    I am choleric and I completely related to this episode. Understanding that I am prone to "run ahead of the Lord" has been a new and recent discovery for myself in my discernment. I have had to condition myself to wait on the Lord because waiting does not come naturally to me (I am high in strategic and activator on Clifton Strengths). One thing that has helped me is visualizing myself handing over the outcome to God each time I decide to move in a direction. In this way, I'm pausing to respond to his prompts instead of running full steam ahead with an idea of how I think it should go. It gives me this sense that I'm not just waiting, I'm collaborating with my best friend.

    We left the Catholic Church 14 years ago and have been in the evangelical church, Yes, they do a good job in their Bible studies and their Sunday service teaching scripture thoroughly, our Bible studies are packed. We’re in California. Our churches are full. The comment about being born again is true. The first thing evangelicals do to convert people make sure they’re born again. It’s all about a relationship with Jesus, not rules of religion. I love listening to you two because you speak so well , have so much knowledge and I can tell the Lord has called you to help the Catholic Church! I pray for you too, but the Lord bless you and your endeavors! Keep up the good work!

    There are so many differences between the Catholic religion and the evangelicals. Being born again is the key aspect. Read the Bible as to what being born again means.

    & @CatholicSat Follow Pope Francis to children in Singapore: "All religions are paths to reach God. They are-to make a comparison-like different languages, different dialects, to get there. But God is God for everyone. If you start to fight saying 'my religion is more important than yours, mine is true and yours isn't', where will this lead us? There is only one God, and each of us has a language to arrive at God. Some are Sheik, Muslim, Hindu, Christians; they are different ways to God. In all sincerity! I wanted to ask educated Catholics, how can this quote from the pope be true? God bless you all and I do love how gentle and humble your conversations are🙏

    Thank you for these talks. I am a melancholic, as is my oldest (daughter). My middle (D) is Choleric, the baby (son) is Sanguine and Husband is Phlegmatic. We're a whole household! 😂 so I haven't looked into this... and I don't know where your understanding/ beliefs/awareness may be,..... BUT I am tempted to believe that most people with ADHD tend to be either Mel's or Sang's. 😂 Thoughts?? ❤

    • @metanoiacatholic
      @metanoiacatholic 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Super interesting. Erin has ADD and is very Sanguine. Sometimes I wonder if we mistake creativity and non-linear thinking gifts as ADD because they don't fit the traditional linear approach to education. What would it look like if we started seeing ADD is neuro-diversity rather than a pathology?

    • @laurieblanchard1171
      @laurieblanchard1171 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @metanoiacatholic I agree with this line of thinking and prefer "neuro-diversity" myself. I am ADHD (ADD) (ADD now being technically under the umbrella of 'ADHD'), as is my oldest daughter (the melancholic), and I highly suspect my son (the Sanguine). I didn't discover this or receive a diagnosis until recently at 35. I still haven't even discussed it with my daughter yet, but it is time now. She's 10. And she's starting to feel "different." I think adhd is likely multifaceted and its origin in each person multi-factorial. And it's likely a beautiful 'protectant' to the brain to act as an equalizer or reconciliation for survival of the person, which is an incredible ability of our created being. I know there's aspects of my thinking that I actually LOVE, and there's others that are incredible hindrances (time blindness, always talking/over sharing/ forgetfulness/ big ideas with low execution). Are those just traits that don't fit in rigid expectations our society has created and dubbed as 'normal'? I have no idea 😂 it's definitely a good discussion.
