    Wow I was just 10 years old when this aired I believe I was in 4th grade . This is really going back . My Mother was into OLTL followed by GH on ABC . Eventually I really got into GH in around 1980-1981 when I was 15-16 years old old and in Highschool . But I certainly remember my late mom watching both of these . Miss you Mom and dad😢

    Dorian asking the guy, Finch, how often he and his wife have SEX was the "sexual freedom" that was wanted and sought by the hippie era and today, her asking him something like that out of nowhere while he is discussing business, she could be labeled sexually harassing him.

    If this is the 3rd episode, I think the date should be 8-24-75, according to IMDB. Many many thanks for posting these. They are gold!

    If this is the 4th and final episode, I think the date should be 8-31-75, according to IMDB. But then, why do they sing about seeing everyone next Sunday? Could the date be right, and this is instead Episode 3? Many many thanks for posting these. They are gold!

    This was before my time. Everyone says the press was against or whatever, but he was voted MVP in 1960 & 1961 over Mantle who probably should have won it both years.

    I was 11 in 1961 and I will never forget the home run race between Mantle and Maris. My friends and I where huge yankees fans . I would rush home to listen to the game from school or listen at night, If the Yanks where on TV on Saturday it was like christmas and we would all get together to watch the game, it was great.

    Jameson Parker as Brad Vernon was my first television crush as a boy. Had I known the word, 'Brad' would have been my first clue I was gay. Now that I see him again, I'm not at all surprised. I had great taste even before puberty. Naomi Vernan ended up committed suicide. I recall one episode where she was so very depressed and pathetic with hubby trying to help but unable to reach her. . Quite the actress, to stick the storyline so vividly in my immature mind.

    I think Maris is the real legitimate 61 home run king 💯….Babe Ruth had it easy. Ruth had all kinds of elite people from baseball in his pocket, and what, you think he didn’t have coaches and players in his pocket either? Ruth was wealthy, powerful and had tons and tons of connections and in my opinion had players throw him pitches that were supremely easy to hit. Now when it comes to Maris he had the entire baseball world against him in 61’. Pitchers were not easy on him in any means. Maris fought against every single odds against him in 61’ so in my opinion Maris IS the home run king 💯🔥

    Thank you, George, for showing this. I’ve been a TMT fan for forty years. I have all the albums, then cd’s, and I’ve watched one-song performances as they’re shown on TH-cam. This was bliss! They’ve been at this fifty years! I’m seventy-nine and they have always been my Number One. Thanks!

    Notice that during the end credits they promote "Saturday Night Live" with Howard Cosell. That was not the SNL we all know - but it's the reason that SNL always begins "Live From New York, It's Saturday Night." They weren't allowed to call the show Saturday Night Live because the Cosell show already had that name. So offically SNL was called Saturday Night until cosell was canceled

    If he could, Maris would have had league place a 20ft extension at that RF fence, was always a solid hitter could play at any park. Solid class by not going slappy and bunting, played every game hard as "The Mick" was always given a pass for being sore and would have hit "61" if someone of Carew stature was hitting in front of him and ordered by MLB as to sell tix/pub. Maris true ambassador.

  • @adamtparker6515
    @adamtparker6515 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yanks fans owe alot to Maris as he preserved "The Mick" and to replace a "legend" Babe Ruth who benefitted by short fields, balls supercharged and ol GMs demanding to groove pitches to sell tix, etc (go check out Municipal Stadium Cleveland 1948) any talk of Mick's greatness needs to include Roger. If Roger wasn't at Yankee Stadium he still would have been a solid player drove balls and played hard, as a Fargo youth growing up in 1980's, we appreciated his good play with or without "61". Huh, wives maiden name Carvell. Roger was pretty stocky in good shape cut down way too young and passed away about the same time fam moved out of Fargo. He smoked but there may have been a few docs that had some fan grudges, who knows. 51 way too young😢Lil worried that while attending college at NDSU 94-95 I made a few bucks being a lab rat seeing all these Propecia ads, and Maris losing hair whilst playing, my salad still looks good😊

    Claire Malis was given a good chance in this episode to show how she was going to make Dorian her own character. She played sensual, sad, and efficient in three different scenes in this episode. Kathryn's take on Karen Wolek made it possible for Judith Light's Karen to soar as a character. You already saw the constant need for keeping up with Joneses as a way to compensate for a low self-esteem.

      Cortisone '86 did not help him, had similar "give it all" solid player, bad timing. Well thanks to Ortiz & Co a lil more respect was given to Bill, even when we were forced to have Red Sox hooligan dummies go "Buckner we forgive you now" grr
