Why are all these “Greek” people commenting about how this isn’t Greek? 🙄. When you say Gyros, in America, this is what it is. There is a Gyro place by my house founded in 1976, both people are from Greece, 🇬🇷, barely speak English and this is how they do it.

Unfortunately I didn’t liked your gyro meat. I found it way too greasy and nothing but breadcrumbs. It released tons of grease that I had to suck up with paper towels. I didn’t enjoyed the flavor.

Is it possible to buy the chicken gyro meat for home? I don’t need 20lbs of chicken gyro meat. I get chicken gyros at a diner near me and they use what looks like formed chicken. I would love to be able to buy it

As Greek I can verify this is not how we do it. I have seen type mostly in easter style Kebab restaurants. In Greece we use cuts of mean from parts of the neck and shoulder with a good meat to fat ratio and never this ground meat style.
