Sir I’m a wrapping up seminary as a chaplain candidate and I wanted to know what are the different types of chaplains we have in the army just so I can really know what direction I would like to go in.
Where can I buy 😂😂😂😂
Great video. Thank you. I got to take 5 units of CPE some years ago. Four of them through a chaplaincy residency program at a hospital. However, after I was done with CPE, I decided that chaplaincy was not for me, and I became a full time missionary/pastor in Mexico, Central and South America. fifteen years later, I decided to get back into chaplaincy but my chaplain skills are not that great. I already applied at the same hospital where I took CPE, and they called me for my third interview. By the way, the interviews were very challenging. The questions were tough and made feel incompetent. I think they want to hire me, but I really need to relearn to be a chaplain. Do you have any suggestions on videos, books, or articles to “sharpen” my chaplain abilities. Thank you and God bless you.
Can you talk more or make a new video about chaplain candidate program please?
If you're really Chaplains then why can't you guys wear black armour and wear skull helmets 💀
Pardon my ignorance sir, but how come you have the medcom patch as a chaplin? 🤔
Go 24...
I have a bachelors in Law but I’m considering in doing a masters in theology will this work?
Hello
Thank you! Heading to CHBOLC in January 2025.
I appreciate your video. There's alot of online Theology and Divinity programs out there but im doing research to find out which ones are properly accredited. Taking separation of church and state into consideration.
Thank you. Great breakdown
Great channel. While I may be a bit too old to go back in, but the VA still has my interest.
Looks nicer 😲
but no wheelie??!!
Sick bro
I know my pain has made me impactful. I'm grateful. I'm a missionary. Jesus criticized and died. It took Peter's sermon to break away what was lodged in their hearts, and convert them!
nice but i dont trust aluminum frames
bro i was just going to put the exact same comment.
why?
My packet just passed Level 3 and is headed to the Office of the Chief of Chaplains. Is it difficult to make it past the Accessions Board? It's been a long process and I'm hoping I get accepted.
@thetattooedchap I received this and worked 8 years in Chaplaincy. Would that count towards anything if I went through ACP as a civilian? Will the Army recognize it?
Im in my Masters in Divinity in Chaplaincy. I pray to God I can return to Uniform as a Chaplain. But if not, God has a plan for me. Thanks for the information on here.
Brother, if military chaplaincy doesn’t pan out for you, then I would suggest that you look into hospital or hospice chaplaincy. I’m a hospice chaplain. It’s a good ministry to be in. I’m looking to get into military chaplaincy. Hopefully I’ll know something soon. Blessings to you!
Got same bike in orange got rid of all the black and swapped in red annodized parts with chrome cranks and bars. Get lots of looks. I also suggest upgrading rear rotor to 180mm much more responsive braking
Hey Chaps, I just expected a Senior Pastor position and I'm talking with Chaplain Recruiters about reserve. Do you know if I would be able to get Sundays off and go in on a Friday/Saturday for my trainings?
Often yes. I know several that do a Fri/Sat drill weekend, doing office work on Friday, and chaplain ministry to all the troops on Saturday.
Congrats BTW!!!
Awesome, thank you!
God bless you!
Thank you and you as well!
I've been pulling my hair about how to go about this process. I haven't even attained an undergraduate degree. And I want to try and be an Orthodox military chaplain. Would I have to go to seminary school and be an official clergy?
❤
life alone is different ADAM HAD IT EASY JUST EAT SLEEP WORK .. if their was a problem with what was created “Adam” than Eve had to be made so alone wouldn’t be bad.. now today it’s preached to remain single (New Testament) lol Did the God y’all preach about lie in his own word? Genesis 2:18-24 King James Version (KJV) And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am. But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
Key word: context. A wise man one said something along these lines, “Any Text outside of its Context becomes a Pretext for one’s Prooftext.”
Great explanation of A-R-A
Thanks!
Hey Chaplain Mcginley, I appreciate all the work you’re doing for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and our country! Love the new look on the Telecaster. Keep me in your prayers - I’m in the process of applying for the Army National Guard chaplain candidate program as a Church of God chaplain. I have just completed my physical exams and I’ve got a minor medical issue that may need a waiver but we will see. God is in control so if it’s His will I know it will all will work out. Nonetheless your videos have been a huge help in my journey brother! You by far have the best content and up to date information for Army Chaplaincy on any social media platforms that I’m aware of. You are making a big difference in many people lives. God bless you and praying for you sir!
Thank you for the encouragement brother! Very cool that you’re almost there. Don’t get discouraged at the road bumps; and I’ll be praying for you!
I recently graduated with a Masters in Ministerial Leadership Ministry Concentration from SEU (Southeastern University) ATS accredited, and am about to start MDiv Chaplaincy Military program at Liberty. If my MA from SEU transfers into Liberty University 93 credit MDiv am I good to go ? Or would I need to earn 72 credits from same school “Liberty” to meet requirements ? I’m in the process becoming a candidate right now. Can one switch endorsers once a candidate ? @thetattooedchap thank you 🙏
I did similar; I had a MA in Theology and Culture degree (48 cr.) from Northwest University, and transferred my degree to Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s MDiv program (72 cr). SAGU transferred 42 of the credits. You should be good, but I would double check, though, with your chaplain recruiter. And, yes, endorsers can be switched.
Thank you
Did you purchase your AGSUs from clothing and sales or Marlow White?
Marlow
Hello
Olá
I have a question. Is the IFOC certification good for working as a chaplain or should I become certified another way?
Where do I take the typing test??
Any tests required would take place through your recruitment process. I’m not sure there is a specific typing though.
I took mine at MEPS
Hii sir My name is Srikanth from India I interested to work a chaplian
Very cool!
Random question, do you need a degree from the accredited university list or do they make exceptions? I’m moving to Idaho and none of the religious universities are on the list of military accredited universities. Is online school a better option in this circumstance?
The degrees need to be accredited. If you are concerned the school you are interested in may not qualify, contact a chaplain recruiter first. Blessings on the journey!
@@TheTattooedChap yeah I was gonna ask is there a website for that list somewhere? I’ll see what I can do. Last chaplain recruiter literally told me to not try and that was surprising and strange - maybe he was having a bad day?
I have the same bike
I about had a heat attack pedaling this bike. Something is off with the freewheel if anything.
Would check brake rubbing
I was bummed it came with 170mm cranks and not 175 or 180mm cranks.
I am a service member interested in chaplaincy, however, I believe it is unloving given knowing the truth to encourage and aid others in Idolatry and steering them away from salvation. I would love to speak with you in attempt to understand your perspective!
Sure! Shoot me an email: drew.s.mcginley.mil@health.mil
Wow 😲 amazing! Praise God!
I'm looking at becoming a chaplain for hospice and hospitals. The only thing that worries me is an expectation to cater to other religions. For instance I'm not gonna preach a false gospel, Allah or any other doctrine of demons. Thoughts, advice ?
Great question! Chaplains are to be authentic to their own faith, and offer religious services according to their own faith tradition. For instance, if you end up having a Muslim patient, you are not expected to perform Muslim worship rites/services-that would be inappropriate for both the patient and you the provider. Rather, a chaplain offers what they can in the moment without transgressing their own faith, and connect the patient with a representative from their faith group for things you as a chaplain cannot. Chaplains are not expected to be or pretend to be universalist in their service nor belief (unless they are representing a universalist faith tradition). In this instance, I, as a conservative Christian can offer a listening ear, a human connection, and perhaps the patient would like me to pray with them. I would then find a local Imam or Muslim chaplain colleague, if the patient desired such a referral. Hope that helps.
Respect to you all but fck everything in Washington DC and yes im former 11c myself
Man, the traffic here…haha…
I hear it’s hard to promote as 56M? I’m in the reserves, currently an E5. Before switching to this MOS I want to make sure it has potential for advancement. Kinda hard to find info about this.
I’m not to sure about the Reserve side of things, but on AD it does get more competitive for the E7-E9 ranks compared to some other MOSs. I’d speak to you 56M at your BDE or DIV level to get a better understanding of the promotion potential in the Reserves.
I saw on your LinkedIn, you used to be an AG minister and now are Anglican. I’d love to hear about your switch. I’m currently an AG US Missionary.
Certainly! I still love the AG and have a ton of friends there. Shoot me an email: drew.s.mcginley.mil@health.mil
How to be full time licenced minister in active duty?
Good question! You will be licensed/ordained through your denomination/endorsing agent, and which allows you to be a full time minister in the military as a chaplain.
Just became a chaplain at a FH so appreciate this.
I do worry about the ecclesiastical endorsement, I was raised Mennonite which is not one of the faiths so I am not sure where I could get an enforcement from
There are servers endorsing agents that provide endorsement for non-denominational or unaffiliated ministers. I think that would be the direction for you to go if there is not a Mennonite-specific endorser. I’d start looking at this list, work your way through the endorsers, look them up online, etc. prhome.defense.gov/M-RA/MPP/AFCB/Endorsements/
