Your not looking for rust your looking for green or white corrosion from water ingress. Its best to view the board under a microscope to look for bad solder joints that is a common issue with vehicles and that is caused by heating, cooling and vibration, plus the fact manufacturers use lead free solder which does not flex well.
you have a short on the side of the 16 pin connection. i have the short too but i do not see the values of the resistors to replace them, can you send me pictures please. thank you very much. greetings.
Thanks for the video, it was helpful! Curious if the car was throwing some error codes that were helpful/related to the BCM before you started this process?
My 2010 Mazda 6 just started flashing BSM last week on the 1st day of frosty winter. I changed my tires recently to winter tires and the bsm was working after that as well but like after 3-4 days, we had a cold frosty day with snow and then next morning my bsm off started flashing, i think maybe its the right side that is having issue but I dont know. I scanned with forscan and the error that i am seeing is b118:15-8A and u3000:01-8a for the bsm right and just u3000:01-8a for the left. I dont know what to do. winter really brings a lot of problems to car here.
I clipped ferrite cylinder and tie wrapped it to the battery wires , the fan power wires etc to suppress any electrical surges that will destroy sensitive and expensive control modules. The car is a hot and hostile environment for electronics, especially if repeated voltage surge when items power up.
My new cooling fans arrived today for my 2010. Fans run when then want including when the car is off. In 09 -10 the fan control module was built into the fans. Dumb... Was hoping to swap a simple module but looks like the fans won't be too difficult. Thanks!
This is the ONLY video I’ve found. Working on my brother in laws 2010 Mazda 6 S. AC doesn’t blow cold because the cooling fans won’t stay on or don’t go full on and can find literally nothing for it. Only for the 2003-2008
My issue is that my car won't turn off. Also, the cluster lights are all on even when I plug the battery. The power locks, windows, ac and so on do not work. Once I turn the key to turn off the car, the car stays on and the cluster lights also stay on. The only way to turn off the car is to remove the Main relay and remove the ground battery or else it will drain it. I can't find anybody to help me. I've replaced the ignition coil and it didn't help. I don't know what else to do. I'm hoping is the BCM .
So I just took my 2011 Mazda 6 in to the dealer because my keys unpaired to the car after I accidentally left the sunroof open and rain water got into the car. They told me it would cost $1200 to fix and they can’t guarantee it will work. However they told me it’s likely an issue with my BCM. Would you be able to make a video to show how you were able to take it out of the car and inspect it?
Hey man! I was able to find where the BCM is in my car but it’s so close to the fuse box that it’s scary to take out. Can you show how you safely got it out? My worry is that i could damage the fuse box
Thanks, informative video. In my car, the front side trim is held by a clip and a "stud bolt". It looks like a receded thread. How did you remove it?
Can you show the radiator

Thanks for the video. Didn't know it would come apart. Hopefully I can find my issue with in the bcm board.
Do know if this is the same for a 2006 Mazda6?

Ok how about the Cx-9?

do you have that address of who fixed your bcm ? how long did it take?

I have the same issue. Anyway what happens next? Did you change to a new bcm or there is a hack?
I have the same problem, you can fixed the problem ?
Nope until now I'm just using the key to open the door
How did it end? Did you replace the bcm?
Unfortunately, buying a PCM is not expensive, but programming it is. The end result is that I use the key to unlock the door.
Thanks for your review, it was determined by my Mazda dealership my BCM needed replacing

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll post one. Why not.
