dungeon meshi has probably the best in-depth exploration into ecology without even centering the story around it (ecology, biology, and food being vehicles for the plot). it feels so well thought out. i was NEVER bored at any time at the show. was always entertained by the grim environment or the funny bits, so good. great genuine review! would def recc the manga, esp since its already done. and the manga side-stories are the absolute highlight (you get to see chil’s daughters!)

Might give it a watch, i tend to avoid animes that talk about food as their crutch cuz it often just turns into long exposites of food trivia instead of anything of substance going on. Good review, cringe but not too cringe 👍

uh, came across ur stream by accident but it was fairly entertaining... just a couple of FYI things?: 1. there is a sorta elevation marker for ur quest markers, just look for the tiny little arrowhead to the bottom right of the quest marker, upward pointing means its above u, downward pointing is below... tbf though, its not always very useful because something below u might be in a cavern where the entrance is malms away lol 2. i know that in other MMOs, some people enjoy clearing a map of all sidequests before they move on, but in FFXIV, the MSQ gives u enough xp to level 1 job to max by the time u finish it. Sidequests are more useful for helping u level another job because they do give decent xp as well and each job has to be levelled separately. However, this is more an FYI, so it's really up to u how u wanna do it... i get how some people would prefer not to leave things out so they don't forget to come back for them later... 3. it is technically possible to walk alllll the way to Western Thanalan from Gridania to pick up the quests that unlock dyeing and glamour/transmog (as well as Gold Saucer) before u get very far in the MSQ, u just have to be careful about mobs that are way above ur level... U do this by going to Central Shroud -> South Shroud -> East Thanalan -> Central Thanalan -> Western Thanalan... also chocobokeeps is an early way to automate ur ride to locations where u've already unlocked the chocobokeeps... so u don't actually have to walk everywhere.... just remember to talk to chocobokeeps everytime u go to a place with an aetheryte, there is usually one nearby... it's unlocked if it no longer has the slim exclamation mark on it... 4. If you go around Gridania and unlock all of the aethernet shards, it will unlock 2 more locations (3 after u do a short quest at level 29) on the aethernet that lets u immediately exit the city from the aethernet at any shard... this works the same on every hub city too 5. You'd probably want to spend some time to setup ur UI coz by the time u learn everything, just ur job skills can take up to 3 hotbars full... not including limit break and teleport and return etc... u can activate and arrange up to 10 hotbars all over the place... somewhat related to ur hotbars, i've found it's very useful to press P on ur keyboard and look at all ur job's actions, including all the ones that u might not have unlocked yet, and arrange them onto ur hotbars beforehand by just clicking and dragging them onto the hotbars, so that u can start building muscle memory of what sequence and where the buttons will be... Role actions too
