🇦🇺 🦘 EXPLORE Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 Walking Tour - 🇦🇺 Australia 🇦🇺
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_Opera_House
The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Located on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour, it is widely regarded as one of the world's most famous and distinctive buildings and a masterpiece of 20th-century architecture.[3][4]
Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon and completed by an Australian architectural team headed by Peter Hall, the building was formally opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 20 October 1973,[5] 16 years after Utzon's 1957 selection as winner of an international design competition. The Government of New South Wales, led by the premier, Joseph Cahill, authorised work to begin in 1958 with Utzon directing construction. The government's decision to build Utzon's design is often overshadowed by circumstances that followed, including cost and scheduling overruns and the architect's ultimate resignation.[6]
The building and its surrounds occupy the whole of Bennelong Point on Sydney Harbour, between Sydney Cove and Farm Cove, adjacent to the Sydney central business district and the Royal Botanic Gardens, and near to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The building comprises multiple performance venues, hosting over 1,500 performances annually, attended by more than 1.2 million people.[7] Performances are presented by numerous performing artists, with many resident companies such as Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. As one of Australia's most popular visitor attractions, the site is visited by more than eight million people annually, and approximately 350,000 visitors take a guided tour of the building each year.[8] The building is managed by the Sydney Opera House Trust, an agency of the New South Wales State Government.
On 28 June 1998 the Sydney Opera House became a UNESCO World Heritage Site,[9] having been listed on the (now defunct) Register of the National Estate since 1980, the National Trust of Australia Register since 1983, the City of Sydney Heritage Inventory since 2000, the New South Wales State Heritage Register since 2003, and the Australian National Heritage List since 2005.[10][11] The Opera House was also a finalist in the New7Wonders of the World campaign list.[12][13]
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney
Sydney is the capital city of the state of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds Sydney Harbour and extends about 80 km (50 mi) from the Pacific Ocean in the east to the Blue Mountains in the west, and about 80 km (50 mi) from the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and the Hawkesbury River in the north and north-west, to the Royal National Park and Macarthur in the south and south-west.[5] Greater Sydney consists of 658 suburbs, spread across 33 local government areas. Residents of the city are colloquially known as "Sydneysiders".[6] The estimated population in June 2023 was 5,450,496,[1] which is about 66% of the state's population.[7] The city's nicknames include the Emerald City and the Harbour City.[8]
Aboriginal Australians have inhabited the Greater Sydney region for at least 30,000 years, and their engravings and cultural sites are common. The traditional custodians of the land on which modern Sydney stands are the clans of the Darug, Dharawal and Eora peoples.[9] During his first Pacific voyage in 1770, James Cook charted the eastern coast of Australia, making landfall at Botany Bay. In 1788, the First Fleet of convicts, led by Arthur Phillip, founded Sydney as a British penal colony, the first European settlement in Australia.[10] After World War II, Sydney experienced mass migration and by 2021 over 40 per cent of the population was born overseas. Foreign countries of birth with the greatest representation are mainland China, India, the United Kingdom, Vietnam and the Philippines.[11]
Despite being one of the most expensive cities in the world,[12][13] Sydney frequently ranks in the top ten most liveable cities.[14][15][16] It is classified as an Alpha+ city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, indicating its influence in the region and throughout the world.[17][18] Ranked eleventh in the world for economic opportunity,[19] Sydney has an advanced market economy with strengths in education, finance, manufacturing and tourism.[20][21] The University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales are ranked 18th and 19th in the world respectively.[22]

Si mucho
Las calles de la del centro especialmente las entrada de la alcaldía y todo al rededor de la plaza, de San Miguel se deberían de limpiar a diario. Se ven bastante sucias. Eso ayudará más turismo.
Yes I agree
Feo ese pueblo, hay que modernizarlo 😢mucha bulla pendeja

Minha cidade ❤
Cool city, great place and people
not much have change since i have left 20 yrs ago. one of the high end jewelry [ho a sim ] is closed i notice. the optician store still exist where i have been buying the original Ray-Ban sunglasses . wonder if they have the same owner wich i've known.
These small city really don't change much. Traffic is horrendous at peak hours and parking is a nightmare in the city. I did like the people very much.
Lived on mud island when beautiful harbor town was just built in 1990, it was a shit hole of a town. All of downtown was dead, and homeless men terrorized the streets. Cops pulled me over one day because of my Texas plates to warn me to stay away from blacks, they are dangerous and look for out of states plates to rob.. I was horrified and moved away as fast as I could back to Texas once I realized that the rednecks were just as crazy! Looks like a whole new city today from this video but still needs more people downtown. You need affordable housing downtown in order to get the life back, like Detroit did!
Que lástima que esté todo tan rayado
Muito bom!!! Parabéns!!!
Thank you very much
Excellent video of walking in a country few would go mate.
