AM Dressage to Music at Windmill Farm 73.33%
Alfie (Diluccio) having a crack at AM Dressage to Music at Windmill Farm. Fab venue, good warmup and amazing surfaces. Well run & quick with the scores.
Alfie was a good boy, 73.33% . He's not been there before and was his usual self, forward going & full of energy! Half passes left in trot and canter he got a little short in the neck and his changes were actually off my aid! I was happy with the test, things to work on still so was thrilled with 73.33% and the judge actually liked the music and floor plan! =D

Gunner team SJ 2nd round 85cm

Round 2, 85cm Not one of Gunner and I's smoothest rounds, I decided to pep him up a bit more than he was in the first round. Gunner was very kind to me, it starts well with a blip in the middle, he could easier have deposited me on my head over fence 6, fence 7 into the plank bogey fence I didn't help him at all resulting in a very curious line to 8 fence! The rest of the team had done fab agai...

BRC Novice Winter team SJ Qualifier. Team Newlands Corner The first 3 team members had jumped fab clears so there was no pressure on us. Gunner just felt a little too laid back and tapped a fence.
Back on a horse after 3 months off from spinal surgery
มุมมอง 1K10 ปีที่แล้ว
07/08/14 Three months ago I had spinal decompression surgery, microdiscectomy & laminectomy l5/s1. This was my first sit back on my horse. =D I was only on for 20 mins. Walk & trot. Sitting was actually more comfortable than riding. I did a tiny canter and it was too much for me, could just feel my lower back pulling a bit too much (I was told it would be) so no cantering for a few more weeks. ...
Advanced Medium dressage to music.
มุมมอง 1.9K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Alfi and I at Oldencraig 29/11/13. 2nd attempt at an Advanced Medium dressage to music. We got 69.33%. My first music of the day I'd managed to submit the wrong music so was very relieved to hear the correct music playing for our advanced medium, so much so I totally forgot my floor plan. None of this floor plan was planned, all made up on the spot but the judge seemed to like it. We're not gre...

Called Mums test wrong for her. Whoops!!
Hi there, I bought Tia off James when she was 18 - she was 18 going 8! Still jumping, and loved her schooling such a good girl. Fantastic horse sadly died recently at a very good age, she was very much loved and had a wonderful life!
I have now had 7 months off riding from spinal surgery and dying to be back in the saddle. I know o can ride now but my question is how do you know your body is ready. For the movement? For the fall? Etc?
Hi, shortly after that video I sprained my ankle quite badly so had another 6 weeks off riding. When I got back on the next time canter was fine. I did an Advanced-Medium dressage test 7 months post surgery with no problems. I'd say it took 12months to feel at full strength. It really is about being truthful about how your body feels. I don't jump anymore, just hacking and dressage (maybe the odd log in the woods too - I doubt I'll compete at jumping/ eventing again) . My horse however does like to throw in a good few bucks and leaps - they don't cause me any problems. I haven't fallen off since surgery, but I have been skiing and taken some crashing falls and been fine. Please feel free to ask any more questions.
How are you now ? Hope you are going well 😁 I am wondering when I may be able to ride ...just to walk around would be great to start with Had my Spinal Fusion last year
I had scoliosis surgery. I also made a video about it on my channel
That's so awesome! I just had the same surgery as you and I am hoping to get back in the saddle by the end of the year! This video makes me hopeful that I can still ride in the future:)
Chelsea Moomaw How are you going ? Are you riding ? Had my Spinal Fusion last year
Really nice test
Wow can't believe you made this up going along! Great test
What songs did you use for the test? I couldn't really hear them (:
lovely x
OMG the music is perfect for him! Especially the first bit for his trot!
That was lovely! well done and well done test caller, brill job :)
well done, nicely ridden. :-)
Lol x
Thanks for uploading this I'm doing this test in my first ever pure dressage competition in 2 weeks! This really helped :)
Aw lovely :) Haha i think you might be just a little bit too big for her :-P x :)
Aw lovely! Good luck with him :)
Hey! This is amazing, What is this horse called? And how big is he? - Sorry, you can never tell from the vids Haha :)
Thanks for this! Whats your horse called? Subbed, plz sub back?
Lovely test! I'm doing this test at oldencraig soon so it was good to watch a video before! x
well done! I'm doing this on saturday, only the 4th time i've taken my boy out and i'm so nervous! are callers allowed? i think i know this by heart, but i'm so scared i'm gonna mess up lol! You have a beautiful horse, good luck with him in the future! x
@caz230284 I'm glad you can ride him again, though! Lameness is a tough battle :/ He's a gorgeous horse, I hope he continues to stay sound for you!
How is he doing this year?
hes a credit to you well done x
@caz230284 Ill take your word for it!! What is it like as a 1st novice?
very nicely ridden :)
very nice riding.. and beautiful horses! i really like the second horse!
I wasn't keen on Lincoln this year, thought they had put the dressage on the worst ground ever, was so hard, they used to put it where the warm up was this year. My mare had only been in work 8 weeks so it jarred her up a bit, we got a 6th individually but think i'll give it a miss next year !! Glad i wasn't jumping there. Can't beat the partying tho, thats all we do @ Puk !!! best bit !! Good luck @ Hartpury :)
What did you think of Lincoln ?
really intersting to see. thanks for putting it on here as really didnt know what to expect. doing our first BE90 JAS in Jan with my 5yo mare. I think you did a nice clear round...didnt realised it was marked like dressage....hmmm.... the only thing I can see from your vid is that you are fixing your hands a bit.... but I thought you rode well..... dread to think what I'd look like...eeek! x
wow well done! Looked great im doin P12 on sunday in champtionships on my 4y.o eekkk
Yeah its probably his back that is not strong enought to carry that much pressure. Try a German Martingale and what this dos is that it sits its head to flex at the poll and to have its head equal to the height of its withers and that will give it strenght and little by little he'll get stronger. By the way, what are the mirrors for. (just curious)
How do you tell if a horse is lame?
what a pretty horse! and despite the lameness, he's got a really nice canter!
Yeh i know, to me his head is what made it so obvious! Well at least you got an okay mark on your record, but that is pretty poor from a BE judge! Good luck with the vet!! :)
I could be wrong, but it looks to me as if its more in his hind leg than front :S x
That is a little mean score wise I think as all in all it looks to be a solid test. Mind you for some reason I usually find that if I feel Harvey has been hyper and gone really badly I always get good marks and if he is quite and relaxed they always seem to tell em he isn's showing his paces?? Sometimes you never know what the judges are looking for! Thanks for the feedback. Looks like you have a lovely horse in Basil.
So pleased I found this clip. I have to do this very test tomorrow and at Merrist Wood too... It makes it so much easier to learn by watching it rather than just reading the test. Also it's great when people put the test numbers & names on their videos so they can be easily found. Here's hoping Harvey is as well behaved as Basil! What % did you get for this test in the end out of interest? and if you have any tips for me fire away:) Thanks.
Well done, Prince did so well, he just seemed to take it all in his stride
aww, well good luck!
Hes lovely! Well done.. what are you plnning to do with him.. event? x
Might not help at all but it did for me so it could be worth a try!All myvids are old btw so hes no completly sound in them. Sorry about all the comments... wouldnt fit in one!!
told me to work him much lower at home and more relaxed so his poll is lower than his withers which strengthens thier back. Ive been doing this for a couple of months and he is 100% sound all the time now. So it could be he has a bit of a weak back (you can test by runnng your first finger and thumb down thier spine and applying preesure and if they dip thier back it means they are slightly weak).
My horse was a bit like this too a while ago.. We took him to a physio at west wilts called tex gamble (in Wiltshire not sure how far that is for you) and he put him right. He was okay for about a month and then it came back (we too had x rays etc...) we went back to the guy we brought him off and he said it was the way I was working him.. (very much the same way you work him). He
Wow well done... lovely round!! You are very good at seeing a stride. perfect stride into pretty much all the fences! Well done.
The course is so cool and both horses are gorgeous and honest.
Aww Prince did so well! I think he's going to be future eventing superstar!
Hee hee hee! That's very funny! Did you get marked down for it? I always think it's so stupid to mark down a test for tail swishing.
how did you do in this intro??? watched ur dressage too you 2 look really good xx
how big are the jumps at pre novice level and where can you find out about these events as i live in east Yorkshire and cant find any? test is absolutely fantastic, don't know what the judge was on nd its a much better test than me nd ma horse can produce. well done anyway.
