That was amazing. So many great players in one band!
Really swinging!
Time for bands like => Rufus Temple (Germany) and The Fried Seven (NL) on the Withley Bay concerts.
according to Biden, the people in this video are "garbage"......
Sounds good.🎺🎹🎷🥁🎼
Peacock Tv Muzik Enjoy........
I love that banjo player!!! He's holding everything together beautifully.
Big compliments to Rob! Very cool relaxed drum solo... I love that groovy style 😎👍🥁 Very cooool 😎👍

Thank you for recording and posting this!
Does the clarinetist play with Ewan Bleach's Fleeting paradise jazz orchestra?
I have listened carefully to this bands rhythm section on this and other tunes that have been uploaded, and I have to say, that I have not heard a worse rhythm section anywhere in my entire lifetime of playing and listening to jazz. Where did these clowns come from ? Who on earth told them to play in public when it is clear that they need at least another few years rehearsal before they should be allowed to be heard by a jazz audience. Keeping time is one thing, but this swings like a turd in a bucket of treacle.
"swings like a turd in a bucket of treacle" is one of the funniest things I've read
What’s not to like from Palm city, Florida
Enrico Tomasso👏👏👏👏👏💥🎶🎼🎵
Legend! 👍
How lovely to stumble upon this short piece of film and thanks for uploading it. I remember very well playing with Enrico Tomasso in the Isle of Man during the mid nineteen-eighties, and apart from being a fine player, he was also a lovely guy, I was at that time playing double bass in a trio based in the Isle of Man. Give my best wishes to the great man from The Netherlands, where I ended up playing guitar in the style of Django Reinhardt for a living. I guess that we are about the same age, knocking on eighty years old and still buzzing with energy.
Hi Anthony and thanks for your kind comments. I think Rico is on Facebook so you might be able to contact him direct. Have you also seen videos of him playing with Ewan Bleach's orchestra ( here's an example th-cam.com/video/yULRvw5rRqk/w-d-xo.html) or with the Midnite Follies Orchestra or with various bands during his many appearances at the fantastic Whitley Bay Classic Jazz Party?
Thanks, William. Good fun and well filmed. I hadn't heard this before but it's clearly a 32-bar a-a-b-a tune, played here in B flat. Having just listened to the Cootie Williams original (unsurprisingly also played in B flat), I'm impressed by the respect with which Enrico's band recreates it.
Thanks Ivan. It was a great session and featured plenty of classic John Kirby Sextet numbers. My John Kirby vinyl album, bought in the early 70s, is now getting plenty of plays on my trusty Dual 505 turntable and hi-fi gear. Rico has also been playing with the recently reformed Midnite Follies Orchestra and Ewan Bleach's new Fleeting Paradise Orchestra, both of which feature in You Tube videos. There are many videos featuring Rico, Colin, Mike and Nick in various bands at last year's Whitley Bay Classic Jazz Party. Barbara and I have already booked for this year's event to be held in early November. Regards Bill.
@@UKjazzbandfan Thanks for the news and observations, Bill. Very pleased you will make it to Whitley Bay again. Unfortunately, old age and illness (pretty serious in my wife's case) mean we are mostly confined to the house; and I'm very dependent on TH-cam. My only playing is tinkering on my keyboard.
"Chapeau!" => A very special arrangement in a very high tempo!
Who are the friends?
Sorry, I didn't get their names. Maybe if Albanie or her friends look at this video some time soon they can add the names.
Albanie Falletta is the image of Cool. And the quickness of her hands is almost surprising to an ingenue. she has complete mastery, if anyone can, of her self and her instrument. What a glorious scene beside the Mississippi!
This video is still one of my favourite reminders of a fantastic trip to New Orleans for FQF. Three highly skilled musicians playing happily, in total harmony and in a relaxed setting beside the Mississippi just sum up the magic of the Crescent City. Brilliant! But I wish I had been able to film it on high quality camera, instead of a mini cam that cost £20! By the way, it is still working!
Great stuff. I'm a fan.
Love it!
I love this girl ...
MY TOO
Which one? I love boph of them!
Great stuff - reminiscent of Django Reinhardt and The Quintette of The Hot Club of France.
Alan Bond : Evidemment , th-cam.com/video/p0ha3ah_Wz8/w-d-xo.html ..
Just saw her the other day at the Little Gem with a different set of friends - nice set of southern jazz standards!
Wow, what a great angle. Really shows the wings flexing.
Hi ALJ... I don't use You Tube much at the moment and have only just found your message. There are some other very good duets between Meschiya and Ben (trumpet player) including one where Ben plays a castaway in a sort of play set to the music. Meschiya is a sort of mermaid. Very funny. There is also one when they were in the Loose Marbles band playing in the street.
i love this duet! its my favoryte song of her! thanks for uploading
Hi UKjazzbandfan, What software are you using to edit your videos?
It looked like a nice landing to me. Pretty scenery. Thanks for posting
Hi Bill, Great video. It is amazing how well your camera does and how well you fly the plane. Is that you in the blue shirt at the start of the video?
Hi Spike If it is the same Red Wing as played by the Loose Marbles about four years ago I would definitely like it as a sound track. But I have only just learned how to upload and even edit clips for You Tube and adding sound is my next task.
It is a shame that there is no music on this.... Richie Havens' "High flying bird".. Charlie Barnett's "Skyliner" or George Lewis' "Redwing" might be nice.
Great video. I don't think wobble is too bad. Once its up in the air the shake correction does a good job.
Some very strange distortion on this You Tube version and certainly much worst than I had in mind when I mentioned fin and tailplane wobble.
fantastic stuff, no need to apologise about the film quality, the music quality is superb
To avoid seeing wobbly stanchions etc make sure that you watch in High Definition by clicking on the cog icon below the film and setting it to HD.
Serious distortion on the uploaded version gives the impression that stanchions are made from rubber. Trying to correct it.
Wow! I am flattered. Mr D is THE King of the You Tube jazz movies. Just look at the hundreds of fabulous films he has made of the Loose Marbles, Meschiya and band and Tuba Skinny. Perhaps one day I can make movies in Mr D's premier league. Thanks for the encouragement, Al.
I have one of these small cameras and there is no way I could match what was done here. How you could aim the camera as well as you did and hold it as steady as you did, is great. Meschiya and the Little Big Horns always put on a great show and are very fan friendly. Good stuff. Thanks for posting.
We bought two CDs at the gig, Lucky Devil and an early Loose Marbles album that is full of classic from about 2008. Pure magic.
This was a stunning gig and the first time I have seen this New Orleans band live after following them on You Tube. Meschiya, Ben, Jason, Nate, Russell, Mike, Amy and Chance you were brilliant and it was great to have chats before the gig and in the break. Sorry about this wobbly, jerky film clip but I must learn not to tap my toes and and drum the fingers of my left hand while holding a min cam in my right hand. I hope someone else can do this gig justice with better film footage.
