Honestly ai generation is the perfect way to depict cosmic horror. The whole thing about The Old Ones being "incomprehensible" is that they're so alien the human mind can't conceive what they actually look like, so we imagine them as giant monsters because that's the only way we can manage to describe them. AI does pretty much the same thing by generating the most probable output from a set of data it's given.

While watching this I honestly couldn't tell if this was fully ai generated, ai spliced with live action footage, or some kind of extreme masterful editing/animation. It actually made me curious about your process so I went to take a look at your other stuff, and the way you use ai is really cool! the constant bright colors and bizzare shapes really does make this look like something from a far-future sci-fi setting

Absolutely loved it! Hilarious, trippy and very on point

This is honestly some of if not the best use of AI image generation in a story... It's very unique, and I specially loved the details added in that alude to problems that the AI models often run into when generating speech and images. For example, Synthiola's hair turning green as time went on, in parallel to how the model acts less and less like what the real iola does. Hell, even just the commentary on how dangerous and worrying it is that big model corporations are promoting AI over actual human interaction is a very good thing to bring up... Not even a couple hours ago, I got an ad for an "AI girlfriend" app and was just.. appalled. How is this moral? How many people have been using this instead of building true, healthy relationships..? That's pretty much what's been happening in this story. At the same time that generative AI can contribute to us, be it art, entertainment and text aid, the fact that it's being pushed as a way to simulate any form of human interation that always tries to please our own views, moral or not, is downright dystopian, and this short showcases that very well. Down to how disgusted iola was to witness what had been happening with her simulated self, to how the core AI model physically resembles a leech that feeds on any information it's fed. Loved this short, it's clear lots of thought and passion was put into it, and I hope more people see it!!
