Terrifier 3 butchered Joker 2 🤡
It's what Todd Philips planned all along cuz he knew it from the very first joker of how successful it was in the box office there ain't no way that they're making a sequel after the first joker. Todd Philips hated his own sequel too and even stated the F word to anybody putting all hates to the sequel. They tried but it was still pretty good ngl “You get what you deserved anyways”
It was definitely not as bad as most people will tell you it was. That being said, i also heavily criticized alot of decisions the movie made and personally would not have gone in the direction the last bit of the movie did.
That’s completely fair! What made you not enjoy the ending of the movie?
@Michael_notscott oh i enjoyed it some, but personally while i was watching i thought it would be more interesting and make more sense to have arthur fleck convincing himself and the court room that the joker isn't real but shortly after when the "bombshell" goes off in the courtroom and the ending events unfold, he realizes he hasn't been fully tapping in to the joker and does at the very end to fully enbrace the persona and give him an excuse to have a more cartoon unrealistic side of him that makes sense how it happens in the real world. But i understand why they did what they did.
Agreed. Any good musical does not need to be a musical. The music is an embellishment; if the story is weak, the music can't save it.
Its not a masterpiece, its a big sarcastic f you to the fans of the first movie, which is what todd Phillips loves to do. Hes done it before where his sequels are just made in spite of the originals
I'm of the opinion that Todd did this sequel out of love for Arthur, not out of spite for the audience. But, in any case, the result remains the same: commentary on how society has failed mentally ill people, mixed with meta commentary on how corrupt the blockbuster film industry and how fickle its audiences are. It's a social study on what we expect of a subject (be it a person or a movie) and how easy we disregard it as soon as it dissapoint us (like Lee and the psycho killer at the end). It is preachy, it is pretentious, it is a bit too nuanced and meta, but it definitely served a bigger purpose than a banal FU to the comic book audience. I consider myself part of that comic book community, but I also understand the need of artistic versatility, creativity, risk-taking and honesty that is lacking nowadays on the Hollywood blockbuster industry. They are whoring the IPs out by doing cheap narrative formulas and fan service just to get the most butts into seats the easiest possible way (BvS, Justice League, Flash, Age of Ultron, No Way Home, the SW prequels, to name some). Sometimes they do it right (like most of Marvel up until Phase 3 and some parts afterwards) but they have also gotten it terribly bad (like the DCEU). I get it, comic book movies is a savvy business venture with high rentability, but big studios "playing it safe" has affected the movie-going audience too into thinking about movies just one way. Everybody wanted "Joker 2: Crazy Psycho Kingpin", not arthouse cinema. Why should we definitely expect to get what we want? Why not being more open to challenges? Phillips didn't actively attacked us to simply tell us to F off, his true purpose is to convey a unique, risky and much-needed message to the audience. Like I already said, it is preachy and pretentious, but at least give him credit for adhering to his artistic principles. I wish Stallone did it with Rambo 2, for example.
The thing is, you have to enjoy being ripped off to consider this a masterpiece. The movie is literaly 20 minutes long. Everything else is him smoking in silence or karaoke.
Watched it twice. It sucks bro. It fucking sucks. Who wanted a musical about a dude that gets assraped by an irishman?
I had a lot of mixed emotion while i was watching it for first time but while thinking about it i started to appreciate it more. Now i really like this movie.
Never have I had 11 minutes of my time wasted like this “It’s a masterpiece”. Continues to criticize it for over half the video. If it’s a masterpiece, it’s basically FLAWLESS. Without flaw. If this is a masterpiece, what an indictment that is on great films Also you’re not proving your point in 11 min. You need WAY more references On a positive note, your editing is ok. Not trying to be flashy or pretentious, and mostly showing relevant visuals. Tip though: don’t cycle trailer footage as the main visual; it looks lazy (cuz it is) and becomes distracting once the viewer notices it, hence taking away from the script (at least the “script” in this case isn’t worth paying attention to) Good start, though, I’ve seen WAY worse. Just think more about what you’re actually saying
@@jodanger37 hey thanks for the constructive feedback! I appreciate it!!
@Michael_notscott np! Keep at it, I see the potential The fact you can actually take my criticism in stride means you’re better than 90 percent of the people on this platform already lol

Someone else gets it! It was almost exactly what I expected and also so much more than I hoped for. As it was closing out and Arthur was dying, I found myself about to cry at the beauty of the thing.
@@HSR107 it was a very well made film! I didn’t get emotional at the end, but I was genuinely caught off guard. Most endings you can see coming. But not that one.
@@Michael_notscott It was the silly romantic expectation that Lee was there to visit Arthur when, in all probability there was no one there and the situation was set up by the guards as a way to murder him by proxy. In no small part because of what Arthur as Joker said about the guards in court. And compounded by Arthur's realization of how badly his fantasies harmed Gary, the only person in Arthur's life who ever actually saw and appreciated him. THe coping mechanisms of an abused mentally ill person being what ultimately broke and then destroyed him just took the entire tragedy of Arthur Fleck to an entirely new level for me..
Whoa u got balls man
Gotta stay true to my beliefs! I’m fine with people hating it, but it seems misunderstood imo
Wow it’s April fools already!
I'm glad I came across the video, but unfrtunately this doesn't change the fact that the movie is boring and doesn't executes it's ideas proprely
Hey, it’s all subjective!! Just because it worked for me doesn’t mean it works for you. Nothing wrong with that!
Lmao it being boring is not a fact, i had a blast watching it, peoole here really dont understand how art works and how it is a subjective experience, then you have people speaking about it in this senseless way...
