I'm guessing Ottawa and that rollback is a beast! And all the comments about the cable snapping are wrong. That cable is rated for an insane amount of weight. You could tow a large ship with that. Also if it did happen to snap, you would literally need to be touching it for it to hurt you. It's physics. Stay in school kids!
You're exactly right when a cable snaps it flies towards the back of the cab of that truck or goes back towards the mud tank. It's the same as a chain they don't go sideways I'm just surprised that truck doesn't have a cage over his back window. That cable from coming through the cab and killing the driver I work the oil fields of Oklahoma and Texas in the United States I was a 150 ton mobile crane operator we took the rigs down moved them and put them back back up again. In the oilfield if you got time to lean you got time to grease the cables. The only time I ever seen a cable tear is because it was pinched
Yeah they take care of them with good pay and benefits believe it or not. Sacrifice is terrible but it’s a damn good paying job. I work in the field. Also they do random piss tests, blood test, and saliva swabs, and hair follicle. What ever is cheapest for them at that time they use so nobody can cheat or use fake pee. The results have to match and therefor eliminates any junkies from sneaking in and getting people killed or injured
Riggers do the biggest heaviest most damn dangerous job but somehow every company manages to hire complete retards... know a dude that's a supervisor for a riggin crew upstate NY, tells me about this and that dude dying left and right I'm just like it's not that fuckin hard to avoid slow moving 200k lb objects just MOVE
I would say that is a whole gaggle of stupid roughnecks because if they had and brains there would be drainage trench all over that location instead of wading through mud. The rigup driver is a greenhorn too. I guess they both have gotten dumber over the years.
When I first started working in the oil fields we were called worms you didn't know nothing. Once you figured out what a rollback was and when he had his polls up it's called a gin truck then you are called a Gonzo once you got everything on the oil rig figure it out then you were called a hand. Drill pipe was 20 ft long and they used mud lubricate when two pipes were joined it came in 5 gallon buckets. And the man in charge of the operation was called a pusher. So we had a saying it went like this, where else but the oilfield can you find a pusher on every rig joints come in 20 ft sections and dope comes in 5 gallon buckets. I was paid really good money but I do not miss the oilfield. Lots of guys lose their fingers throwing chains on that drill pipe it's a very dangerous place to work there's no room for fun and games. They also have a slide on the drilling platform just like you would see in a school playground, so if something goes wrong you can get off of the rig immediately. Sorry to make this so long I was just trying to educate people that don't know anything about the oil rigs
Oil workers are generally dumb people. The guy losing his boots in the muck was no where near as dumb as standing around a hoist cable that could have snapped and taken some dumb heads off. Millenials..... ya. Says it all.
Lmao most oil riggers are just trained high school graduates....lmao that's why we hire drill teams for so cheap 😂😂😂😂 make them feel special even tho they lack the general knowledge of most jobs.
You are right. Almighty one .. depending on diameter it can cut you into more then once peice under enough stress and tension thanks try it sometime ;)
@@cupwalker24.7 The winch cable will wrap around you. Ive had 3 40ton cables snap on me and none of did much damage to the truck and a tree just removed the bark and scuffed some paint. And myth busters also tried to cut a pig in half with a cable was only capable or cutting into the skin. Please educate yourself.
@@longy6612 let's try it !! It will be fun everyone is doing it With a few different cables on different job sites and I'm sure every situation will be just like yours almighty one
Instead of laughing at the poor guy why doesn't one of those hyienas help the man????
As an American I've seen some damn goof Canadian hands.
Where were the smart ones?
Yeah let's stand beside cables under pressure.
Haha stupid blane
Where's that raise son. damn..
No matter how big it get u can handle it. It's an order.

Isn't there someone to donate some brooms for these assholes to put to good use!!!!
Cable snap ......
Typical construction guys 8or10 standing around talking shit watching one guy do something now that's dumb
Complacency.
Why not load it up to begin with then the extra weight gives you traction.
It was too low in the ground.
All of them were dumb for not being behind the ears of the load. When that line breaks their all gonners
makes me wonder if there is such a thing as an intelligent rough neck?

I've never seen an articulated prime mover before. Interesting. When he got that pit up in the air he suddenly had traction. Lots of it.
LoOK aT US EvErYBOdY
Really boring
Is there such a thing as a smart roughneck?
Standing so close to these steel cables, cool. Any container, mudpit can fall over.
What in snowrunner is going on here
I wish you could winch stuff with the western star from the bed.
Be different with having to throw a chain
Calling the kid dumb when all them are stood between the winch and the trailer
That's what I thought the video was about until I saw the boots
Rig pigs are fucking idiots dude, lol.
Uneventful
Amazing that the truck can winch that huge thing up while in like 2 feet of pure mud, zero traction
These morons make me want to give up on this country.
The ‘Stay in School’ message here is strong.
Is it tho? Looks like an interesting well paying job. No need to kill yourself with debt.

@@alexheckman6776 I’m sure there referring to all the guys standing around a winch under stress...
You got your parkinsons on camera,, that's about it
Spoiler alert. The market crashed and they are all out of work now.
They are back working again

I miss my rig moving days. Was really fun.

The front end never left the ground it wasn't that heavy
Recording on lease ? Interesting.
We had to go to the entrance and use our cell phones.
That’s a swamper, not a roughneck. Still dumb though.
