Watched a lot of videos and you win the award for innovation!
@@TheCowPastureGarage thank you. I really appreciate that. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
I have just over 200 hours on my ck2610, has been a great machine. I have learned to take it out of 4wd, it is easier to pull the handle while tuning the steering wheel, the binding will release. Thanks for your video!
Yes, that's a great tip. I also learned about this tip from a viewer a few months back. I talked about and actually demonstrate it in a recent video. Below is the link to that video if you'd like to check it out. Thanks for watching and commenting. th-cam.com/video/9wZkI1NO-oo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QReqfxzER--XzY3v
Thanks for the helpful video. Just did the 50-hour service on my CK. One thing I didn't like about the Kioti coming from a Kubota was the hydraulics. Bad hydraulic whine being one of the issues. I thought I was going to have to live with it. I replaced it with Mobil Delvac instead, and it took the whine completely out immediately. In my case its 100% gone. Im taking your advice and doing front axle as well.
@@deerrudy yes, same here. Whine disappeared once I replaced the hydraulic fluid. I would definitely go ahead and change the axle fluid. They ship it with cheap thin oil. The 80/90w gear oil will work well and less chances of leaks developing. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
About the bolts I think back then the bolts grade in tractors was higher quality and oversized, while the newer ones is not so good and due to the smaller size bolts the torque is also lower. Just an idea.
I would definitely agree. Like most things now days, more cost, less quality. Thanks for checking it out.
Thanks for a through review of what this mower can do. My question is..... can you raise it off the ground with the 3 point and cut at a height of 1-2 ft? Or does the skid shoe need to remain on the ground?
Yes, you can raise it and cut at those heights with no problem. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thanks for speedy reply! One more question..... though every question seems to lead to more. What's the PTO Hp of your tractor? I have a Kubota 30 engine hp/ 23 PTO hp and am being told that I should go with a 4' cutter bar which seems kinda too short. I'd like to bump it up to at least 5' bar. It's a Chinese mower with single action cutters and single action hydraulic cylinder.
@@blenderbenderguy My tractor has 30 PTO HP. On the Frontier site for sickle bar mowers, they list 3 models, 6, 7 and 8 ft. They show 20 to 50 hp for all three models. I don't think you would have a problem with a 5 ft model and 23 PTO HP. Kinda like anything else, if you get into some thick stuff, just have to slow down a bit. It would be good if you could find the specs for the cutter you are getting just to be sure. Below is link to Frontier site so you can see what I was saying. Hope this helps. johndeere.widen.net/s/ztkv9f8wfp/dsfe55326-sickle-bar-mowers

Great video. I noticed you have the same hood set up as me can you show or tell me how to take the hood off and eve adjust it back some.
I would be glad to tell you, but fortunately I haven't had to remove the hood or adjust it. It has opened and closed with no issues for 3 years now and no problems with the latch. I will definitely take a look this weekend and see if I can tell how to remove it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Jeff You’re dating yourself 😅😂 Nice job putting out the maintenance list. I wish people would do that stuff, it would be awesome 👍💪🇺🇸🚜
Yes, I like that LOL. Thanks for checking it out. Have a good week.
I am starting to worry about the gremlins who are loosening the bolts. My CK is going on 2-1/2 years old and they haven't been around yet. Every time I attempt to take a bolt out, it requires a breaker bar and 4'-0" cheater bar to loosen, not to mention the possible chance of hernias! I am thinking who ever tightened the bolts on my tractor was also the one who installed the filters, which required about 980 Ft. Lbs. +/- to remove. Never have I experienced a spin on filter that took that much force to remove. Still line marked the bolts just in case the gremlins pay me a visit! If they can loosen the bolts, I don't want to be around! P.S. I won't offer my opinion on the manuals, *^^$#(^%%$. Please keep the video's coming, outstanding!! Best regards, John M.
Hey John, glad to hear you haven't had any issues with loose bolts. Only ones I have had are the loader grease fitting retainer bolts. No problems with any others. Totally agree with you on the manual. I'm guessing that the people who are having a lot of issues with the bolts could be due to the dealers not correctly torquing them. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
Where'd you get the coyote brush guard
Something I put together myself. I made the brush guard from expanded metal and ordered the metal Coyote from a yard art website. I cut the stand off the bottom of the Coyote and then attached the Coyote to the brush guard. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video. I did start my own game of taking a drink everytime you said "per your manual ". One thing I noticed is about half way the video starts getting blurry. An what knot and it's gettin burry an what knot... you know the thing......
I'm with you on the "per your manual". Also can't stop saying "umm", and "well anyway". Guess it's just frozen in my head. Don't even realize I'm saying this stuff until I watch the video back. Anyway, glad you liked the video and thanks for watching and commenting.
As usual Jeff, great video. I too had an issue with the zerk retainer bolts on the loader,,,, Initially! But haven't had a problem since. OH, I just changed the Hyd fld for the first time on my CK3510Hse. Thae picture in the owner's manual for the location of the drain plug, is ridiculous! I don't know why the don't let someone in the U.Sl write them. It's "almost" useless. Anyway! Keep um coming! Tony in MS
Totally agree about the manual. I feel like just about everyone has issues with the loader bolts. Seems like it would be something the mfg's could easily correct if they really wanted to. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
@williamaultman9988 The new loader , at least the C model does not have bolts on the zerks to back out.
Great Thanks Again!
Great vid! Would you happen to have the name of the eBay seller? I’m looking now and can’t seem to find. Thanks
Yes, Rite-Way Mfg. Check out the video around the 15:10 mark and you will see the information on the ebay seller. I might suggest the step with the 8" drop over the 5" that I chose. I ended up extending mine to allow more clearance for your foot when steeping up. Thanks for checking out the video.
I was looking at that exact type ripper, and according to their notes, you have the replaceable tooth mounted upside down. Just FYI
Not sure. That's the way it came from Titian just as you see it in the video. I do see in the online manual what you are saying. The photos on the website seem to show it as I have it mounted. Either way, it does work well and I'm sure you would get good use out of it. Thanks for checking it out and commenting.
I had to this in a hurry one morning my first winter with the tractor. I found I had to "sit hard" as the weather got colder to make the switch. One morning I couldn't sit hard enough so I figured out which wires went to the switch, cut them and joined them with a butt connector. I had to blow the lane to get to work so I was happy I could get it to start
That’s good info to know. I could see where the cold would make the seat hard and less flexible. Glad you were able to bypass it and get her going. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
One of these connected to a solar panel will a project I need do soon. These are must have around the shop for equipment running batteries, like generator, pressure washer etc... I use the brand NOCO but had a HF a while back and worked great. Good reminder no forget about the batteries in winter. Thank you.

You are very welcome. Hope you guys have been doing well. I'm sure you are getting stocked up on plenty of firewood. Have a great week.
This video is very helpful Jeff. Thats only method I tried so far is to back up. That always seems to work on my CK2620. I’ll try the other methods as well. It makes sense that with a hydrostatic transmission that it is a pressure relief issue, so that other means of relieving the pressure would work as well. This problem is unlike trying to shift the transfer case on my 1970s 4x4 pickup where that was likely a gear meshing/unmeshing issue.
Hi Will, good to hear from you. Yes there has definitely been a learning curve with these modern tractors as opposed to the stuff we grew up on. Seems like maybe they should have even installed a pressure relief button, knowing that the shifting is difficult due to pressure. But fortunately these little tricks do help out. Thanks for checking it out and commenting. Take care.
Good tips, they mostly apply to shifting the gear ranges, too. At least on my branson tractor, it sometimes takes some fidgeting to shift. Even my tacoma needs some playing with at times to disengage 4x4 or the rear diff locker.
Yes, it seems to be a common thing with a lot of hydrostatic equipment. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
My tractor always is almost always driven on soft ground. My place is very hilly too and it’s a bit dangerous driving a tractor up and down a hill in 2wd. When I have transferred to 2wd I’ve found it difficult to do so. I’ll keep these tips in mind. Thanks.
Totally agree. 4WD can definitely help to keep things more stable when on hilly terrain. I should have mentioned that point in the video. Thanks for the great feedback and thanks for watching.
Hey Jeff! Yep! That about covers all tips I know. Good stuff. The only thing I would add is that, I often use 4x4. Most of my property is hilly. Given we don’t have front brakes, 4x4 can save you if you get light in the rear when hauling a load in the bucket. If the rear wheels lift, you have no brakes😊 Have a good one buddy!!!
@@tractorrookie great point. Run away tractor would not be a good thing. Good info, thanks for the feedback. Have a great one.
I've posted a few shorts. You should be able to see them on my channel.
@@backyardcountrylivin1514 okay, cool! I guess I didn’t realize that!
Awesome videos. I have the 2023 version of the CK3510. Quick Question, are your tires filled? How heavy is your box blade for counterweight? I lifted 900lb bags of stone from Lowes off my trailer with hooks on my bucket with no rear attachment and my tires are not filled. I took my time, but I had to be on Super level / solid ground to get them off. Still undecided on filling my tires. Just incase i need to use her in the front yard
Yes, got the rear tires filled at dealer when I bought the tractor. That's still not enough counterweight for the amount of weight this tractor can lift. The 5 ft box blade I have weighs 475 lbs and not sure if you can see in this video there is a orange metal box mounted on top of the box blade that is full of bricks. That adds a little over 200 more lbs. So in total, I have close to 700 extra lbs, plus the weight of the loaded rear tires. That seems to be enough, as I can pretty much max out the lift capacity of the loader without lifting the rear wheels off the ground. Hope this info helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The paint marks on bolts just means that bolt were torqued they do that for assembly
Yes and those marks give you a good way to keep a check on them. Fortunately I haven’t had any to work their way loose. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
I've had 2 in 83 hours on my 6020. But really only 1 because I didn't know about keeping the rpms up since this was my first big tractor.
@@jeffpaul8260 that’s sounds really good. I probably don’t keep my rpms up as much as I should. If I did I’m sure the regens would be less frequent. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
Actually 89 hours. I regen yesterday. About 25 mins it took. @backyardcountrylivin1514
Very informative. As a first-time tractor owner I wasn't sure what to buy, thankfully the dealership where I bought my Kioti talked to me, asked me what I planned to use it for and where I live. After explaining what I was planning on using it for and the fact that I live in the mountains of Georgia they highly recommended the Hydrostatic. I couldn't be happier with it!
Hi John, glad they were able to help you make the right choice. I feel the same as you, the hydrostatic is so easy to operate and I’m also glad I went with that option. We’re you guys affected by the hurricane in your area? Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
@@backyardcountrylivin1514 Luckily we were spared from the storm.
Going to be keeping up the homestead. Couple of acres. Also gardening here in eastern NC. Only hills are ditch banks. LOL Tiller work and cultivating mostly. You think I would be ok with the hydrostat. Never driven one. Like you, I grew up in the 70-90's working on farms and gear driven is all I have ever known. Don't mind learning something new just want to try and make the best decision.
Yes, I think it would be a good fit. I have a 5 ft tiller and it handles it with no problem. I can't imagine doing some of the loader work that I have done if I had chosen a gear tractor. I never really associated a hydrostat with a tractor. Once I got mine then I fully understood how easy it is to drive and how it is a must for loader work. If you go to my channel, I have quite a few videos using it that may help you get a better understanding of what it can do. I would suggest you drive one at the dealer to see what it is like. Hope this helps and good luck with your homestead. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Jeff! Good job. I love hearing tractor class 101, I always learn new things being a rookie tractor guy. If we were talking police cars, I definitely could tell you my experience and preference. Learning about tractors has been fun! Keep up the good work! Cheers😊🚜🇺🇸
Hey Mike, to be a rookie I think you handle the tractor very well. I definitely don't know very much about police cars, except they have sirens LOL. Thanks for checking it out.
He needed a 35hp tractor to pick up a tin can, and two car tyres. Not paid by the hour then
@@666bruv Yeap and a fine job it did. I’m just glad the can didn’t have anything in it or I’m sure it wouldn’t pick it up. Thank for watching.
100% agree. Ag work tractor better with gear transmission. For anything else hydro. On gear tractors you don't need to step on the gas like on a hydro which for agricultural work, long lines plowing, tilling etc is more convenient.
Yeap, hard to beat the old school gears for muscle work, but the hydro definitely has its place. Thanks for checking it out.

@@barbaramorris9184 yes I know I got lucky and had that material laying around from someone that moved out of a rental house. I’m not even sure where you could buy something like that, maybe a roofing company or something. A heavy duty tarp might work as long as you don’t drag it over something sharp. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.
Yep.......had the same issue with my Kubota. Figured out the same solution. Raise the front wheels, slightly, with the FEL and it'll shift in and out of 4wd very easily. I'm sure your video will help many HST tractor users. Good info. Thanks.
@@joeyw4442 Hi Joey, yes that seems to be a common thing with most hydrostatic transmissions. Glad you were able to figure it out as well. Another tip that a viewer left, was to turn the steering wheel back and forth a few times and that would also relieve the pressure and it would come out of 4wd. I have tried that on two occasions now while gently applying pressure to the 4wd lever and then turning the wheel back and forth and it did work. Thanks for watching and commenting.
