No its not stargazing….its similar to it but it is Twirling they both are different things. Stargazing is not due to any aetiology its usually stress overcrowding high perches or because of a feeling of confinement in birds usually seen in finches. Symptoms are the bird moves the head forwards or backwards (not not sideways as in the video) Best way to cure is make the cage big, or lower the perches or let the bird out for some time in the day to exercise and stretch its muscles. Twirling on the other hand is shown in the video the head in bending sideways and can cause many problems in the bird can be due to poisoning CMV infection or ear rupture…..if its bacterial Nystatin may help in these cases. But best to make a vet visit. Its really devastating to see this.

Sadly when birds have this disorder they don't like to eat so you have to force them to eat or they will get sicker.

See a vet as it could be an infection, but also try changing the bird diet if possible, you could be feeding them a too high fat seed diet, try adding more fruit and vegetables to the diet.

Take to a vet if possible but if you can't try changing the diet of the bird, like try a low fat seed and offer more fruit and vegetables to the bird. Do try and see a vet as it could be an infection from something.

If possible take the bird to the vet!! They will give medications and special food for the birdy, I did that for my bird that had stargazing/this same disorder! I don't know what he did but stargazing can be a nutrition thing or an infection so definitely check it out!! Mine was nutritional and it was cause my bird was eating high fat seed and stuff. I don't know if this will help but I thought I'd at least leave a comment!! Hope your bird is okay! :)

Is not what he feed, is that he "force" the bird to strait her neck while eating... This strategy may only work if the bird was ingesting only a little quantity of poison:(

@@GS-fd4go It depends how affected the bird was; poisoning may cause death, but it seems like that bird was lucky... Few months ago I could not save a collared dove:(
