Wrong. It was pizza.
It's not exactly drawing distance, but level of detail blending combined with inaccuracy between levels of detail. I've seen far more noticable cases where boulders would shift about as the ground they're on moved. Would love to get it improved, swimming terrain is quite unsettling.
I'm not looking forward to seeing that in VR. Swimming terrain is a great way to describe it.

But what genre of music would they play?
I hope they will fix this issue. It's really ruining the immersion. I've also noticed this weird terrain warping in a less extreme form in 2 other surprising games aswell, those being RDR2 and GTA.
When Odyssey's alpha is back online I'm going to try with other settings and see if it still happens
It's in the prison DLC for Deus Ex as well. You can see a line in the sand shifting right in front of your character.
