Black River Public School is a not-for-profit public school chartered by Grand Valley State University. Located in the historic Holland Furnace building near downtown Holland, Black River serves students in grades K-12.

Our middle school and high school offer a college preparatory liberal arts program that employs smaller class size to create an environment thriving on participation, responsiveness, and experiential learning. We use an integrated curriculum, demonstrating relationships among fields of study.

Our elementary school is Montessori-based and fosters student achievement and responsibility in smaller sized classes and individualized learning plans to enhance advancement and develop a love of learning.

Our students are encouraged to participate in our competitive athletic teams, our creative fine arts programs, and a variety of clubs and activities such as robotics, astronomy, and Youth in Government, just to name a few.
