Excellent!
How do you get 0.305m
He converted it to meters
How do I find the thickness if it is not given?
Dear Dr, Thanks for your sharing!
How do we get the soil pressure if we have a uniaxial and biaxial load?
Very clear! Thanks!!
Wow.. absolutely loved this class…thank you sir🫡
Hello sir, thank you very much! This video really helped me understand the designing of footings. Is it possible to have a copy of that lesson?
I have a question with the units regarding the Two-way shear. When I take the root of 20x10^3 KN/m^2 I obtain 141.42 which in the end does not give me your same results. But if I calculate the root of 20x10^6 N/M^2, I get 4472.13 that in turn gives me your exact results, so the question is, should the results be in Newtons not KN?
Sir, Your vedios are easy to understand. Please upload more vedios of other branches
Please what Code is this?
Anyone know where the rho required formula (at 52:46) is from? Can anyone point to it in the ACI?
It is not an ACI equation, it is simply the workout of a second order equation where everything is given except the reinforcement (As or rho). The equation is explained in the first half of Part-5 of my basic concrete course (you can ignore the R-factor not to get confused), you may need to watch part-4 first as part-5 is based on it.. Here is the video for part-5: th-cam.com/video/TQwgYveGKLM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7wemHq5kDaZYWTXZ
Thank you sir

how to get Qnu ?
column ultimate load divided by the footing area.
Thank you for video. so helpful. One question regarding effective flange width. I have seen effective flange width in a book as beff=min ( L/4, bw+16t,beam spacing). Can you explain pls. Thanks
These tutorials are such insightful ❤❤❤🎉
One of the best design videos thank you ❤
For two-way slab : In the real world practice, is it acceptable that load carried by short beam is W x (L short/2); long beam is W x (L short/2), the load considered there is rectangular not trapezoidal and triangular. W is in kN/m2. Thanks in advance for the reply.
this will be conservative and your beams will be over-designed (meaning: you will be loading them with more than the real load).
@@structuralgeeks63 If it's loaded more than the real load, then it is not economical and without a doubt, not acceptable. Thanks for your explanation. Your contents are awesome. You really have the qualities of an educator. Please continue for more. Salute to you. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm privileged to have come across your channel. You are great teacher. Please is ACI and BS code same?
Thank you for your comment, ACI is the American Concrete Institute, which are the used standards in the US. BS are the British Standards, mostly used in UK. In fact there are differences between the two codes, several research papers and websites addressed the differences: here is one of them as an example: www.researchgate.net/publication/264150951_Comparison_between_reinforced_concrete_designs_based_on_the_ACI_318_and_BS_8110_codes

I am enlightened by your teachings.. sir I have a question, which is why do we provide additional bars in slab and also in raft foundation aside the facts that we are dealing with positive and negative moments
Thanks for your question, in face for slabs and raft, normally the steel mesh is made to cover a certain moment capacity, at locations this moment capacity is exceeded, addition reinforcement shall be provided to increase the flexural capacity and cover the needed demand. This way the design is economic, and we are not providing excessive reinforcement allover the slab/raft.

Hi , Do you have any other courses?
Sir , Do you have concrete -2 course too?
جزاك الله خير وشرح اكثر من ممتاز ويدل على فهمك العميق وعقلية مهندس انشائي من الدرجة الاولى
Can i get all documents for this course , sir?
Just Awesome 😄😄 Keep Going ❤️❤️
very helpful video for my PE civil exam.
Sir thanks but one question when it design at exterior panel Soo what condition is apply.
Great Explanation, Thank you Very much!
just awesome 😃 Keep going ❤️
Excellent Video 👏👏😀
assalamu aliakum sir , could i get the slide of all this lectures please thanks in advance
Hello, how do I design a T-beam with reinforcement in the upper part, that is, when the moment is negative or the beam is close to the support?
What chapter is coefficient method in ACI 318 - 14 ?
can you share the spreadsheet for my reference? Thanks in advance, sir.
Teru neger new yemteseraw
how decide beam design as single, double or as T beam
That's a good question, in general, designing it as R-beam with single reinforcement (only tension side counts) is the safest and the most conservative way to go (so it is my first choice all the time), if you are limited with the amount of steel and the beam dimensions (and you need higher strength) then you may need to consider adding that extra strength given to the section by the use of compression reinforcement (doubly reinforced) and by using the T-beam analysis. I hope this explains it...
is this code is this ? ACi? canadian?
I am following the ACI-318 code
good morning sir. where can i get a copy of all your lectures? thank youu
check this folder: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pAsyJTKAWh1PyoEIIRdjHx5XSF7a7mVK?usp=sharing
Thank you for sharing soft copies Sir!
Thank you so much sir. I had problems understanding the support conditions, but your video made it clear. I hope to support your channel any way possible. Love from Bangladesh.
Nice lecture easy to understand, btw are you an Arabic or Turkish? lol 12:20
i guess Arabic
thank you, Arabic :)
Tanks you for your lecture. Is this design according to the Eurocodes? (EC7). Best Regards from Portugal.
Sorry for the late reply, It is according to the ACI code
Is it permissible to use this method now?. The new code does not mention this method or use it.
what happens if the slab is on the ground?
Please continue 🙏🏻 this is very helpful
Could you please provide a ACI METRIC references books with all numericals that would be greatly appreciated
Thank you so much that was a great explanation.. There are no much videos on ACI METRIC.. Finally I found yours.. Appreciate your efforts... Many thanks
the correct number for rho was 39 not 29
