DGB(Pty)Ltd was formally established in 1990, although our true roots extend over 300 years when winemaking began at the Boschendal and Bellingham farms in the Cape Winelands. In fact, we were doing things a little differently in the 1940’s already, when Douglas Green pioneered the wholesale sales model for wine in Paarl. Today, we are one of South Africa’s largest independent wine and spirit producers and distributors.

DGB has 12 distribution depots around the country. Midrand, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Durban are company-owned depots with bonded facilities and the rest are third party owned. DGB has invested in owner-managed delivery trucks which is part of a conscious decision to uplift drivers from a previously disadvantaged background.

Our Head Office is situated half way between Pretoria and Johannesburg in Midrand, South Africa. This is our administrative headquarters as well as home-base for sales, spirits marketing and our national call centre. Extensive warehousing and distributions ensures effective delivery to the major metropolitan areas of Gauteng province as well as smaller outlying areas.

DGB has always been mindful of the impact of our wine and spirit production, distribution and exports, with a track record of sound environmental practices and accreditations. A comprehensive Carbon Footprint audit helped formalise DGB’s greening project. This has provided the foundation for several reduction initiatives to minimize our footprint across our operations.
