What Video Editor (with full on RANT on Adobe)
I need a new video editor. I’ve used Sony Vegas, KineMaster, clip champ, and open shot. They are just OK.
Recommend if you will one of the following…
KDEN live, VIMEO, CAPCUT, da Vinci resolve, light works, VSDC free, shotcut, hit film, videopad, MOVAVI video, editor, descript, and last and least adobe premier.
Or suggest another…

Cigar Box GUITAR AMPLIFIER Notebook Compressor Tremolo fro...
มุมมอง 3832 หลายเดือนก่อน
Moving on, starting with a handful of night lights I picked up at a thrift store, I used the LED and Photoresistors to make voltage controlled amplifiers. One is a Compressor, the other is a Tremolo. The Optocoupler was taken from a computer power supply which was used in other projects of my new book. As always, I know it could be better, but this is a place to mark where I am today and where ...
TUBE AMP FEET from pool cue END bumper?! YES!!

Leather Wrap on the SPECIAL OVERDRIVE Amp FIRST TRY
มุมมอง 1174 หลายเดือนก่อน
Years ago, I built this tube amp from a bunch of spare parts and trash. Old Ukranian tubes, a 600v step DOWN transformer from a welder, steel wire from a gas station, an old cigar box, and a couple of desk draws my neighbor was throwing away. Fast forward to 2024, I got this roll of Leather Repair Tape and I thought that it would be fun to test as a Tolex substitute to wrap that amp. It's funny...

Ever have a Window pop open OUTSIDE of your screen? I have. You can get to it with this favorite keyboard short cut. Alt Space. That will bring up the control menu for that window. Then you can Move, Resize, Maximize, Minimize, Restore, all those functions. I LOVE doing this when some developer thinks they know better and make a crappy interface. I can use this to fix their problem in front of ...

    Good Bill, I just watched your video, translated into Spanish. This is TERRIBLE, a few years ago I was able to contact a WD employee and he gave me the steps to set up a local network, or something like that, I did NOT understand the steps he gave me. But when I activated the disk, it opened the folders of the MyCloud disk, and I could see them in the NETWORK area of the computer. TODAY I go to look to look for something, AND I DON'T HAVE THEM, THEY HAVE GONE AWAY!!!! I too am disappointed in this system. And I would like to know if you can help me set this up, and then do what you explain in your video. Is this possible? please. Do you have a video explaining what they do?

    For anything high-end, Resolve, of course. If I want to create a short, or some AI talking head footage, background remover, etc. I use Capcut--does lots of nifty things but not may main editor. If I want to do something quick with easy graphics and color matching, Filmora ($70/yr). Then there is Kdenlive. If I want to edit something quickly and use an editor that is all about fundamentals, then Kdenlive. I used to use Adobe Premiere. So happy they finally irritated me enough that I left them. For graphics and some video stuff I use Canva. So I probably spend the same as Adobe cloud but have 100x the fun. If I had to settle on two, however I'd use Davinci for complex and Kdenlive for meat and potatoes.

    Impressed by your single minded dedication, all very interesting. Wonder why you chose a 250K pot for the input stage cathode resistor which seems very high and probably touchy to adjust over the sort of values you would expect to bias an ECC83, maybe up to 5K? Good luck. Also wonder if you get into tube characteristics and load lines? 😎

    • @MadScientistGuitarLab
      @MadScientistGuitarLab 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 250k pit was likely because that’s what I had, or I had a single example schematic that used a large value like that. The real benefit was that I could experiment and see how the tube sounded depending on how much I loaded the cathode and anode down. I found some good combinations and made note of those. :)

  • @rogadair
    @rogadair 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great experimental set up and sound . I wonder what resisance you had set the various pots and if you did any comparison between R1=R3 and R3=0 ie this layout and the normal cathode follower layout? You have to conclude all the amp manufactures spent a considerable effort "spying" on each others schematics considering how the same features and variations appear all over the place!

    • @MadScientistGuitarLab
      @MadScientistGuitarLab 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh the direct coupled follower is one of my favorite circuits. I see these a lot in effects loops or anything that has a longer cable run. Soldano and Marshall both use them for that. But pushing that through a tone stack is heavenly. :)
