House of Flourishing Introverts
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 12 เม.ย. 2022
This weekly podcast, hosted by Joanna Rawbone, is for introverts who are looking for ways to step up authentically and need support, encouragement and an advocate. It's not those who are intent on hiding inside their introversion.
It's also a very useful listen for those who live with, love or work with introverts and want to understand them better.
There are so many myths and misconceptions about introversion, but it's time that this aspect of neurodiversity was taken seriously. Together, we can shift this bias!

Dear fellow introverts, this episode is a little nostalgia, little learning and a lot of emphasis on power of storytelling for we introverts.

Ep 245 Handling Introvert-Extravert Conflicts | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 721 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Summary None of us is a stranger to conflicts. Conflicts between introverts and extraverts have a challenging world of their own though. As someone who has always shied away from conflict, especially when it turns heated, I have come to appreciate that when approached with emotional maturity, these disagreements can actually lead to enhanced creativity and authenticity. It is about understandin...
Ep 244 Making Hybrid Working Inclusive | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 414 วันที่ผ่านมา
Summary In this episode, I confront the stubborn myth the return-to-office is the only way for business and teams to thrive. It is time we accept that hybrid workplaces are here to stay and I urge leaders to be inclusive in exploring the new ways of working that prioritise employee well-being and, crucially, introvert inclusion. The outdated leadership practices often perpetuate bias-especially...
Ep 243 How to be Present | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 921 วันที่ผ่านมา
Summary Is presence, and being present one and the same thing? In this episode I explore the curious concept of presence and being present from an introvert's perspective. I am choosing to explore this from the lens of negotiation. Through introspection and reflection on personal significance, impact on personal brand, and internal conflicts, I take you towards a deeper understanding of the dis...
Ep 242 Negotiation Skills Introverts Need | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 1128 วันที่ผ่านมา
Summary Negotiation, Negotiation, Negotiation - it is happening everywhere and at all stages of our lives. I explore negotiation skills specifically tailored for introverts and how we already negotiate in our day to day lives. More importantly, how and why being more intentional in our negotiation skills serves us well. I debunk the myth that negotiation only happens in boardrooms and among peo...
Ep 241 Breaking Through the Extraversion Bias | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 28หลายเดือนก่อน
Summary If you are an introvert, I can almost guarantee that you have experienced bias. This episode is all about the prevalent extraversion bias within organisations. Our societal preferences for traits like chattiness and outward displays of confidence can mean that we are sidelined and our contributions go unheard. I bravely explore bias we introverts are subjected to in environments that fa...
Ep 240 Building Dynamically Inclusive Teams | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 15หลายเดือนก่อน
Summary Let us unpack the complexities of building dynamically inclusive teams by leveraging the natural strengths that introverts bring to the table. In this episode we explore how inclusivity within teams can be achieved through mutual trust, psychological safety, and what Enola Consulting calls "compassionate efficiency." It's about creating a space where everyone feels valued and respected....
Ep 239 The Healing Power of Listening | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 12หลายเดือนก่อน
Summary If only people could just listen, and notice how it helps people to heal. Despite my decades-long campaign to improve our listening skills, people are more interested in learning how to present or use language to influence. In fact from early years, we're taught how to read & write, but not how to listen. Central to this episode is the inherent ability of introverts to be comfortable wi...
Ep 238 Networking for Introverts - a Different Perspective | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 12หลายเดือนก่อน
Summary Oh the daunting world of networking, how it bothers we introverts. In this episode I share how we can look at networking from a fresh perspective, an encouraging one at that. Acknowledging our discomfort with traditional networking methods, I share my own journey and how I've come to see it as an opportunity to build meaningful relationships rather than just a transactional exchange. By...
Ep 237 Inclusivity - But How? | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 112 หลายเดือนก่อน
Summary In this episode I take a closer look at the reality of companies championing inclusivity and actual gap in implementation on the ground. This gap can create a trust deficit which is neither good for the team nor the leadership. And psychological safety takes the hit in this process - which is never a good thing! My primary aim is explore how we can accomplish authentic inclusivity with ...
Ep 236 Secret Sauce of Introverted Leaders | The Flourishing Introvert Talks
มุมมอง 112 หลายเดือนก่อน
Summary Welcome to the new and 21st season of The Flourishing Introvert Talks. We are diving into the often-overlooked contributions of introverted leaders within our evolving work environments. In the post-lockdown world there's been a noticeable shift from initial acceptance to a push for Return-to-Office mandates. This regression is driven by perceived declines in productivity-something I st...

Thank you both for a fabulous set of wisdom and inspiration now rippling their away across my pond. 🙏
Thank you for watching Maria, and for your feedback. Frea really is an inspiration.
This episode has helped me so much. I took a big step 24 hours after watching this. I am so grateful Mam.
Watching the replay and I love the message so much. This helped me a lot ladies.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Helen is the epitome of quiet presence isn't she? I love to know if there was anything in particular that helped you?
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode when it was live but had missed early part. I am watching it again for many reasons. I am working on my presence again on a bigger scale now that I understand how I need to recharge and precharge to bring my best to my performance. You recently saw I was recognized in a very important event. I spoke less but I spoke strong, and I got standing applause from the entire room. I am genuinely using the majesty of quiet presence. When I am a little more comfortable I will share videos too from such events. Thank you Joanna and Helen for the wonderful episode.
Thank you - you already demonstrate real presence Hitechmother so delighted that you're now scaling that.
Tuning in from West Midlands, UK! (Hopefully soon to be having presence from Kent, UK)!!
I do look forward to that ❤

Other day I could not watch complete as I was tired. Replayed it right now and took my notes. I understand the show name better now. What is also interesting is, I think this is who I have been all my life and now I have a 'title' for it because what you shared is how I feel and have done my advocacy work all my life, A Sassy Rebel. I still think I am more an extravert than I am an introvert, but I have signs of both for sure. I am going to start saying, I am a Sassy Rebel. Thank you Joanna.
😬 "promosm"
I had not heard the shoe analogy before either.
Indeed. Very few people can thrive in a high pressure environment even when some appear to fake it.
I want to be a “good rebel” with you @JoannaRawbone!
Happy to have you on board @blueroadseducation
Oh I cannot wait for the next leg of your intentional Flourishing Introvert travels!
We (the introverts and quiet ones and 'different' ones) ARE doing it well. Thank you for speaking for and to us!

On the aspect of self-coaching, you mention in this episode, I believe I am an effective self-coach because I bring myself out of several internal challenges on daily basis, however, it is the self-accountability partnership that I need work on.
I need to get so much better in this @flourishingintrovertsmedia
I subscribed to your channel❤
Hello I just found your channel. I really enjoyed it. Thank you.
This personally helped me so much. A good reminder to have on my mental fridge door.
So pleased it's been helpful - a reminder for many of us I believe
I love how Sharon begins with 'whoever said should'. They day we drop the shoulds, life becomes very INTENTIONAL. When I look age or constraints or mindset, I always fall back on to my CTCR mantra. It helps me know where I clearly stand with my ability, skills, knowledge, and resources - and make the next move. One thing I always keep in mind is, I am not an expert, I am a professional. I know certain things very well but there is a lot more to learn so I will never be an expert, because that is where arrogance begins and learning ends. Age has never meant anything to me mostly because I have so many people around me that entirely defy the so called 'retirement' or 'old age' and stun people with the unstoppable service and value they bring to the table, well in their late 90s. Looks, Age, Fitness, Degrees ... I could go on - it is 'How INTENTIONAL' you make your life. Love the episode.
