We have 2 services also but we live stream our 2nd service. We are a portable church so we need to setup and tear down every week. There's not enough time in between services to setup our live stream equipment so we setup before 1st service. We use 1st service to fine tune things, especially the audio mix. When you say you want your video playback to be pre-fader because it does not need EQing, what do you mean? Or did you mean Pre-EQ? Pre-fader means adjusting the volume for the FoH will not affect the livestream volume. First, you send the video playback channel to the BUS.

The usb-c output is uvc 1080p/30. You must use a USB-C to USB-A OTG cable for this function to work. On a side note I also purchased the DJI transmission SDR units and did a test on latency. The DJI units exhibit 33 milliseconds whilst the hollylands were approx 100 milliseconds in smooth mode.

I asked ProPresenter support directly regarding the subscription model and what happens if you stop paying. Their response below. In short, the watermark returns when you stop paying their subscription. I tried FreeShow on our Mac Mini Pro (M2). It is promising but still too early. It repeatedly froze on me (buttons stopped working) while trying to setup a project. Restarting it allowed me to continue until the next freeze. I will keep an eye out. --------- RENEWED VISION RESPONSE ON SUBSCRIPTION BELOW ------- Thanks for reaching out! Our model is purely subscription based so if you decided to stop paying for the service the software would function, but you would not be able to present from it without a watermark on the output. If you chose to resume your plan later, you would be subject to the pricing at the time you resumed your payments. If you need further assistance, please let us know. Thanks! Our services have a much more traditional style of music. More dissolves than cuts. But I do on some songs that feature a soloist, is keep one camera tight, then another as a 2 or 3 shot, then switch the framing on the chorus. Then use PTZ's on instruments. we have the problem with a large room, full frame sensors and a limited budget for high end lens. Using a 50-600mm on two cameras, one can get tight, the other not so much.

For those interested - here's a deep dive into how and why these systems have the aforementioned drawbacks: The thing about these cheap wireless video systems with seemingly great range is that underneath there's a constant battle of quality - vs - latency - vs - range. Quality is self explanatory, uncompressed being the most true and pure form of monitoring with the sole wildcard being the quality of the monitor you're viewing it on. It also has the sometimes extremely vital benefit of being zero latency (from a practical point of view, not physics). The downside is it requires successfully delivering a huge amount of data with nearly no room for error. Any higher than insignificant interference introduced will visually impair the received picture because there is no time to re-transmit that missing data. Also sending this amount of data requires serious bandwidth and power and so there are wide channels designated within the 5 GHz and 6 GHz specifically for that purpose (these are not Wi-Fi). The cheaper wireless systems work over Wi-Fi bands. These bands are free to use all over the world, and you can transmit ANY kind of data over them. So the cheap versions have their TX encode and pack the video into a data stream and have RX decode it on the other side. This encoding/decoding process introduces the latency that ALL these kinds of systems incur but the faster it can process the image, the lower the latency. However, the faster the encoding - the lower the compressed image quality ends up so it's a direct trade between quality and latency. The very decent range (compared to low level, professional zero-latency wireless) actually comes from the combination of the above two factors: Forced latency (read below) allows there to be a two-way communication between TX & RX, working like an internet connection, meaning if there are packets (chunks of data) dropped (lost) along the way, the receiving side can request re-sending those and then fill the missing parts with new data - this type of transmission allows the system to deal with significant interference despite working with limited transmission power (capped by Wi-Fi frequency standards). Compressing the image more, leads to less data (packets) having to be sent overall which allows the above fallback mechanism to deal with ever greater interference and in practice helps achieve the range goals. A heavily compressed image can still look good, provided the algorithm used to do it is sophisticated and there are no shortcuts taken - neither can be achieved in a system like this. Sophisticated algorithms require powerful hardware and time to complete their work and there's no room for either here unless you want these TXs to be the size of a block battery and the latency to be 100 times higher. And so a compromise on quality has to be made to achieve the small size, quiet cooling and ever lower advertised latency. The poor quality and the lack of deeper blacks is a direct result of (what I'm assuming is) compressing the signal down to a YCbCr 4:2:0 8-bit with a "TV range" values of 16-256, meaning the lowest 16 luminance values (blacks) are gone, which in total is about the most economic you can get with digital video these days requiring around 4-8 Mbps for a (full quality at that compression level) 1080p30 signal. And this by itself doesn't necessarily have to always look terrible but all this has to be achieved on low-power, miniaturized hardware in a very limited window of time thus requiring the use of very fast and approximating algorithms resulting in poor end image quality.

Deliberate positioning of our cams in the room so that they don't point directly at our ops too often, and then knowing where on the stage is "safe" given who's leading a song etc. Sometimes I'll ask someone to move slightly if I notice them being really obvious too. But overall, it's just a lot of reps and practicing that exact thing!

My license is still valid for those but they are not actively updating it. As RV has pointed out this is not a 7.xx release this is a new numbered release to which they don't sell a permanent license. This explains why you can always go back. I can go back to 5 or 6 today.

Our church was deciding between WorshipTools Presenter and ProPresenter. The biggest appeal of ProPresenter was the one time payment on our small church budget….. however, since that’s no longer an option I think we’re going with WorshipTools Presenter as it’s cheaper and has added features (Charts App, Planning App)

Solid take and video!! I was one of the ones who chimed in on Facebook lol I found it rather disingenuous for them to present this as something to “benefit churches that can’t afford the large, upfront cost” rather than just needing to entice more people into the maintenance plans. I get that software development costs money, but for new folks, the break even point on the $29 monthly compared to the current model is only 20 months… So, if you’re joining at $29, before you even hit 2 years, you’re paying more than you would today. If this was truly to help small budget churches, they could have offered first year scholarships or payment plans for the initial year. This is very clearly a way for them to increase recurring revenue (which isn’t a bad thing), and if that means we keep getting awesome improvements every couple of months, I’m good with it. Epically bad messaging from Renewed Vision, but hopefully they will correct that in the future (we can do math 😂). If anyone from Renewed Vision is reading this… next time, just tell us the truth; don’t try to repackage it as benevolence :)

Thanks Josh for the clarification. I was thinking of trying that freeshow and I even downloaded and installed it. Now that you posted this video I see a different light. I'm the one who has no plus subscription and I am fine with the current version. If it aint broke don't fix it lol.

I watched the video in the email and was honestly frustrated that their answer to "listening to their customers" was to increase the price and remove ownership of the product if you cancel your monthly.

Renew vision when they release the video on TH-cam got roasted in the comments so they had to disable them. It was kind of funny.

Reading through some Facebook comments, it is clear our “we won’t raise your price for at least two years” commitment has been misunderstood to be “we are raising your price to $289 in two years.” This is not the case. Our intent is to honor those who were ProPresenter+ customers by making this transition as seamless as possible, thus charging you the exact same amount as you were already planning to pay for a year of upgrades and support. At some point in the future this price may increase, but our intention is that it be a nominal increase.

The more the reason I chose Freeshow over ProPresenter

  • @Jason-mk3nn

We need more approaches like PreSonus does with their StudioOne Hybrid license, where each full year of license that you pay for, you get to keep that release for good. That model is a win-win-win, whereas the current defacto standard is a mixed bag at best. While the churches I work with had not jumped into ProPresenter yet, the instant deactivation is a non-starter for me to even recommend it. There needs to be a grace, especially for small churches where sometimes billing issues can break subscriptions, and then leave a church on a Sunday morning with no options. Considering this software is designed first for churches, I would have expected at least a little grace, but as usual, money supersedes grace. And frankly, that lack of grace along with most people's concerns about never-ending price jacking make me question even looking at ProPresenter going forward. Maybe if they committed to intervals, where churches can budget and have advanced notice of price increases (unlike the common "next month your bill will be $xx more" approach, this would fall on more pleased ears. Subscription models are not all bad, but you have to believe in the company(ies) behind them and trust their motivations.

      @Jason-mk3nn หลายเดือนก่อน

One last thing that really irks me about the ProPresenter announcement is that they turned off comments. If you cannot stand up to comments of a game-changing announcement like this, then that company has already shown you their motivations. They don't care what you think. They have done what they have done and now you have to live with it. There is this philosophy in churches called Nones and Dones. They just made us one. Which will be determined by their actions going forward.

Great vid! I do want to confirm that all existing licenses will continue to work no matter what. Even if someone migrates to a subscription and then cancels. They’d just revert back to whatever version they had. But I’ll definitely take a look at the copy and see how we can better clarify that! -RV staff

We bought PoPresenter 7 in March of this year. Will we have to pay for the following subscriptions after two years? If so, I'm seriously thinking about switching to FreeShow.

@@PaulClifford We bought PP7 thinking that by buying the license, we could continue working, still finishing the year of support, working and that's it, that was the idea. Although it seems like a joke $189 is still extremely expensive here in southern Mexico and multiplies by the years of subscription uff, the multimedia brothers were saving to buy the $399 license, now RV come out with this. Maybe RV should think better for their customers, like us a small church, who I don't think we get to use about 20% of their product; we don't use stage, not time and other functions that are powerful, only presentation, lyrics, bible and funds. PP7 is one of the best tools I discovered, until then, but this sudden change to this subscription is drastic for us, I think it would have been better to apply it for a new version such as PP8 or PP that is the official one. Maybe I'm not fully understanding it. What happens if I stay at version 7.16? Will I have to join the subscription anyway after two years? But in the end I recognize that ProPresenter is an excellent product, the price is what does not fit for everyone.

Surprised? No. Disappointment? Yes. ProPresenter is an elite software with so much potential. It enables reliable church presentation that just works. However, what is the statistic...68% of churches in America are less than 100 people. So yes, even a few bucks increase (on an already premium price tag) is limiting for many churches. It would seem to make more sense to have a tier system where small churches can still use the software but with limited features. Likely most churches barely scratch the surface of the full capabilities and would not be inconvenienced to pay less money for less features that aren't being used anyway. Then the larger churches that want to utilize all the amazing features but can also afford to pay more for the features. A church of 100 is paying the same amount as a church of 5000 but it figures out to be $2.89 per person person per year vs less than .05 cents per person per year.

    • @budget-church-livestreaming

Plus their multi deat plan is 20 seats for double the cost of single seat. I do hope they do a lite version for a congregation like mine with under 100 on Sundays. They have 2 years to get that right, since everyone with Pro+ is locked in for 2 years with no price increase in that span.

We are less than 100. Will stay with Propresenter 6. We barely use any of the added features. A song every once and a while. The KJV bible with the lower thirds. A few announcements. That's about it

We're setting up a new system. We have been using OpenLP with a projector but are looking to add multiple video screens with multiple functions (main, stage, remote nursery). We need a more robust software package and were considering ProPresenter. Then, we found FreeShow, but weren't sure if it would be adequate. Well, I hope it is because ProPresenter is just too expensive for our small church.
