Hi loved the fight but woudnt it have been more effective to have the massive stone warriors as the vanguard so they avoid friendly fire and to draw the attention of the enemies vanguard so your spearmen wont get bulldozed?

Dude if ever there was a reason to use heart of winter .... like nonstop
wdym "if ever there was a reason"? Heart of Winter is an amazing spell. As long as you can keep the enemy inside of the circle, it's THE BEST direct damage spell in the game- and AI is dumb, 99 cases out of a 100, you CAN keep the enemy inside of the circle. It deals like 3x the damage of final transmutation- 1600 vs 4500 per regiment (on average), and it only costs 2 more winds of magic 26 vs 28 (talking about overcast in both cases) and just like every other "direct damage" spell, it doesn't deal friendly fire damage- you can put it on top of your units and it won't harm them. It even out-damages Flock Of Doom- Flock does ~654 damage per cast that costs 6 winds of magic, you can cast it 9 times, or you can overcast Heart of Winter twice... two overcasted Hearts of Winter deal an average of 9000 direct damage to every regiment they hit- mind you, that's enough to bring most infantry and cavalry regiments from 100% to 0 HP (or at least very close to it) 9 casts of Flock of doom average 5886 damage.
@@IndependentObserver The whole blobbing up thing is kinda the problem. Outside of rare situations like this, or SE doomstacks you would be hard pressed to find a blob worth the spell... In sieges it just absolutely sucks. (magic cost wise obviously)
