The East End of London's oldest funeral parlour, is set to become a fast food joint. The oldest undertaker, that side of the River Thames has moved premises and the old funeral parlour is set to become a burger bar. But some of its unique pictures and fittings will still remain. After, quite a long while away loitering in the shadows. I have decided to make a come back to death and funeral related vlogging. Gone is, 'Confessions of an Undertaker'. And in its place is, 'An English Undertaking.' A type of History/Discovery, National Geographic channel aimed at the funeral and death care business. Here you will find a bit of history, comedy, science, religion and culture....

Cheer~~~a person whose business is preparing dead bodies for burial or cremation and making arrangements for funerals.😊(good explanation)
👍
And how to speak well, eloquently enough not to say things like like a 1000 times or uhhh, at the beginning of a sentence and at the end of it. It is by itself a life lesson in r.e.s.p.e.c.t. Both to the living and the deceased. And respect for ones own LIFE.
So interesting! I've been to a few Invert shows, which I assume are a similar sort of set up, albeit a different subject! I didn't even know his show existed-i'll definitely look into going to the next one in 2 years. My kids would love to come too. I have a 12 year old wannabe funeral director and a 14 year old wannabe coroner so I'm sure they'd be captivated! Whereabouts in wilts did you used to be? I'm in Hampshire 😊
Pmd you on Facebook 😊
Hey, yes most industries have trade organisations. Most run yearly, but the funeral service have theirs every two years. Please do come along it’s a great event. It would be great for your would be funeral director. Lots to see so I’m sure he or she would be very interested. 👍🏻👍🏻
😪 P𝐫O𝕞O𝓢m
Hey! Thanks for the shout out, I really appreciate it 😊 I think the interview went OK, the two ladies seemed really lovely. I spoke to a gentleman at the funeral home today and he said that the lady who interviewed me now has a weeks annual leave, and then more interviews to do. As much as id love to get the job, I'm really not holding my breath if I'm honest x
I’m glad it all went well. Stay hopeful, if you weren’t successful this time there’s always next time. 👍🏻👍🏻
nice to see you back, would go into the funeral business know quite a bitt , but not keen on being woken up at stupid aclock on call, and driving bigg limos lol
Hi Anthony, thank you for your comment. If it’s something you’re genuinely interested I’d say go for it. However, driving limos and being on call is all part and parcel of being an undertaker.
Omg thanks for the shout out! My name is Beckie 😊 the interview is on Tuesday and the nerves are kicking in haha! Thankyou so much for taking the time to talk to me, I really appreciate it! Awesome video, I never realised Ronnie's funeral was so big! I'll definitely have to look into it, they were fascinating guys!
No worries at all. Good luck with the interview I’m sure you’ll smash it. Yes, Ronnie and Reggie where both fascinating characters. Check out some of the footage on TH-cam of the funeral. Very interesting. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@undertaker9176 thankyou! Fingers crossed! I definitely will, I've watched a lot of documentaries about them but nothing about the funerals. I'll keep an eye out for your next video too
@@lockdownlegs8835 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey! Just found you luckily, so I have a few videos to watch 😊 pretty please can I pick your brain?
Sure thing go ahead.
@@undertaker9176 thankyou so much! So I've been trying to get into the funeral industry for years. Tried volunteering, asking for work experience, and applying for jobs. Always got overlooked because I haven't got experience. But .... I have finally got an interview at a local funeral director on Tuesday! So nervous and excited! Just wondering if you have any tips? What would you look for if you were hiring? I don't want to come across too keen (or a bit weird!) But I want them to know I'm passionate 😊
@@lockdownlegs8835 thanks again for your comment. It’s a great question that I’m happy to answer. Firstly can you drive? Or should I say do you have a drivers license? If not then don’t be surprised if you get turned down. Most funeral homes want you to hold a full driver’s license. You seem very keen and enthusiastic so that will work in your favour. If you can show that you have been actively looking for work and have even expressed an interest in volunteering then that will be a big bonus. No one works for nothing so if they can see you’re prepared to do that then that’ll be a great help. Can I ask how old you are? Age is a big thing in the funeral business. Some employers like their staff to be older and have had some life experience. Having said that there are a continuing amount of young people coming through the ranks. Good luck with it all. I’m sure you’ll do just fine. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@undertaker9176 thankyou! I do drive, have been for 3.5 years with a clean license. Only automatic, but I'm more than happy to do my manual cos I doubt hearses or vans come in auto 🤣 I'm 39 this year, and have plenty of experience of death and funerals from a customer point of view
@@lockdownlegs8835 that’s great. Yes most hearses and limousines are automatic. It might pay you to do the manual test as some are manual? Definitely sounds like you have life experience so that will be of benefit. Just go in there, be yourself, ask questions and wear a suit. When you go in look razor sharp. Appearance is everything in this business. 👍🏻👍🏻
RIP Peter :(

@@Markov3447 oh wow, that’s fantastic. Thank you so much for commenting. Tell your husband he did a good job. 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi there,, do u not do these TH-cam blogs now....
Hi Michael, yes I have for the time being. But stay tuned as I will be back soon with a new series.
I'd love to find one like that in that good of shape..
Hi there,, have u stopped doin these blogs now
mickey boy Hi, thanks for your message. Yes I have stopped these types of videos. For reasons I will not go into sadly I had to stop rather abruptly. But thank you for watching.
I Don't wanna Die😓.
Alexa Galus none of us want to die, but it’s going to happen so best get used to it. Just make every second count white you’re still here.
great vlog, Feel free to use my music in your vids, keep grinding!
Hi there,,,, how do u deal with decomposed / dismembered corpses,, and has it ever freaked u out when u have to work on one......thanks.....Michael
rangers fc Hi Michael, yes do deal with those cases. All funeral directors do at some stage in their careers. No it has never freaked me out. Thanks for your question.
@@undertaker9176 thankyou

danny ebbert glad to hear it.
No funeral or service for me. Direct cremation.
Rob Tro it is becoming a popular option for many.
Many thanks for this informative, yet self-effacing video. You and you family have clearly been through a great deal but you have, nevertheless, forged a very worthwhile career.
William Evans thank you very much. Yes we have been through a lot but thankfully we are a strong family and it doll take more than that to bring us down. I love my job completely and my experiences in hospital help me to do it with a better understanding of the fragility of life.
This is so interesting! I loved how you said that you don’t do many funerals on Saturdays. Here in the US, Saturday’s are our busiest days for funeral services! It’s not rare that we’ll have 2-3 services on any given Saturday.
Omg Peter! As if Little Miss Funeral commented on your video!!! *starstruck haha!
great vlog love this
ItsJustMikee thank you very much for saying so. I’m glad you like the video.
Nice video mate, I now have that book in my shopping cart!
Grant Grindle it’s a great book. 👍🏻👍🏻
great video as always mate question for you what are your views on body donation for medical research maybe an idea for a video for you to cover ? when i worked at the crematoruim we got most of the patients once the university was finished with them
Little Grey Fergie thanks for watching, much appreciated. I’m all for body donation if it’s what the deceased wanted? Personally I think that if science can learn and benefit from your dead body then why not?? It’s the same with organ donation. If someone else can make used of them then why not donate. After all they are not longer any use to you.
any air conditioning ?
Big Willy to Slim Willy lol sadly not. It was just a case of opening all the doors and windows and letting whatever breeze there was blow through!!
Wonderful video mate, and I'm glad you took us along on your holiday. Kind of. Look forward to your next video! Take care.
Grant Grindle thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed the video and are looking forward to the next one. I try and make them as interesting as possible.
Very jealous!!!! Have a wonderful time!!! Make the most of the sunshine! 👌🏼
emilina01 thank you, it was a lovely holiday. The weather was perfect all week.

Hi love your George Michael fridge magnet, he was a great guy - been to his house in Highgate a few times to put a tribute!
paperchain 123 thank you very much. Yes I had the pleasure of seeing him twice in concert. An amazing showman.
Ah, nice video Peter. And, as always, great seeing you again mate! First, congratulations on the potential of your new home! Secondly, thank goodness you didn't get called back out. Take care Peter. Tell the misses I said Hello. Give your dog a nice pet, and I look forward to your next video! Oh, put some water on for tea. I'll be over, and we'll chat over a pipe.
Grant Grindle thank you very much. It’s always a relief when you don’t get called out, especially in the middle of the night!!
Good seeing you Mate! Take care!
I love when you said, "I'll probably slob out in front of the telly!" LOL!
Grant Grindle lol
Morning… ❤
Top of the morning Mate! Thank you for your time and videos! I too, love visiting old cemeteries! I am fascinated with them!
Grant Grindle they are very interesting
Way too modern for my tastes, much prefer the Anglican Cathedral...thanks.
joseph faulkner I don't mind the modern look. A lot of RC churches and cathedrals have that modern look and feel to them.
Very interesting. I enjoy your videos.
Destany Thank you very much. I'm glad you like them. 👍🏻👍🏻

Dose it have the original church truck?
patrick garcia I'm sport I don't know what you mean? This isn't a feature that's is familiar to me.
Fantastic architecture, although I say when it comes to churches I prefer traditional Romanesque cathedrals with domes ect.
The only round shaped Cathedral in Europe? Not true. St. Hedwig's Cathedral in Berlin (catholic) is also round shaped. Not to forget Aachen Cathedral (dating from the early 8th century).
Do you do any first calls with this? Or is it just for casketed bodies?
