Could you build a no till drill seeder that is human powered?

try adding a big flywheel (30-40lbs should be good) - it'll take a little more to get going, but while you're going it'll have a much smoother operation.

I'm laughing, with joy actually. That is really, really cool. I'm a no-till/no-disturbance/mulcher/cover cropper myself but that is the best showpiece of no-oil-input agriculture i have seen sofar. Honestly though, i'm crying for your soil life (nudge, nudge, could use a bit of that where it is aplicable, nudge. :D) but we do the best we all can to turn this thing around to something more susainable and that is definitely much more sustainable. Some engineers just have magic minds. Beautiful!

I wonder if a cable drawn plough powered by a stationary bike on the side of the plot, like they used to do with steam engines, wouldn't be more energy efficient? You could even have several people pedalling on a tandem (or more) style stationary bike. Or get a mule ; )

Whether using tractors or draft animal, the load has always been behind the powered wheels - just saying. Technological wisdom is learned over time.

A search for a childhood pedal tractor brought me here. Granny gears and more weight would work for heavier tasks.

A terrible video! Impossible to gauge actual productivity, effort and depth! Shoot this again - and STAND STILL while shooting. Explain how much effort is involved by the rider, how deep the cut is. Right now, this looks like a glorified hoe and not much more.
