    Pierce, What gang angle were the coulters set during this pass?

    • @piercerandall4919
      @piercerandall4919 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mark! If I remember correctly this was set to the more aggressive setting being 8° on the front and 6° on the rear. We made a couple of passes going from 0, 2, 4, 6 and finally 8°. 8° was the most aggressive but the farmer really liked the finish at 4° and 6°.

      Thanks for the info, I was very impressed with the chopping and sizing of the corn plant residue. Do these tools create any compaction at 8 degrees? The discs are said to have a mild concavity.

      @piercerandall4919 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markam306 I would say the more gang angle you put to the tool higher the chance there is for compaction. With that said it's significantly better than a traditional disk or other sweep style tool. For true vertical tillage we still recommend our Turbo-Max. We had gotten requests over the years from Turbo-Max owners asking for a tool that would "bury a little more" and that's what the Terra Max was designed around, we call it hybrid tillage.

    How much horsepower do you need to pull the 18 foot turbo max?

    • @piercerandall4919
      @piercerandall4919 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Matt, sorry for just now seeing this! The Tubo-Max needs approximately 10 hp/ft at the drawbar. The biggest thing with these tools is that they run at speed to create the mixing.
