Old Town, Staten Island. The first permanent European settlement on SI was nearby, hence the name. In Dutch, it was called “Oude Dorp” (Dorp being Dutch for “town”). There’s a station further down the line called New Dorp (“New Town”). And here ends the Staten Island history lesson for today. 😂

I first travelled to the Catskill region in 2016, and it was such a a breathtaking experience driving along Route 17. But this area is a prime example of a transit desert. They really need to restore passenger service in The rest of Sullivan County , Delaware County, Broome County, Tioga etc all the way to Jamestown at the end of the New York Border. They could propose a plan to extend service past Port Jervis, New York. Just a thought
