I would see DOAB at the Cyrus Eire West. I also saw them open for Derrick and the Dominoes at the East Town Theater in Detroit. THAT was quite a show with Ray pushing his amps over as Adam played his flutophone.

We used to see them at the Agora, D.Poo's also opening at the Allen theater for Uriah Heep. Ray would knock his amps over at the end of the show. Tight ass.

Like from another world, I will never listen to the wimpy version again... Listen to the bass when the vocal comes in. This is what they really sounded like. Real for real. If you never heard them live, the bass was always way loud, and the guitars much more "crunch" that any of their albums. More like it is here than any of those Eric Stevens produced albums.

I love the ending as Ray goes behind the curtain. That's absolutely the last time you'll ever see someone that was in Damnation of Adam Blessing on stage.

Ray wrote me, (from the hospital) and asked me to tell ya all... if the gain runs a little "hot" on the audio, back it off about 2.9.

Circa 1969: One fine Saturday morning Adam and I took a break from taping the Upbeat Show at TV 5 Cleveland to walk across Euclid avenue to a drug store. Seems Adam needed an inhaler. We walk in dressed in our supper mod scarves and bells, faces covered in pancake makeup to no ones amazement. Adam is indignant that no one seems to notice him... no one rushes over to serve him, so he screams... "do you people know who I am"? People turn and look, shrug, then turn away... So Adam screams, "when you find out who I am, you're going to need to have a good diaper on..!" from the Amazon Kendal ebook, "Illusions of Just-Us".

You other guys in the Damnation of Adam Blessing, owe Ray Benich a "debt of gratitude" for bringing this song into the 21st century..! You have absolutely nothing that can compare to the standard that Ray brought to this jam.... ...and when Ray reached out to drummer Bill Swhark, telling him, "I can put you up at my place, plenty of room". Please play this date with me, one finale jam". Shwark Earl did not reply...

My father took me to this show in 2018. (He was a roadie for DOAB at the height of their career). Ray's calmness and presence is of a spiritual nature, only through much suffering does one attain Shaman...
