Lava Falls Rapid - Grand Canyon - June 2024 at 10k-13k cfs
Here's the video from our run on Lava Falls run in mid-June 2024. Please excuse the language at the top of the ledge...I thought our chosen line was too aggressive and close to the hole for a second. We did a GoPro 4k timewarp of our entire 19-day Lees to Pearce trip which we will post when finished editing.

Great entry, most are too far right. Since the water shifts to the right, it's hard to judge it well.

What region did you qualify out of? Up here in the PNW myself and in a similar boat as you. Back in the swing of things after a 10 year hiatus and looking at going to LL in 17'. Not sure I've got time to be physically ready in just 2 months away from area qualifiers.
I qualified out of the South Central Region. I was not in that great of shape when I qualified and raced that year, and sometimes luck can pull you through the regional. Good luck!

what can one do training wise to prepare for lorettas on and off the bike? any tips or advice im all ears man.
I mainly tried to get as much seat time on the bike as possible. I took 16 years off the bike and just started riding little less than a year before this race. I got to ride about 2 or 3 times a month. I'm an attorney and work long hours at a desk. I tried to ride a cycle bike in the house at night, but my work schedule made any set routine hard to follow. So I guess my best advice would be to ride and do cardio training as much as possible. If you make it to LL, I think most races are about 9 laps so try push hard in practice for at least that many. If you're like me, then you're normally pretty darn tired after the standard 4 lap race at the local track...lol. Just keep pushing for it and you'll make it. I had the benefit of making it to LL 6 times as a kid. This was my first time back as an adult and man what a difference a few additional years has on the body. It was much tougher. Was hoping to make it back again this year, but I shattered my pelvis in October and won't be healed in time.

It's a blast. Hitting the triple for the first time was a thrill, but it's actually pretty smooth and easy.

why do you have a 450?
Very nice riding, but a few things on the video could be improved :P for better sound quality try switching the back with the skeletal back on the gopro case instead of the waterproof back, and you could lower the quality and allow 60fps instead of 30fps because you are going so fast
