Maybe I'm overthinking it, but can't water not physically be a liquid at 20 degrees?
The thermal camera is probably measuring the temperature of the plastic, not the water
Good vid Rob. IceCo is a solid brand. I have the 45L in my RV and it works like a champ.
Good to know - thanks Kyle!
Have used the tent in a heavy rain yet.
Thank you for your review!
I'm glad you liked it - thanks for letting me know!
how well will this work for motorcycle camping
I feel this tent is on the big and heavy side for motorcycle camping unless maybe you have a big bike with a lot of storage.
Very detailed solid review, thanks
The instructions say to put the hooks onto the poles first. Much easier to put the poles in the corner holes first and then do the clips.
interesting video for sure. I've been pondering this tent for some time. I insist on my tents being able to pitch and tear down all in one piece. Keeps things dry in a rain. I wonder about weight. You mention I think, 5# or so. I thought the manufacturer claims 6#8oz. Not outlandish, but not light for sure. A friend just used one on a kayak circumnavigation of Ireland. He told me that he had a pole break in a moderate wind. Not cool. That seems to be an issue with Amazon purchases. Can it be ordered with heavier poles? I wonder just how tight the fly will pitch given what seems to be a rather floppy pitch in the video. May I ask, what the height of the bathtub floor is. Many reviews question the waterproofness. Have you used it in a serious rain?
I don't think you can order this with heaver poles. My son used this in moderate rain and stayed dry. I wouldn't use this tent on a "serious" expedition like circumnavigating Ireland. I think it is more suited for family camping on the weekends
Not taking anything away from the amazing quality and value of this tent, but 90% of the reason I love it is the logo.
Will 2 queen size air beds fit in this model ?
they might...but it would probably be a tight fit
Can u weight the tent poles? Just so we can compare it with the weight of aluminum tent poles of the same length! and are them pegs steel? Or aluminum?
I like it ... too much. Repeat after me, "I do NOT need another tent! I do NOT need another tent!"
Thanks for the good review
Very high quality review thank you
Thanks buddy just got it off Amazon going back packing for the first time next week, hopefully it will handle the SWCP couple hundred miles, bit worried about the wind but I will live and learn thanks again
have fun and stay safe out there!
Excellent demo video! My question to you is, since you stated you had older tent(s) that needed to be replaced, what's your opinion on the tent poles connecting to a "grommet" at the corners of the tent versus the tent poles (my Tetragon 5) connecting to a "pin/ring system" I'm kind of wary of grommets pullig out!
The troop has had these for over a year now and we've had no problems with the poles or grommets. We've had some of the screens rip due to rough handling but that's it so far for problems.
@@SevenFortyOneOutdoors Thank you for your feedback sir, I took the plunge!
very clear and instructional . thankyou
Concise, informative, and humorous, could be my next chair, thank you for this review
You Americans and your inches and pounds! Good review, thank you.
Old habits are hard to break!
thanks man'
Pretty neat stuff for an overnight camper. I'd take that and make the cover look like a 60's Volkswagon beetle, and mount the bed frame to a go-cart. Just have to make an imitation windshield to see where you're going. 73's de KC2RDU
❤️Lovely ❤️
Just throwing my Eureka Pinnacles 2 to garbage, after 19 years. It was ok , everything was fine but it takes horrible smell that can be removed after all theses years. Still got a BonEcho for over 14 years and love it . Planning to buy a Timberline SQ outfitters 6 , this tent looks like it gonna last forever if not forget to let him dry after each use. So hi can tell you after more than 30 years outdoors camping, Eureka tent last longer than you can imagine, depending on how much you use it in a year.
Nice Video 🔥
What color is this?
£199.99 !!! I really want this but can't afford it
£139 with a further promotional discount to £125 on Amazon Uk at the moment. Just bought one yesterday.
@@lindahartley2940 I see no discount? Maybe I was abit slow? I am trying to save I really want this bad !
Nice chair. 👍🏻
Great review Rob - very thorough.
Rob in for the 3 min review. Good stuff dude. Neat looking chair.
FYI it's cheaper to order from night Cat direct. Great vid thanks
I am with you on the value of the budget tents. ALL tents are made of basically the same materials and can be kept waterproof using an inexpensive can of tent waterproofer from year to year. What I would change are the POLES. The 7mm fibreglass poles bend everywhere and have poor rigidity in even mild winds. I would measure and swap them for Alu poles which can be had for 30 dollars up. That would make the tent lighter and more wind resistent.
I like nightcat products,I like the way you reviewed the setup tent then put the setup process after makes it easier for inexperienced campers to understand
is staking always necessary?
It stands its own, but always good to stake it for more stability
How is the size of the vestibules? can you easily fit backpacking bags and such?
you can fit a 55l pack under one side, maybe two under each one when zipped. They are decent size.
You come from a dry part of the world my first thing i would say is you can set it up in the rain with out the inner getting wet always an advantage to be able to put outer on first before inner ,which makes outer first the ideal tent for wet climates or trying to pitch in the rain
Good point
Thanks for the review, Rob!
A 4 season tent? So there’s no ventilation and you’ll sweat to death in the summer? I was looking into this tent but thought it was 3 season.
If you open the inner windows you'll have plenty of ventilation. In fact you'd probably only close those if it was super cold outside
@@SevenFortyOneOutdoors oh OK. Thank you
Just picked this tent up off amazon. Super easy to use and a lot more spacious than expected. Great review video👍🏼

300+ years ago when the eastern US was being settled, there was a big problem with rocks in the fields. As they plowed their fields they pulled up lots of rocks and put them in piles. In the winter, they used sledges to move the rock to where they wanted to build stone fences. The summer that never was, knocked down the CT population and made land values drop. Many marginal lands were abandoned and became wood lots. The stone piles have just sat there for over 200 years now. Good Luck, Rick
Well really, who cares? Unless you're buying the property, what difference does this make to anyone? It's not like it's a treasured archeological dig site. "Oh oh oh . . look . . here's a piece of angle iron sticking up from the ground!" . . . "OHH here's an old frozen faucet leaking water!" . . . . . yaaaawwwn
thanks for watching the video, I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to leave me a comment 👍
I'm one of the people who care . Actually, I find these type of videos. Fascinating. Perhaps find some videos of women twerking that should stimulate your intellectual mind .
I GREW UP IN CT., WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE THIS IS
Just a place someone decided to drop some stones.
No, that's in another area
it was aliums
Probably
As someone who has grown up in CT and the woods, I’d love to know the general area?! Or stare park name? We used to go to HopBrook Lake and the state woods around it, there was once very nice bridal trails in the area, they’re still there, I grew up in Lantern Park Condominiums, and we had the woods, and plenty of them!! but not too many ppl go In those woods, or take their horses to the bridal trails anymore…sad it’s still breathtaking to stroll through! 😊
This is in north east CT
Don't know if said, but tennis ball most likely dog.
You are probably right.
If there's water flowing from that spigot, they didn't fill in the well. My guess is, the planks you mentioned seeing over the well as a kid are still there and they put the boulders and dirt over the top of them. Out of sight, out of mind kind of a thing. The tragedy in this story is that everything was going well before WWII. They were even planning on putting in a windmill. People don't plan for such things if the farm is doing poorly. WWII comes along and suddenly it's halted. That means to me that several of the males associated with that operation were buried in American cemeteries around the globe. The second tragedy is that no one stepped in and continued the operation, or that the state seized the land because of tax debt (proof that no one owns land if it can be taken from them). I love that you're showing stuff like this because it'll be going back to simplicity again if we have another Carrington Event occur. It pays to know where such places are.
I'm glad you liked the video! You may be right about the well. I think it was filled in the 80s, long before anyone was worried about environmental concerns. They were just trying to keep people from falling in
Looks like a lot of copper in those boulders... Interesting area. Thank you
No copper, that's moss and GoPro color saturation
It's and old pasture area for animals. 100 years ago there were no trees there.
