I used to live about 2 hours from Guelph and always wanted to check out the vinyl in that town, but never seemed to get up there. I've done that where I invertedly bought an album I already had. Fortunately, I've always found that those double buys can either be sold or passed on to someone else. Those doubles that you got shouldn't be hard to resale as both are great albums. So, no, that's not a bad screw up at all. Love anything by Robert Fripp. That one is all Frippertronics, like you said, and it is one that has to be listened to when you are in the right mood. And I do have that 7" single, but my copy didn't have it when I found that album, but I did find a copy of that 7" separate later on. That's my favorite Dio album which I unfortunately don't have on vinyl yet. Great find. Cool find with Black Market Clash, that's the 2nd time today I saw that someone found that. I had it on a 10" at one time and had to sell it, but I have since found a 12" of it. The hole punch either means it was a promo copy or it had been discounted for the cut-out bin. It doesn't devalue the album in most cases. If you find a VG+ with a cut-out or punch hole in it, it is still considered a VG+. Great pick ups!

Stop Making Sense is, in my opinion, one of the very best live recordings ever, but the DVD and the record. I couldn't pass up the last reissue that came out mainly because the record now has the entire concert on it. It even makes it that much better. Happy 40th and long live Stop Making Sense!

I can remember that selling really well in the shops. The original came with a booklet from the movie if I remember correctly. I am not a huge fan of official studio produced live albums. But this is a great one. Well done~ Rob/Boston

I do not know many Waits albums. But I do know "Frank's Wild Years", "Rain Dogs" and "Swordfish....". They are all enjoyable. Ah yes. Blue Train. So so good. I did not know that it got a Tone Poet release. You grabbed some excellent listens. I dig them all~ Rob/Boston

Stormbringer is one of the few missing titles in my DP collection. I used to see those all over, but when I finally got serious about getting all of their classic albums, suddenly I never see a good copy of it anymore. I'm also missing DP In Rock and the earliest self-titled one. I think Stormbringer is probably the best of the Coverdale era. You are right though, Coverdale definitely brought in more of a funk factor when he joined, but he was interested in giving the band more of an R&B sound. Wow, I've had a very hard time finding Zappa's Jazz from Hell on vinyl. No, it's not his best, but it probably is his best synclavier-based album and none of them are in his top 15. Excellent find with Skylarking. I've seen them from time to time, but they are always in bad shape. A Tom Waits find is always excellent and worth a few extra bucks. Awesome finds!

Great episode, David. So, to add to your commentary on the Tedeschi Trucks record, the 4-record collection is based on a Persian poem and each record is about each stage of a love affair. The one you have - The Fall - is the third and is the relationship or love affair entering the beginning of the end phase. It's rated the best of the 4, although I personally cannot stop spinning the first - it's my personal favourite. Sister Feelings Call is a great find - gotta find that one - the quest begins! Keep the videos coming, David.

Are these live songs the same versions from Exit Stage Left? I see some songs on there that were not on that album and that is awesome, but if the rest of it is the same stuff on ESL, I am not seeing enough incentive to buy this other than for the artwork stuff. Rush boxsets and anniversary packages frustrate me because there is never anything I have not already heard before. All the "remastering" does not make any difference really to me.

I think I will be getting this now.

I did not have Permanent Waves on vinyl so I bought the 40th box of it. The mix was so flat and dull that I bought an early pressing that blows it away. For Moving Pictures, I have first release MasterDisk press that I don't think any reissue can beat.

I just got the Sweet FA vinyl reissue with some bonus tracks. I just picked up a couple of Blue Rodeo CDs at The Salvation Army thrift store. $2 each! Great deal 👍

Nice weather here too, only getting up to around 18 during the day....though the nights are rather cold, around 4 last night. Lovely boxset of an amazing album which I have been tempted to buy a few times, but something always seems to pre-empt it for some reason. The fact that you were at that show definitely would make it a must-have for your collection.

Cool finds. I have the Simples Minds and the Style Council. I can't imagine recapping 2.5 years of finds! I guess there is more to come 🙂

Fantastic variety of records. I do have the Style Counsel "Cost Of Living". Never really got into the artwork on that one. But the music is good. Love anything that Weller is involved with. Cool to see the Tyner Tone Poet too. Appreciated the update~ Rob/Boston

I can imagine that you would have a backload of vinyl after two years. I know I have enough after 8 months, so I will probably do something similar to what you did here. Yes you were quite lucky to find "Sister Feelings Call" as I have never seen it in the wild anywhere. I would love to find the early Simple Minds albums. Great bunch of records, love the Herbie Hancock reissue.

Welcome back! It feels good to get back into it, doesn't it. Thank you for the shout out! Eat a Peach was a great pick, it's one that I've been trying desperately to find a passable copy of. Nice eclectic choice of albums, I love a lot of variety in my collection and I can see you do too. I don't know a lot of Tedeschi Trucks band other than the various links to other Allman Brothers projects, but it is a band I need to check out. I missed an Ian Hunter record at this last dig David. And now for the Grateful Dead !!!!! Live Dead music is where it's at for me, being the Dead Head that I am ! Studio albums are great too ! Phil's "Box Of Rain" is good on "Workingman's Dead" I'm missing "Wake Of The Flood" and "Mars Hotel" in my collection.. and "Terrapin Station" ! Bought "Infidels" on release, and waited for it that year in the early 1980's .

It's funny: I see The Kids are Alright all of the time - and often for really good price -- but I have never picked it up. I guess I really should get it.

The Big Chill is a great soundtrack. I need to make a conscious effort to keep an eye out for it. I'm also overdue to re-watch the movie. It's been years.

Thanks for the info on Exile. I don't have a copy and I see good presses are hard to come by.

Crazy great finds! That Wake of the Flood is known as a 'song title' issue, also from 1973 the year the record was released, but the first OGs have no song list on the back cover, just a single-line copyright notice at the bottom of the back cover. I used to have an OG I bought at the time, but that's long gone and now I have a modern reissue. Still a wonderful album. And I still do not have any version of the Dead's debut. Need one. I agree that Infidels is so much better than how the music press reacted. Had it on CD for years and just this past year bought it on vinyl.

I always thought that PG Scratch album looked more like Neil Young, but I still love that album though it's not always a favorite among his fans. But then, I also love "Wind & Wuthering", like you. Not all of the Phil Collins led Genesis albums are bad, I love all of the earlier ones. Good luck finding all of the In Through the Out Door variations, at least you are not trying to find all of the iterations of The Police "Synchronicity"....what is there something like 34 variations? Great addition to the thread!

For some reason, I guess I just missed the Echo & the Bunnymen train and never understood the draw, yes I've tried, but it just doesn't work for me. I'm sure I'll try them again sometime.

Great response video. Been enjoying all the different covers. In Through the Out Door is a good album. It’s hard when you get compared to some of the best albums ever made. Peter Gabriel is a true artist.

I'm a big fan of Echo & the Bunnymen. I agree that this is a bit dark. The band's next record is much better.

A nice selection of Hipgnosis covers. I didn't realize London Town was Hipgnosis too. I'd like to get a few of the Led Zep variations too. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent video. PG: Scratch is not as good as the others, but the opening On the Air/DIY is awesome.

Excellent response to Chris's thread. This has been a thread years ago. Chris is always coming up with the threads with interesting themes. He never stops thinking. <> That is a nice In Through The Out Door 'F Sleeve' . I had them pretty much memorized after getting 17 copies of the album the day it was released. I actually have 21 copies. I bought four more about a week later. I think I had six sealed copies leftover after getting all six covers from the first 17. I thought I was going to have to open up all 17 at first. But on the eleventh or twelfth one I finally got the 'C' cover. That was the toughest one to get at the time. I liked all of the Hip's that you showed. Nicely done D~ Rob/Boston

Nice finds David. I must admit. I am envious with your knowledge of Dead pressings. If you handed me ten Dead albums and told me to pick out three original pressings I would not be able to. I would probably pass the test if you did it with lets say The Beach Boys. But I am lost with the Dead. I only have about five Dead albums. I think I saw them live more than that. How is Dylan's 'Infidels' overall? Slow or upbeat? Rob/Boston
