the most cooperative
Hold on, was that sax playing without a mouthpiece?
anyone in 2024??
As a clarinet player, I’d do anything to play and show off that I’m better. As loud as I possibly can, suckers! Although the stereotype makes sense around my fellow reed squeakers, they are so weird.
I sit next to a french horn player as a trumpet player, and sometimes, to clear the spit valve, he shakes it, and it has splashed me a little bit. Band room floors are filled with spit, something I learned the hard way! And I do think trumpet is the best in the school band, but I don’t think IM the BEST 😂!
Those cages for storing instruments take me back...like all the way back to 2009.
As an oboist, I am slightly offended, but something more accurate would be: Flutes: *have a part* Clarinets: *have the same part* Oboe: *also has same part* BD: “Ok, Flutes and Clarinets, let’s hear this measure.” OR Flutes: *have a part* Clarinets: *have same part* Oboe: *doesn’t have a part at that time* BD: “Ok, Flutes and Clarinets, play this part, wait, you know what, oboe, you too.”
You got the trombones perfectly…like- we talk about everything but band and then we move our bodies with our instrument😭
We actually had a dude last year like the trumpet one. He SUCKED and was only 1st chair due to seniority (he didn’t let us do chairs) and he thought he was God’s gift to band. He had this exact same attitude
As a horn player, I can agree that the Horn part is factually true.
Euphoniums are the only one who actually play. I say this as a euphonium player
Who’s here in 2024
tubas: gay af
As a sax we are known for carless whisper 😂
As a tuba player, I can confirm that we do sometimes have insanely long measures of rests (and occasional cues for other instruments that are already in the band).
Ok, the trumpet stereotype is not true, I know because I am a trumpet, and yes it is true that i am the second best musician in the band, for a fact, the trumpet is not really true.
bruh flutes is SO TRUE!!!!!!!
Saxes are actually so true, like there is one sax thats a total simp, FOR MY SISTER!!!!!!!!!
CLARINETS ARE SO TRUE
THE OBOES THAT IS SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cant really tell if bassoons is true, cuz we only have 2 bassoons in our band. Rip bassoon section.
Bro the sax didn’t even have a mouth piece on 😭
Percussion, play your lyrical part. Symbol and wind chime and bells/glok and triangle, *cheers. The rest of percussion, *falls asleep.
In middle school, me and the other tuba would cheer when we were called on to play because the director spent so much time on the woodwinds. Not that high school is any different
3:50 time to see my stereotype
As a sax and a oboe player.. this is accurate
JELP as a trumpet player we do that all my time 💔
bro this is so inaccurate
I play clarinet and i don't act like that lol
as a sax and trombone and trumpet and French horn and flute and clarinet and tuba and euphonium and violin player I can relate
As a trombone player we debate politics more.
Sounds like the kid that bullies me in orchestra, for trumpets. But with cello. Man can’t even play a scale
As a sax player I can confirm I don’t want to play
FR
2:47 At least she was WILLING to play her part! Unlike the others who came before her...
The trumpet part is kinda accurate to some of the band I was in and the flutes are accurate as well
Timpani: "My parts are so boring, I have a LOT of really long rests, & I never play the melody. I want it now!"
Personally as a trombone, that kind of felt relatable..... Read More
can we just talk about how mallet percussion is always forgotten (not the mallet percussionists who were percussionists but the og ones that started with mallets like me) like for all of middle school I was forgotten 😢 mallet percussion is always on the bottom of the conductor’s page :((
"Euphoniums play your part." Euphonium: okay- Me a euphonium: fair enough
But I am in tune 😡😡😡 (oboe)
Trumpets: *blasting* Clarinets: *SQUEEEAKKKKK* Trombone: *wOmP WomP woMP wOoOooMp* Percussion: *vibing* Tubas: *out of breath* Conductor: *needing therapist*
For my band, this was how it goes down: Flutes: literal prima Donas starting drama every single 5 seconds and almost always sharp or flat (this skit pretty much got it right) Clarinets: hardworking, talented, and care but at least have one squeak every rehearsal Bass clarinets: odd, quiet, and weird Saxes: chaotic in the best ways, can play their part, and are pretty chill, funny, and cool Tuba: …*plays a few notes every 10,000 rests* Euphonium: suprisingly normal and will play their parts French horn: *could probably fill up a bottle of spit if they had one with them* Trombones: always crazy, chaotic, and loud Trumpets: always talking, as well as crazy, chaotic, and ofc…LOUD Percussion: really great people that practically run a factory bc I look back to see what they are doing and you will catch them running all over the place to different instruments constantly only to play their one note solos…✨😌😝 we love it lol 😂 (I am a clarinet btw for those wondering)
"I'm a clarinet" how am I not surprised 😑
