After paying a hefty 2800 rs for just one night, we discovered the room was small and neglected, but we brushed it off due to the remote location. The unimaginable happened within 30 minutes - my wife screamed from the bathroom, and I was left stunned. A person was peering through the broken window at the back of our VIP cottage. We rushed out, alarmed, and confronted the property's caretakers, only to find sandbags stacked to create a vantage point for someone to invade our privacy. Terrified and isolated in this remote area, we couldn't reach help quickly. Slow internet, drizzling rain, and indifferent caretakers worsened the situation. Their casual denial of the incident heightened our fear. We believe this sinister act has been going on for some time. My wife couldn't identify the person due to the darkness inside the bathroom, but the sight of someone leaping off the sandbags confirmed our worst fears. Everyone's shoes were muddy, making it impossible to pinpoint the culprit. We immediately demanded the property owner's presence and recounted the horror to Mr. Ajit Rai. He refunded our booking amount and offered a transfer to Darjeeling Town. Despite suspicions, concrete evidence was lacking. We urge fellow travelers, especially women, to exercise extreme caution. Thoroughly inspect your room upon arrival at any homestay in remote areas. Consider alternate accommodations if you're heading to Tinchuley. Your safety is paramount.
