Resurrecting a Great video, I just bought an 03 FZ1 as we call it here in the states a few months ago for $2500 , it has about 35,000 miles on it, but it seems these slightly detuned R1 engines can rack up plenty of miles as long as it is taken care of.. I don't know what all has really been done to it, need to get ahold of the original owner and see if it might have an Ivans jet kit perhaps as the mixture screw caps have been removed, so it might very well have the Ivans jet kit, it has a an Akraprovic carbon slip on and is painted in the Yellow and Black Bumble Bee colors and it came with the "very" hard to find engine fairings that you cant find anywhere.. I'm not sure if I like it with the fairings or naked more? The fairings are indeed rare though... Hopefully I can find out if the carbs had an Ivans jet kit or not, as it seems with a few other mods it can give me up to 15-20 more HP and still builds more peek power and little higher up about another 500-800RPM than a stock carb setup that seems to peek HP at between 9800-10,000 RPM.. I was really surprised at how well the bike handled when I test drove it, and I was sold.. Especially after coming off of a 670lb Victory Kingpin that is going up for sale soon! I thought getting older and some health issues that a cruiser would be easier on my titanium plated wrist and weak back, But the FZ1 is plenty comfortable and does not put a lot of weight on my wrist and back like a full on sport bike, but still get similar performance and handling and I am way less skilled than @markrochell4880 and will never ride as hard as you sir! I tried the big American cruiser, but soon as I tried the FZ1 I knew the heavy tank was going to be replaced, Why lug an extra 200+lbs along and get crappy handling when I can have the FZ1 that does it all and can be a cruiser if I want to add some bags plus I have always ridden sport bikes.. I saw a pic the other day on some sight of a guy on a dark red FZ1 leaning the bike all the way over sliding his knees with 2 hard side bags and a large rear bag on top of it!😂
Wind sock on mic would make it more bearable to watch ... guy up front with pillion is irresponsible riding like that with his Mrs on pillion, some sketchy overtakes.
1st gen FZ1 is a reliable tank of a bike. My friends driving their Newer 600 supersports are always surprised. This bike can do this for many hrs during the day.
@@markrochell4880 That's awesome, I raced my fz1 and rode it spiritedly so I did a partial restore at 85k with a fresh engine and some nice mods that it already had and some new ones, better than a new one and still my favorite bike of many owned over the years, glad to hear yours is still out there killing it
@@ccreations123 I had few different bike as well kept the fazer (from new) as I enjoy it more than other bike. Had gsx1000 zzr1400 but not as fun a fazer, now got honda crosstourer for 2up touring.
@sugarrfree had upgrade back in 2014 nitron rear suspension and new spring in front fork. Can't remember which fork oil think 7.5w. Also jack up kit short dog bone to rise rear higher.
I'm pretty sure that after seeing this video, used sales of the Fazer 1000 went up! just got mine yesterday and been thrashing the arse out of it for two days and the only fault i can find is that because of the excellent power and handling i am filling it up after 120miles! Ivanised of course... ;-)))
Not bad, but in future, can you try to have the sun at your back. The video will be better this way. Thanks. This looks extremely dangerous driving! Please be careful. Safety first.

Awesome riding and a fantastic bike. I wouldn't ride anything else. I love how my 2002 model beats most of the bikes out there.
